It's hard because we get regular season Canes doing all that shot suppression magic and the goalies look amazing, and to Andersen's credit, he was playing amazing. I think he just wilted under the pressure. He's not the only one, but it's especially hard when you know you're going to see elite goaltending from the teams which keep sending us home and our guy forgot how to skate.
The Rangers PK has been great in both series 4 goals allowed and 4 shorthanded goals scored just insane. Other than 1 game the Canes PK was also good, did you guys think they were going to shut down the Rangers PP? They played well enough everybody talks about special teams and goaltending but the biggest difference between the teams is the Rangers have better finishers i'm not sure why people keep discounting that important fact.
Goalie lessons: 01-02 Coach Mo alternated two average goalies to produce excellent results in a long near Cup run. In 05-06 there was alternating between Gerber and Ward, though it was not equal....it became mostly Ward but Gerber did steal a game in Buffalo. And then this season, for the last third of the season, the Canes had great tending by alternating......then they decided to "ride Freddie" all the way in the playoffs. Why? What in Freddie's career EVER made anyone think he was a guy you can ride to a cup? He's not. Never has been.
Canes had chances to have at least 6 goals, shots off iron twice and grade A for Staal but Shesterkin. Like golf runners up that rim out putts but compete to the end. Canes will be fine. So much to like about this team.
Just keep in mind Svech is 24. He's played 4-5 times the games Kreider had at the same age. The starts of their careers actually look similar from a production standpoint, Kreider made a big jump in his age 29 season, his 8th full season. I agree that Svech needs to be the guy who can push 40, 50 goals - or more important, be the guy who can score 3 goals in a period in May or June.
I think both teams are similar and the guy between the pipes is the difference in a best of 7.

Sounds to me that Hurricanes fans are in training to becoming Leafs fans...
The team is full of passers. The Canes need some scorers
Andersons was the reason the Canes won game5
Freddy Anderson is/was way good enough too beat the rangers, he wasn't why they lost this series, got behind 3 games too the rangers
Lol ok pal
