  • This video explains the designer's vision behind the Keb Series and shows the key features of the Keb Trousers and the Keb Jacket. Launched in 2011, Keb is a series of technical outdoor garments that have been developed for demanding treks where freedom of movement is just as important as durability and protection from difficult terrain.

    Great to learn something new! Never thought of that loop inside the jackets frontpocket to secure things with. I will get use of this function. 👍🏻 I use this jacket as an everyday jacket and for outdoor adventures, just love it.

    Elisabet, I have 4 pairs of Kebs here in Alaska, from various years, and have been able to track design changes over time. The newest pair have the thigh vent zip direction reversed, instead of pulling from the top down to the knee, like the older versions do for the fastest vent, they zip up from the knee to the upper thigh. As this is fighting gravity, this requires you to hold the trouser leg either with your hand, or balance on one foot and use the other to hold the trouser leg in place to pull the zipper up. I hope this change isn't permanent, it's much faster to vent with the zip down.
    I have been selling people on the Kebs and Fjällräven pants ever since I bought a pair from Alex at Route 62 in Ekshärad before they were ever available in the US! Also, very envious of your job, it's a great company and the design team is very talented.

    I love the high pockets in stretch material. Game changer for me because it redefines the concept of "pocket binocular". The binocular business defines 28mm object lens of handheld binoculars as upper limit for "pocket size". But I easily bring my 32mm bino in the Fjallraven stretch pockets, and I could probably go even higher.

    Wearing Keb Jacket in 3XL. Love it like my No. 68 jacket (2XL). I'm sure I will not find a fitting size of Keb pants, as I'm too short and strong in the legs. It remains a pity that the current cuts most often reflect only slim people, as in this video. So my money needs to stay in my pockets, and I could buy quite a lot more. On the Keb trousers, pockets on the front of a leg are usually a bad idea, as the stuff inside travels with the leg movement the longest distance and will feel desturbing. My cut short Barents Pro in size 60 have a leg front and leg side pocket and I only like the side one. The front leg one does not feel comfortable when loaded with gear as explained.

    The Achilles heal on all these trousers are the zippers. The fabric last a lifetime the zippers maybe two years. Believe me I've used Fjällreven for 40 years.

    First, I love Fjallraven design, quality materials and innovation - that go into their outerwear. Second, I would like to suggest a bottom zip on the Keb Fleece hoodie. This would allow for better freedom of movement and would be in-line with the design of competitive products - like the Klattermusen Balder mid layer.

    The only thing i wish, is that you start producing short men's version of your keb gaiter/keb trousers. The shortest size i can find in the men's version is size 42 ( EU ), and this is ridiculous. Forcing us shorter guys to buy the women's version and thus limit us to the color black. You should sell men's pants all the way down to size 36 ( EU ) at least. I am forced to use the women's size 38 ( EU ). You make hands down the best trekking trousers there is, and i am pretty sure you would sell allot more of these pants if you start selling pants for us shorter guys as well. I am sure i am not the only person who have complained about this. not all men who hike are tall ;)

    • @RcFlyer49
      @RcFlyer49 5 років тому +1

      The sizing is not the same as U.S. sizing. I just want to make sure you realize this. I wear a 46 EU regular and I'm 5'9" 135lb. I normally wear a 32x32 in U.S. sizing. The Fjallraven website should have a conversion chart.

    I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them! First for the look and then for the way better funcionality compered to most other trekking trousers. I just don't understand why use cotton (35%) for technical trousers which then you still have to wax etc. just to obtain what you usually have with a typical synthetic softshell?

    • @pajamash
      @pajamash 5 років тому

      More fire resistance than a full synthetic fiber

    • @Make_America_Trump_Again
      @Make_America_Trump_Again 4 роки тому

      I would bet one big reason is because the cotton absorbs the wax very well. And then you can dewax it for hotter, drier conditions.

    If the knee pad area is for kneeling down on then why is it positioned above the knee? When you kneel down you contact the ground lower than the knee pad area or just on the seam.

    I have just ordered a pair of Keb trousers but, I am not so sure that they are the 2019 version. How can I check this? The hip zip opens downwards, there is 2.5cm between the bottom seam and the bottom of the zip and the bottom seam is too sturdy to unsew. Also, I believe the trouser bottoms are a little tighter on the calves on the 2019 model, which is why I initially ordered this pair.

    Finns det planer på ett ställ med bättre andningsfunktion?
    Gillar allt med KEB, utom G1000 materials andningsfunktion. Jämfört med jaktkläder i motsvarande prisklass är dessa mkt bättre på andningsfunktion än G1000, även med GoreTex i jaktkläderna. Ventilationsöppningarna i KEB, räcker inte till för att lösa problemet.

    •  4 роки тому

      Hej, Vi har inga planerade ändringar när det gäller Keb jacka/byxa. Den har stretch som ger en bra andningsförmåga. När det gäller G-1000 så ger ett ovaxat tyg maximal andningsförmåga medan en vaxat tyg ger sämre andningsförmåga men bättre vindavvisande effekter och även mot lätt regn.

    1:39 just a thought: maybe in the future we could have garments with seams outside rather than inside because if you think about it, there is really no point to have the seams inside, it’s only something we are told to do, but in real life human skin has hardly any seams at all.
