It's such a relief knowing this absolute masterpiece of a game will be playable in November. It's the first game in years im super excited to play, haven't felt that for a long time now.
While I want to see the shadow with traps and thrown weapons next, I expect they'll show off the templar next. ARPG fans are chomping at the bit for some holy archetype fun
I'm curious about holy. Occult will pretty well be chaos damage but in poe1 holy spells are generally present as either phys/fire or phys/lightning so they would come under the elemental tag. Haven't seen anything to suggest a new damage type. But I'd love it.
Wording is very important when you "announce " things in a video. Open beta isn't the same as Early access (that will happen in November). I'm sure you noticed how do many comments are confused, and now think early access in november is going to be pay to opt-in. What is going to be probably paid access is an open beta, that will most likely happen in a few weeks, BEFORE November
As someone that likes minions, I'm really not feeling like the current iteration of minions will work out well for PoE2, neither do I think the "cast on x" will work out well. It feels weird to me that they would keep them like this considering everything else that's changed. Also there really needs to be more details in-game about what the minions do (what skills they use, their damage, etc). Including for spectres or whatever they are called now. For "cast on x" for example they could instead make "give x buff on x" that would provide different temporary benefits for different skills you can use that aren't necessarily related only to damage. Here's a concrete example that I made up on the spot... so for example you could have "Grant fire morph on stun"... and this "fire morph" would change how various skills work and what they do, for example it could make something like Killing palm summon a fireball from the palm as it strikes an enemy... or perhaps it won't even need to strike the enemy anymore to be activated. This in itself would now be supportable by stuff like multiple projectiles or return projectile and so on. Endless possibilities with stuff like that. A lot to consider for balancing to be sure but endlessly more fun to play around with then just bland automation.
Does anyone know if purchasing a support pack on poe1 will guarantee access to early access? because I already spent a good amount on poe1, I wouldn't want to have to buy another one
Speaking of "Bind Specter", is it possible to capture 4-5 mini-boss and use those as summons instead of the normal skeletons ? Imagine having 4-5 specters with different auras / warcries buffing each other and yourself.
It is confirmed that every spectre will have a certain powerlevel and spirit cost. So if you capture a more powerful monster, you have to reserve more spirit for each, and therefore can only have like 5 or 6, compared to maybe 10 or 12 smaller monsters.
@@Zenbubbles That is very nice. I also saw somewhere you have a "command" ability to use a minion ability. Skeleton archer poison arrow that falls from the sky for instance. I assume the specters' abilities are autocast, otherwise it would be a nightmare to code having 5-6 different miniboss and be able to manually cast their abilities.

You only find uncut gems on the ground, no normal skill gems. When you find one, it has a certain level (say lvl 3). Now you can use that lvl 3 uncut gem to create a lvl 3 skill gem of your choice. If you would like to raise the level of your lvl 3 skill gem, you need to find or buy a higher level uncut gem and apply it. The genius of this system is that whenever you find a higher level uncut gem, you need to choose between upgrading one of your old skills, or choose a whole new skill to add to your skill pool. It makes leveling way more interesting.
I hope they add the ability to use the same character movement with the mouse as we have with POE. I cant use WASD keys due to a wrist issue and as a result cant play games that use WASD.
I’ll admit I’m not too happy about the gem leveling situation. Unless we’re getting loads of them I would rather level them up like we do in poe1. I guess we will just have to see
A big thing i feel nobody has talked about much, Yes we can have 8+ 6links. However each gem takes 5 of an attribute, so EVERY gem we socket will require a travel node or Affix support. Having all 6links is likely a heavy investment, and leveling with 3-5 skill which can combo will feel nice, however the support gem supports might be tight very early on.

There is a LOT of attack skills in the PoE2 at the moment. Even the skill table is sorted due to weapon types (axe / staff / bow / ... ) not by element (fire / lightning / chaos / ... ). Will it be a game where you are forced to atttack with spells, that only suports your attacks and cause some effects? - crowd control, slow ,freeze, etc? It will be kind of game of Witchers...
I would love to see Righteous Fire and who knows, ways to change it with support to not be only fire based. Make it a lightning that shock instead of burn or and for freeze. Make it holy to destroy quickly the undead (but would deal less damage on living). I understand that 1-2 buttons builds will be less powerful but for people with disabilities, these will be a must have on day 1 or they will move on to a different game.
I'm so hyped about the spear archetype, spears have always been my favorite weapons, they're THE og weapon even IRL and i hate that they're often not used in video games, they could do so many cool stuff with them, they could go ancient greek style with a hoplite setup or go chinese or japanese style, i played enough dynasty warriors to know there's a lot of thing you could do with that, i wanna make a character using only a spear SO bad
Specters were kings for a few leagues ... anyone that has played long enough remembers the syndicate operatives that were so op, you would decimate anything. Literally walking simulator.
I hope there's 2 different types of swords, the smaller swords that you can duel wield with quick attacks and then a two handed sword which is more weighty and slower. Both would share the same skills on the skill tree but depending on which you're playing the skills would be radically different in terms of speed and feel.
Poison concoction is my fav skill and it throws life flask charges sooo I'm sure its either a total different skill or or removed. I know they said they didn't remove any skill but it may not be added yet aka not removed just not used, looking forward to seeing what it is. I'm thinking it will be a pocket grenades for poison bow builds or melee skills. I hope its not just a crossbow bomb
If Ignite is a thing in PoE2, skills like Hammer of the Gods which as a very long CD but insanily high hit damage, could be really good for bossing. IF we find ways for it to ignite, obviously.
i feel like the gem changes make it look like Diablo 3. i feel like they are throwing away some of the charm for convenience that players don't need. the challenge of fitting the gems in items with the right combos was kind of part of the endless search for a better item. if they make it too simplistic it will be d3.
i am confused is it open to anyone or supporters ? they said the way to get to poe2 in november was buying it and to do so you need to be an older supporter but then you said "me" the viewer can play it ... dang im lost sry im being just dumb
Gems no longer being socketable is the biggest win for me (aside from all the movement upgraded of course). I remember being frustrated whenever I found a better item but with sockets that did not allow me to carry over all my gems from the current item. BTW having to pay to get into early access isn't an "open" early access. It's as "open" and Diablo 4 closed beta that required you to pre order the game lol
i hope they cut down the tree aswell, when a tree is that big it does not give you options,it just makes you wana find a copy pasted tree because you dont want to bother

all I want is a ranslor's folly like effect with tornadoes
enervation worries me, I hope it doesn't have generator/spender system
i feel like the gem changes make it look like Diablo 3. i feel like they are throwing away some of the charm for convenience that players don't need. the challenge of fitting the gems in items with the right combos was kind of part of the endless search for a better item. if they make it too simplistic it will be d3.
i am confused is it open to anyone or supporters ? they said the way to get to poe2 in november was buying it and to do so you need to be an older supporter but then you said "me" the viewer can play it ... dang im lost sry im being just dumb
Cant say that like forcing into combos with skills...i prefer simplier gameplay.
Same engine for both games.. i have 12FPS on poe... i'm worry about poe2
It would be interesting to see a "relic" type of offhand item that would enable Divine spells
i hope they cut down the tree aswell, when a tree is that big it does not give you options,it just makes you wana find a copy pasted tree because you dont want to bother
Do you know if we can use the jeweler orb on default attack, bound spell from a staff or a wand, or stuff like that ?
