I’m guessing this is why we haven’t seen you in a good while, which makes perfect sense! ❤❤❤ It’s refreshing to hear someone on this platform who is balanced and realistic. Thank you for keeping the sewing vids up. They’re so helpful. Peace and blessings to you no matter what you’re doing these days!
This really spoke directly to me. I love doing all kinds of things but that doesn't mean that all things should be a business. ESPECIALLY since I work fulltime.
You just helped me so much. I've been at war with my ego for months about pulling the trigger and closing my small business even though it dosent make me happy. I've been scared of the judgment and what ifs. Thank you for giving me peace and feeling understood, just knowing someone else knows what it feels like helps.
Thank you. Thank you. I am losing peace, mental and physical health on decline, new challenges every month, finances have completely fell apart this month. I don’t want to do what it takes to keep it afloat now let alone for the next 10 years, yet like you said people keep trying to get me to push through. When I explain where I am they don’t listen and only see what they want for me…
Hi Eryn, thank you for the honest! I can definitely relate to this, I love making custom made swimwear and I was selling on Etsy, it was doing well but I also have my other business because of that I didn't have enough time to do both and working at the hospital. Earlier this year about 5 weeks I made the decision to close my swimwear handmade business and now I'm just concentrating on one business. I'm happy to have made that decision and it feels great 😊💕
Thank you! 'Stop asking for permission' is the answer to most of the problems I hear my friends complaining about. Once you stop waiting for outside approval the path is not always easier but much clearer.
"Peace is my eternal compass." ...And no, it's not gonna be easy. Well said Sister! Thank you so much for the encouragement! (I'm in the same boat right now.)
THANK YOU!! I felt the peace of God after listening to this video. I actually closed down my shopify store as I was listening to your story. Thank you for sharing this!
Bless you! I don’t have and have not had a business, but I have a desire to learn to sew well. So this is my job now. I really get excited when I see “my people” especially women doing their thing. So kudos to you for going for what you know and making the tough choices. It’s not always the easy one. You’re an inspiration! Blessings! May heaven smile upon you!
I'm just seeing this and wow. I can totally relate and have definitely been there and in the process of shifting once again and letting some things go. Peace of mind is the utmost important, spending quality time with my family, taking care of me..... and making room to receive new blessings. All the best to you
Congratulations on getting your new role in management. You are a leader and listening to what you’re hearing and then making the decision to close your coaching business takes strength. Your strength.
Love this Eryn. I went through the same thing a few years ago. I purchased a business I had no business purchasing and I was failing miserably. I thought it was going to be sooo easy and it was not. It wasn't until 5 years later that I finally closed it. I kept it open for so long because I kept saying, it's gonna work out. It never did and I'm so happy I finally let go. I wasn't listening to God.
Thanks for sharing that, Sis. It's a journey to come to that space. It takes time to realize that quitting is the best thing you can do. Real business owners know when to cut bait. They don't get emotionally attached to businesses because most businesses fail. They learn to make objective and sound financial decisions. But, you and I both know that this is easier said than done.
Thank you for sharing your very precious and valuable thought process. This is something I don’t see much on UA-cam. The truth matters and you shared that with us and thank you for being a good example of how to be flexible, progressive, positive and best of all someone who likes to help others.
Thanks so much for that message. It's an eye opener for a few of us who watch your broadcast. I don't very often but when I do I ALWAYS enjoy it. I also understand where you're coming from too. Keep on listening to that little voice in your head or elsewhere my lady. Congrats too. Many blessings on your endeavors.
🙌 discernment will never steer us in the wrong direction! 👋👋 this is my first time on your channel, but i can say that you seem so at peace with your decisions. 🤩 keep doing your thing...many more blessings are coming your way!
Thank you so much for sharing this..I was the owner of a black owned custom fabric business (Q|A Fabrics) and decided to close my shop..My Shop was super successful but I started to lose myself in it. I became overwhelmed and so stressed. Like you I am multi-passionate and was just doing too much at once with all these ideas. I fasted, prayed, cried, and started to receive so much clarity when I decided to walk away from it. God literally had to shove me to get out. I missed 3 exit ramps ( I am so hard headed) but when I finally listened new doors opened. It was so hard but since I closed my shop I have been the happiest I have ever been in a long time. I finally know what I want to do for the rest of my life ( Professional Video Production) and it feels so good. Like you said trusting yourself is so important. Again thank you for sharing this. I have always loved your channel!! I hope one day mine can be on the level yours is. I am Halfway to hitting 1k, if anyone wants to show support. Be Blessed everyone!!
I just found you and this post means a lot to me. I am just restarting a business and trying to refocus. I love that you stated stop asking permission. I love it. I am going for it!
Thank you for your honesty. I love your patterns, especially the Madison cardigan. I get tons of compliments! Now I need a beautiful kimono, aka Jessaye Norman. Thanks for being a beautiful person.
I came to your video from IG. I'm here to show you some support. About 2 years ago I closed a show I curated for almost 5 years. I have felt so much better since I did. But I am often told how much its missed and that I should bring it back and all I can think is now isn't the time.
Thanks so much for sharing, this is food for thought. I have received so many compliments on my Madison cardigan that I recently made, so Style Sew Me has been a blessing to my wardrobe, thanks 😊
This video was a confirmation for me to do my homework for @kingdomdrivenentrepenuers and read Latara Venise's book called "Soul and Heart in Business" the chapter I was avoiding is called "Kingdom Priorities" and half way watching your video I kept saying this isn't related to me at all! Why did I pick this? and then you got to the meat and potatoes and I knew I needed to 1. do my homework and 2 Re-align my priorities (again), thanks for putting this up! She is confirming so much of what you said)
This really hit close to home for me because right now I'm considering closing one of my businesses. I'm very good at designing custom homes and I'm very good at demolishing homes. As such I have a Custom Home Design business and a Demolition Business. The Demo business is my main source of income and the custom home business, while profitable at one time, is no longer meeting it's goals. I'm very close to closing that business and focusing solely on demolition...but admittedly it is hard to let go. NOT because I'm attached to the business per say, but because I'm really good at it. The biggest problem I have is there is so so much competition and big home builders have the majority of the market spoken for. Nonetheless, I'm praying for guidance although I think I know what needs to happen...but this spoke directly to what I'm dealing with now.
Thanks this has definitely blessed me. I am doing a research degree and I wanted to start an upcycle clothing line to make extra money. Ego unfortunately got in the way and what was originally intended to be a hobby /small buisiness venture turned into something unachievable. I run out of money, run my health to the ground so I had to quit so i can do my research which is my true calling. I'm however left with the stock I invested so i have to sell this ....and I'm going low key.....I'm gonna do market stalls at the weekend until it all clears. Thanks for your story it has reinforced what I had planned to do.
Your story is almost identical to my clothing line journey. THat's what I did - hustle and almost give that inventory away at vendor booths until it was done. The beauty is in the lesson, and knowing that you went for something even though it didn't work out. That tenacity will show up in you research degree. While painful, it's never anything to be ashamed of, right! Blessings on your journey and thanks for watching!
I’ve had my business for 6 years and I’m tired, I’m burnt out but idk what to do. I feel the same way you did, I prayed a little bit ago and coincidently found this video. I’m so torn

Thanks for sharing this with us I want make a comment on what you said God was talking to you this is so true God talk to us and at times we don’t listen. But you have to be spiritual and have God in your heart and soul to Understand . I see you have You put God first. Okay I can go on & on but I won’t God open a new door for you congratulations on your promotion. I have one question you are very good in sewing 🧵 will still sew
Thank you so much, Pamela! I will sew as the inspiration strikes, but not on a schedule for the sake of business. It's important to me to keep sewing in a space that I still enjoy it for me - if that makes sense.
I’m guessing this is why we haven’t seen you in a good while, which makes perfect sense!
