The message wasn't "Revenge is bad" it was - Love, hate, revenge & forgiveness are all same & none should overpower one's emotions more than the other. In 1st game Joel's love for ellie overpowers him. In 2nd game both ellie & abby gave up to revenge & hate so much so that both lose their self. And also the player too can't handle their emotions- aka hate for abby. Literally everyone missed this masterful insanity of a message. That all of these emotions should be in equal measures & when Ellie truly forgives joel(at the end of the game when joel's happy memory flashes infront of her eyes instead of his dying memory) she realises that this revenge, hate really doesn't matter that's why she doesn't kill abby. And abby actually realises this before ellie when her bf calls her hypocrite. TLOU part 2's story is the most realistic i've ever seen unlike most things in shows movies & games they cater to unnatural stories whereas joel dying abruptly is most realistic representation of the tlou's broken world. OFC abby backstory need polishing like how she really doesn't have any goal in the flashback etc. & the pacing issues.

Amazing. And the rest of the casting was amazing too ... for the game and show.
