Excellent video. Great information.
Thanks!
In my humble opinion not all the 200 inhabited islands are able to receive tourists unless you visit them by yacht but you have to be sure first if they got a very good physical harbor or a closed bay that the yacht will be protected by most winds. For instance Kinaros is an island with only one resident a woman in her sixties or seventies. Also some of them are reserved from the Greek navy for exercise training mainly with shell bombardment and just getting onto them is just too risky. Also for health reasons some tourists must consider to choose an island that has a hospital on. You can easily by accident be bitted by a rare venomous hornet or even a simple bee can immediately cause a reaction to your body and only antihistaminic medicine or cortisone can save a life. Or you can step up to a Drakaina fish and it's spike is quite painful. Very rare never happened to me my family or friends or relatives.
There definitely a few that are inhabited and hard to visit. I went to one a couple of years ago on a sail boat. I think there were more goats than people! The ones that are protected, I don't think are considered inhabited but I could be wrong. On my recent sail to Kea, I wanted to stop at Makronissi but read it wasn't allowed due to its historical nature.
Thank you, Tiffany. This is very helpful. I am planning my trip for next year.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Tiffany
I am an ardent 'Grecophile'and a fairly recent follower of your videos which I LOVE as they give me a "Greek Fix" when I'm unable to be there in person.
Thanks so much for your work and efforts. I really appreciate It
Lisa
Thank you!!
If you don’t feel well, feel better soon. Or maybe you just need some rest. Take good care! Kudos to you and the number of subscribers! This is an excellent and informative video!
Thanks!
I never met a Greek (island) I didn’t like 🥰
That’s understandable
Thanks Tiffany. I’m planning on returning to Corfu summer of 2025. I think Corfu is a great island because it has lots to see and do and is not too expensive. Or at least you can get away from the more expensive places and find cheaper options.
Since it’s larger, you can find something in your budget.
"A Girl and Her Passport" is real" is really passionate project
But she doesn’t bother to respond to you
@@Male666chauvinist Maybe she's busy living her passion instead of lurking in comment sections like some people. 😏
Trying to plan my trip now. I leave for Athens in 3 weeks. Def gonna go to one of the Saronic islands this time.
Nice! Enjoy
Also, August 15 is a time when a lot of Athen’s restaurants close for the religious day.
Many close for a week or more but there is always something open.
Its only 60 islands habitable... the rest its lonely rocks😢😢😢😢
Hay I was wondering what do you think of the new ETIAS new system that they are going to bring in next year do you think 🤔 it’s a good idea??
is there Uber in Athens? Or is there a different app used to get around?
There is Uber but it calls a taxi. There is also FreeNow that also calls a taxi.
YOU HAVE TO MENTION THAT EVIA AND LEFKADA ARE THE ONLY TWO ISLANDS THAT ARE ACCESSIBLE FROM THE MAINLAND WITHOUT FERRY 😁😁
Why are you shouting?
It is just a frendly advise to have the feeling of a greek island with less money
Hello Tiffany! Remember a video awhile ago of you renting a boat from around athens. Could you advise where that was from?
That was with Yacht Hop. 😊
@agirlandherpassport is that from piraeus or one of the smaller ports I assume ???
@@benhanson123Mine left from Alimos Marina.
Thx so much for your lovely videos❤, I wonder if u can help me I want to take a bus from rafina port to the airport, my inquiry: are the buses available every 30 minutes to the airport as at periaus port and thx in advance
I don’t know how often they go but it’s pretty often.
Hi Tiffany, I'd like to have more information on Ferryhopper. When you purchase tickets do they appear right away in the app or do they email the tickets? How far in advance do you have to purchase? Also how do you present the tickets at the boat? Do they have to be printed out? Or just show them on your phone? Thanks for the info. I've only ever had paper tix.
Most have moved to electronic and some you get right away. Others you have to check in and you get it. You can print them or have them scanned if they are electronic. Not too far unless it’s August or near a big holiday.
Can I buy a ticket the same day I'd like to go and it will be delivered straight to my phone? If I'm a last minute planner 😂 @@agirlandherpassport
@@agirlandherpassport so I could, theoretically, buy a ticket thru Ferryhopper when I land at the airport and I will have it by the time I get to the port? Or do they need a few days to send email?
@@crossed_threadsNo, that would work.
@crossed_threads Yes, you could do that.
Have you ever been in the other side on the Ionian islands?
Yes, I have. To Corfu and Paxos.
Do you know prices?
If you want to buy one how much is it going to cost?
Buy an island? This is to travel to one.
Yes I don't mind. How much is for Santorini you think?
🙏😊 Still prefer ATHENS 😄
