I hear about bigger than 30 lb cats here all the time. I tell them about any cat over 30 pounds here is yellow, has a flat head and stays under rocks in the river. Another good solid video.
We get some giant cats up in northern Wisconsin. It’s not uncommon to have them over 40 pounds but they can get some age on them due to a very limited quota and guys being picky due to waiting 3-10 years for a tag. Some other good spots in big woods country are old logging road intersections and edges of big swamps that hold a lot of snowshoe hares. Good info Dale. I never get tired of finding a cat in my set! Hope you had a good show at the NTA!
I've been wondering how to target big toms, our December season is before breeding time.If you could elaborate on lure types or hot shot or set preferences, pretty much brush county here.
It's legal to trap road right of way here in Louisiana but you won't keep your traps or your catches very long unless it's under a bridge or culvert. Most of the problems come from land owners adjacent to the road ,sad but true
it is something how cats use the same crossings year after year . my best tom so far was 31 pounds . it was caught in a red clay ditch drain that ran from cutover to an oak ridge . there is always cat tracks in that red clay drain .
200 traps Dennis. My ex partner did get them back after the guy who took them died. He never called me to see if I wanted my share back. He kept them all. He was a "great " partner.
Ken if you don't want to trap that's your business. I can trap. I can sell my fur. Is it banner prices? Nope not even close. But it's what I do. And that's my business. I appreciate you watching. Thank you

Why would you bother trapping your fur isn't worth shit even in Montana where we have good fur don't make it worth it.
