Tim Pierce is amazing guitarist with personality. Talented, versatile, fast as a squirrel, transparent and honest without baggage. Thank you for sharing your gift of music.
Love it how Tim talks about different tricks like "Double stops. That works! Octaves too!". The way I hear his playing is that the real magic is in his absolutely fantastic phrasing which makes every idea sound like the most natural thing.
I agree Michael Palmisano, 100%! Maybe for others, their ears and soul will open 1 day. I grew up with all shredded, and that’s how I played, UNTIL 1 day, playing VERY LOUD, the Beatles Revolver, and Eleanor Rigby came on, and that cello hit me so hard, it felt like I was listening to Tornado Of Souls! And I was opened up from then on! Siigghhh, everyone has their own journey to go through.
What's amazing about this is I've always heard a piano-heavy song when I've listened to it, and didn't really pick out the guitar parts. Listening again after Tim's video really brings the guitars and the song to life!
Rather than a technique lesson. A lesson on what matters and what makes this channel great. Note selection and part selection. Composing on the fly. Parts that sound easy and obvious but only after someone plays them to you. Excellent 👍🤘😀
Tim, I have never seen anyone (except Eddie Van Halen, of course!) that shows such a genuine abundance of joy playing a guitar! Love watching you play man! Amazing chops and such humility and kindness bro! Your definately a joy watch and listen to! Thanks for what you do and keep on rockin' bro!
Hey Slick, couldn't agree more. Great to see a seasoned pro with all the total joy of a 5 year old on Christmas day when he plays. Sure you have to put in the grind to get better every day but the reward should be a massive smile on your face when you finally let rip and play that chord progression, riff or solo 🤩
Only a master could jam that much useful content into 14 minutes while keeping it fun and interesting. Thank you for providing the giant cherry on top at the end, breaking down your gear!
Excellent highlighting of deceptively simple things put in just the right place. Reminds me of a mantra I heard often when doing sessions in Nashville - "you have to be content to play a little part on a big record".
I have say it a hundred times and I will say it a hundred more, if all the people in the world had the attitude, passion and happiness that Tim has it would be a much better planet! Love this channel, brings me a smile every time.
Such a wonderful guitarist who loves his craft. Generous spirited and not afraid to commend others. No narcissist looking for all the limelight. Thanks Tim! 😀👍
I'd totally forgotten about this gem! Thanks so much for bringing it back to me. Your insights into the guitar hooks are spot-on! They really ARE what makes this production stand out. Very useful! Now, if I could only find a vocalist who could sing like that......
Hi Tim here comes a greeting from Scandinavia, Sweden! Up in the cold Nordic countries we must play music to keep alive ;) I am happy to follow your channel and your many good advice, tips and tricks. It is so useful and provides as much knowledge as I can use when I as an amateur guitarist try to advance. The professional course is too advanced for me yet but I have huge benefit just from watching the short but very informative videos you make. You got that swing! I keep coming back to watch the videos over and over again, so a big thank you for all the valuable experience you share with all music lovers around the world!
Sometimes simple and less is more. That held out cord when she sings "twisted words" and how they connect and compliment each other is pure genius. Thanks again Tim!
Tim points out very subtle parts in the original recording. They're not really that loud and are a bit hard to hear in detail, but when Tim explains, you can stitch it all together to see just how well produced and arranged the track is. Thanks for great lesson, Tim.
Thank You Tim. Great breakdown of a brilliantly recorded/produced song. It reminds me of other songs with beautiful supporting parts…"Complicated", "Sunny Comes Home" and your work on Toy Matinee
I swear I learn something important every time I watch this channel. As a kid I could never hope to be able to learn from such talented people. Thanks Tim.
For sure a great example of how to play a song supportive guitar! That's why I really love it how you do it! And surely you are a true master in that. Most people want to hear music and complete songs rather than technical explosions on your instrument. Here you demonstrate how effective simplicity can be! Love it! Thanks for sharing Tim! Cheers DimiZ
Tim Pierce is such a monster guitarist and another one of those which I like to call simply generous, I hope I find the time to join his master class this year, we are so fortunate to have the instruction that he offers. Thank you, Tim Pierce.
Back in 1987, my writing partner and I had a song that we knew deserved to be kicked up to the next level of production, and that it was time to spend serious some money on a song of ours, get sounds and performances that had previously, been above our pay grade. Our music attorney, a very nice guy named Gary Stamler, said, "hold the phone," and then a minute later, "bring your masters to this guy's studio, this address, on Monday morning," -- and then, characteristically for a lawyer, and also for Tim Pierce, I would later discover, Gary said, "Don't be late, and be prepared to be done in less than an hour." So we brought out tapes, this Tim Pierce guy brought his chops and his gear, and sure enough, he laid down a wonderful Middle-8 solo and outro that indeed, lifted our song to the next level. We were also pleasantly surprised by the cost. Tim was, and remains, an amazing player, and always brought his "A" game to even the lowliest of sessions (like ours), or to performances for the stars that he mentions in his videos.
I’m watching this at 4AM and it felt like the sun’s already coming up. Ya made my day, Tim. Thank ya! Now I’m gonna go fire up my AC-30cch and have fun trying to fumble through some of the stuff I heard you do.
Tim man I gotta say, I enjoy so much seeing you play so much! Such joy in your face! I laugh with you man! Always thought about taking your master class and for some reason this video today clicked with me. Im in.
I wish I could be half as happy as this man. Thanks. I'm not at this level yet, but I like to come and watch. It's hard to understand right now, but I think if I keep watching, I might learn something. I feel I've earned the right to play some old blues, I'm an old man with nothing else to do, and it's been a hard road. Have fun guys, I have learned, that's the main thing, have fun.

Tim always looks like he's having the time of his life when he's playing. It makes me smile.
I’d be smiling all the time too if I had an amp cockpit and could play like that.
Same
I’d be smiling too if I could sound as tasteful as that!!!
Doin what he loves 🤘
Now that the noise I make is starting to sound like music, I smile the whole time I play. Unless I'm making the painful, "that's the note" face!
It's so easy to dismiss a song like this until someone like you comes along and takes us all to school. I appreciate you!
No wonder Tim smiles so much. I’d smile from ear to ear if I could solo like that too!

Amazing Tim!! Sounding so good!🔥🔥🔥🔥Beautiful parts!
Rick thank you so much man
A great lesson on listening to and playing to the music, not just finding a way to fit in your chops. Simplicity stands out!
You Rick are also such an influential online presence for me! Thanks for your work!
The channel that brings all the greats of music together :)
Tim is exceptional! Sorry for the intrusion!

TIM.... That ending chord with the bend below the bridge... ok.... that was seriously killer and ever so tasteful!

Very inspiring, thanks Tim!
Great stuff Tim. I appreciate your sense of musicality in a song like the one you chose. Cool to the max.

Brilliant advice. Great tutorial! Thx so much. You just gave me hours of practicing to work with. Very much appreciated. Be well.🎸🤘🏻
can’t stop smiling when watching you. Great guitarist, great entertainer. This is pure fun. Thanks Tim!
The less I play the better I get. You can often do more with less.
Always love this video type! Great to hear how to be a part of a song and lift it up!
absolutely brilliant!!
Your love of the guitar and making music is genuine, and shows
Thank you Tim Pierce - This sounds so right.
