It’s a stick. When we were kids and we acted up our grandparents would send us out side to get a switch “stick” and you get your ass beat. And if you picked some flimsy ass stick you get beat twice.
Better to build schools and jobs than give away money. People that are hungry can earn it and learn how to manage it rather than be given money. The proverb with giving a man a fish vs teaching man to fish is very real.
Luxury village aka a rich suburb. They should rent them out or make them into a hotel block or something to maintain a revenue stream to maintain the village. These houses are going to go to disrepair if they don't have the money to keep them nice. The man from this village is a freaking saint.
Cafelogis that's why he planned to build pig farm and lychee farm for them also a slaughter house. So they can have job to support their live. But they are just stupid (the villagers)
Google search "Abandoned Subdivisions" or "Unfinished Suburbs"; it's amazing how many new housing subdivisions were abandoned across the US due to the 2008 financial crisis.
Yeah, the problem with that financial crisis is those suburbs are buy/sell game so it's bound to bottom out more often than a nice area of a city (or the original close suburbs to the city). A big issue is the really well off invest in a place at a subdivision. Before the place starts to get run down, they move out into the new new and try to get most of their money back out by selling the old place. And the houses will lose money quick. Another problem is the developers tend to find the cheapest (but still reasonable) land they can to maximize investment to return. Which means the land all around tends to be cheap. I've seen nice suburbs being built while at the same time they were putting a trailer park across the street. I knew of a suburb where a dump was built behind it within 5-10 years and another where the state bought land and built an highway overpass near them, congesting their traffic.
David's face at the end looking at Tiff like what and I get David when he says companion lives to other people that's how I knew I was poor and am but not forever
raz 00 l don't necessarily like being given things for free. I feel a bit guilty when something is just given to me. It's more of me not actually earning it or working towards it. My reaction is more of, "Why? I didn't earn it, so why is it just being given to me? I don't deserve it and don't really want it." I think it was the way I was conditioned to be as a child, which transferred into adulthood. If I'm given money randomly, I won't spend it right away. When I have money, I'm very careful how it's spent. My doctor who prescribes my medication keeps trying to talk me into applying for disability, but I don't feel comfortable taking money from the tax payers. Like, "Why the hell would I willingly take money from the tax payers, when I can still physically work. It's just mental problems keeping me from working."
What the billionaire should've done was invest in the education and provide better jobs first. Also lay down some conditions so things wouldn't get out of control. Secondly, why does it have to be villas? A decent house would be good enough. The billionaire is a nice guy but he is not without fault. Yeah the villagers were to blame but he should've at least supervised the management at least. There's a reason why mainland Chinese have become so unhinged.
Ramiris Doesn’t matter which country. Poor people always get greedy when rich people give them jobs or residential complexes. Poor mentality equals greed.
taoist40 I won't deny that humans are greedy, but I'm talking more aligned with the situation of when a person of average or lower income is for whatever reason given a large amount of money. Take for example lottery winners; they're often normal people and when they win million(s) they tend to immediate blow off their winnings and the people around them begin to fight over it. I believe that if they had worked hard to get that luxury neighborhood, they'd be more appreciative of the things they have.
when you about to get an ass whoopin, you had to go outside and pick a branch off a tree for your moms to whoop you since there are no shoes or belt around
you gotta pick the thick branches fam...unless they go out and pick for you. They'll pick them HELLLAA THIN ones so you can hear that thing fly through the air and that STTINNGGSSSS on impact..
This is no news in China, one person broke out of the original poor community and wanted to give back, but the things they gave back ended up destroying the village, if not the person who broke out as well.
That's sad. All the people who send money back to my parents' old village make sure it goes to public works and restoration projects. I think they all knew something like this might happen.
Switch: Commonly known in the black community as a large branch or stick pulled from a bush or low hanging tree. The switch (unlike the Nintendo Switch) is used as an instrument of punishment. By delivering devasting blows to the buttock region of the person in question, the switched's (the offender) negative behavior can be corrected and eliminate the possibility of future negative behavior. The term used for this form of punishment is known as a "Fresh-Ass Whooping" or "Fresh-Ass, Ass-Whooping" by the Ebonic Community.
Oh shit! I just realized that they don't have switches on the west coast. For all of the people that grew up west of the Mississippi River a switch is an Asian palm that's really flexible and and strong for us in the Midwest. For people in the south it's any small stick. And parents would use it to beat your ass. The Asian palm was what my mom used because it's grew everywhere and it was strong enough to give you 12 good hits before it broke but flexible enough to give the whip like action and small enough not to leave marks. It was
Bruh David’s college experience is so relatable. My freshman roommate goes on Cruises and vacations for every break. The amount of money all my classmates would drop on shit scared me. I just assumed I lived an average life and I never thought of myself as poor until I started college.
I really do agree with Bart. Students at our school CONSTANTLY complain about issues our school has and all, yet, tell me why there is a freshly punched hole in a wall, why is there trash on the ground that you threw? If you want something done, then at least do your part...
My dad threw the lid of a toilet seat at my head. Just ripped the darn thing off and tossed it. I grew up in the most trailer trash, meth lab, moonshine, hillbilly ass part of PA and damn I got stories for days! haha it was crazy.
I learn to compare my life when I was in college too. I end up daydreaming most of the time. But I learned that working on what I have now is better than daydreaming of what can I have in the future.
I feel you David, my family only went on vacation once every 3 years or so, but it was at such a cost in our lives that we couldn't have anything nice because of it. We've only ever owned used cars, we've only lived in apartments or trailers our whole life (well at least me, not my parents), all of our furniture was a collection of my parents' from the 60's and 70's. Now that I'm in college, it's hard to see how everyone who started off with loads of money, yet they still complain about every little thing. I'm too poor to even go into a dorm unless I want to take out loans, and because there's a two year policy at this school, I have to live with my parents until I'm 20 which is the most soul sucking thing when they themselves are poor. It doesn't help that this school is predominately white and come from families that typically have two homes.
FakidOFtheBlock Gg yeah tbh it wasn't too surprising when i saw the stats because people would use name brand Chanel bags just to carry books and would throw out TVs and electronics at the end of the semester bc they didn't feel like moving it
Rupert Bletchford Now That is fascinating. Not to know what a checking is in this day and age. Even the people in the village know what that is, even if they don’t have one.
Boze gotta be jamaican, a switch is another name for a old piece of branch or a young branch that is broken off a tree(hurts alot more). When you swing it it sounds like a whip. That is then used against the childs behind until they learn their lesson. I use to get alot of those. Some lessons were learned some not so much. So kept getting more lessons.
I live in how affordable housing and one of my mutual friends lives over the wall from me and her family bought her a bmw after she totaled her last one and for prom she wanted to borrow her aunts lambo . Crazy how different it can be only a few hundred feet away
a switch is a thin branch taken from a tree and stripped of all leaves. it is used in spankings and typically is scarier because you have to pick it yourself lmao
Where is tiffs shirt from !? Been eyeing it off for ages I want

In scientific tests, there is an 89% chance of nearby residents of pig farms and any other livestock farms causing thousands of people to contract deadly diseases from the feces escaping the farm compounds and are responsible for countless deaths each year.
why so surprised. those villagers are and grew up poor and when you're faced with money, your human nature shows. no big deal. if you were in their shoes, you would do the same.
This further proves how disconnected billionaires are from the rest of society. No regular person would think that giving more than is needed would help anyone better themselves. People need to struggle to learn to appreciate valuable things.
so i didnt know what a switch was cos my mum beat me her bare hands/shoes or the wire from my console but according to urban dictionary a switch is :A flimsy tree branch used for whoopin' kids asses! Why do these people think they have the right to ask for more than what the had? The entitlement. You had a way worse house, now for free someone has rebuilt it all, and you expect more than 1? What.

This is what i'd do if I was a billionaire, but this also shows that you have to lay down rules, cause even poor people get greedy. These people were blessed WERE BLESSED!! Perfect ending
deadb4youknow but what is a switch??

You asking that shows you had a very ... safe upbringing :P
It’s a stick. When we were kids and we acted up our grandparents would send us out side to get a switch “stick” and you get your ass beat. And if you picked some flimsy ass stick you get beat twice.
According to urban dictionary, switch means a person who vaccilates between dominant and submissive roles within sexual relations.
I like how when Tiffany said "What's a switch?" David's expression of laughing just disappeared immediately but maybe that was just perfect timing.
FAWAMA co tbh what is a switch?
I have no idea either
Melmeister I think he means light switch.
A switch is a part of a weed that you pull off and it hurt like hell when you get hit by it trust me it really hurts
So when people tell there kids go pick out your switch there saying go pick out your whip to spank you with
Boze is one of the best guest this year

Now that's how you billionaire ^^
But NOT how to poor.
cutcc Ikr he's basically just playing Sims in real life
It's a shame how these people broke his heart though. If that happened to me I would probably shy away from doing this kind of charity from then on...
If I had that much money I would do same and create schools

Is it just me or does the camera on Joe and David look blurry?
David face at the end has me dieing
Damn, greedy-ass village. Couldn't get my ac unit fixed w/o countless reminders to my landlord, and they want more from the billionaire?

David's face when Tiff asked "What's a switch?" cracked me the fuck up. I've only seen parents do that face when they realize their kid is a dumbass

Boze is so great.
David so said when a jkp video hits 1 million views, he would play
Play what?

Definitely agree with David. I didn't know how poor I was until I went to a PWI where 25% of the students' parents made over $600,000 a year.
600 wtf
FakidOFtheBlock Gg yeah tbh it wasn't too surprising when i saw the stats because people would use name brand Chanel bags just to carry books and would throw out TVs and electronics at the end of the semester bc they didn't feel like moving it
now that's what I call giving back to the community
1.Bobby 2.Steve 3.Theo Von 4.Boze We need an episode with bobby and steve!
It's sad how people let greed get in the way of good shit.
I remember reading this story about an NFL rookie. He didn't know what to do with a check. Nobody in his family had a checking account.
Rupert Bletchford Now That is fascinating. Not to know what a checking is in this day and age. Even the people in the village know what that is, even if they don’t have one.
Is the T-shirt Bart is wearing on sale on the Barbell Brigade website? I can't find the T-shirt version, only the sweatshirt.
insert jojo's to be continued theme at davids face at the end lmao
I love the JK family

wait what IS a "switch"
Fr I’ve never been on a family vacation before 💀 I’ve went to visit family but that’s not a vacation 😭😂
Are you sure its a oxymoron, village is designated by size not cost.
A switch is the difference between England and Great Britain
Roflmaoo, I need David's explanation of a "switch" to Tiff. Let's just say it's a very useful ass whoopin' tool.
basically, for people in the states at least, if you're poor your whole life, you're just bad with money.
so i didnt know what a switch was cos my mum beat me her bare hands/shoes or the wire from my console but according to urban dictionary a switch is :A flimsy tree branch used for whoopin' kids asses! Usually picked by the person who is about to get the ass whoopin'. Switch's grow on all trees and can be used if there is no belt or shoe around.
I thought I grew up privileged until I went to college.
this what happened when people get too much, even though they don't deserve it
Earning is better than taking free
I used to be poor, I still am but I used to to.
"GET A SWITCH FROM OUTSIDE" every black kids nightmare
I think it’s important to take into consideration that their greed and lack of morals/etiquette is due to the Cultural Revolution :/ where all the ancient Chinese principles were thrown out the window
I would give them 3 months if they dont figure this shit out! I'm bulldozing everything out!
The rest should just be rented off
Why do these people think they have the right to ask for more than what the had? The entitlement. You had a way worse house, now for free someone has rebuilt it all, and you expect more than 1? What.
I'm just curious as to what they would even do with more than 1. Those places were huge.
so what is a switch
oh its a think branch taken from a tree, it is used as boze said for spankings
omgstoptakingnames it is a piece of a long plant or a weed you pull off that hurts to get hit with or for little kids to get spank with
My grandma told me grab the one with the most thorns
you gotta pick the thick branches fam...unless they go out and pick for you. They'll pick them HELLLAA THIN ones so you can hear that thing fly through the air and that STTINNGGSSSS on impact.. the thicker ones don't sting after as much.
They don't deserve it

Tiffany had a switchless life i'm happy for he, but sad for me. I didn't even know what I did have the time.
Chillow does exist but it’s just a really cold pillow
So ungrateful smh 🤦🏽♀️
