My schedule got messed up last week and you didn't get any Game of Thrones/ASOIAF history videos. :( So Mance is today and Pentos tomorrow (Monday). Cross my heart! Thanks for dealing with my goof-up. ❥❥❥
Rawrist for you I would wait until the sun rises in the West and sets in the east, till the oceans dry up, and the mountains fall like leafs in the wind
I defiantly feel that the "King Beyond the Wall" is one of the more interesting characters. I'd hate to see him escape death once at the Wall, just to find it a bit further south.
I like the way you present the information in a clear and concise way. The tv show has messed with what I remember from the books. Thank you for this upload! 😊ps: this will sound odd, but you have a really soothing voice!
I love your ASOIAF videos. Your analytical depth is constantly impressive considering your time restraints. Ive only been into ASOIAF and The Walking Dead but your smooth delivery, visuals, and timing have opened the doors to so much more for me. You should do a little more on book theories. I im sure Aswell as many others am curious to get your take on TWOW or TWD. Well thank you for all the hard work. YOUR AWSOME!!!
Life happens, and your videos are definitely worth the wait. Assuming the Pink Letter wasn't solely an excuse GRRM came up with to find a way to leave us with a cliffhanger on Jon's fate, then my guess is Mance himself wrote the Pink Letter as a way to tell Jon he had found a way to defeat Melissandre's glamour and was not working for Jon anymore and wanted to check out the Winterfell crypts for the Horn. That's the only thing I could think of that would make Jon act so idiotic by going south of the wall to get the Horn from Mance and possibly the Boltons. Some would counter Mance is being an idiot because of his son (in actuality Gilly's son) being a hostage at the Wall, but Val could of told Mance that his son was switched with Gilly's and thus know Jon has nothing to hold over him. The only possible counter to this though is Jeyne Poole blowing their cover and the alarms going off at Winterfell right before Theon takes Jeyne and jumps over the Winterfell battlement, but Mance could of written the letter before that or something goes down in TWOW that allows Mance the time and means to send a raven to Castle Black with the letter.
Obviously the show is going for a truncated version on many plots, so in the show I think the pink letter is from Ramsay. In the books I am much more inclined to think the pink letter came from Mance himself, that he is alive and well hiding in the crypts of Winterfell, and that he may just be Arthur Dayne Sword of the Morning. Thanks for the new video!
Love your videos! You cover my two favorite fandoms: GOT/Star Wars. Although I have never read the books, I love the lore of this universe. Keep up the great work!
With the way the escape went in the book I think most likely Mance is dead but he is a very cagey guy and with the ability to glamor himself it would be sweet if he actually survived.
MR=RT used to be one of my favorite ASoIaF fan-theories. Partly because I wanted him to say "Hello boys, I'm back" to Westeros and "Jon, I am your father" and I don't even subscribe to R+L=J. Hahaha Mance is still my third favorite character in the books and show. Thanks for the video, Rawrist.
What do you think of the alternative theory that Mance is Ser Arther Dayne and 2of the others men of the kings guard suposededly dead but all working together in secret for the prince that was promised? Targarion restoration, bringing home Ashara, and declaring the new Sword of the Morning. All to protect the realm. There are many intricacies to this theory but GRRM never was one to make life easy!
How many people in the ASOIAF use a great-sword at all, much as expertly as Mance (disguised as Rattleshirt)? Why would a Crow have a great-sword in the first place? They're big, clumsy, they require a ton of high quality metal that make 2-3 normal sized swords, and you need a very skilled smith to make one. Any why, to fight Wildlings? GRRM made it a point to show that Mance didn't want the longsword but instead wanted the great-sword, why?
Glockler That's one of the reasons I don't think Mance is who he claims to be. That's not a weapon for a man of the watch but a knight would definitely know how to swing it and the way he brings Jon down. Just playing with him. We know Jon's the best on the wall and against his brothers he's no slouch but this guy hand his ass to him.
Why wouldn't he go that far North? Also, what signs of being Dornish do you expect? Keep in mind Dayne is Story-Dornish, who have far more in common culturally with the Andals and First Men than with the Roynish.
I think the pink letter is false and that it was written either by Mance or someone in Stannis's camp, possibly Asha since it has quite a bit of Reek language in it and he basically spilled the whole story to her. If the Bolton's had conquered Stannis as the letter claims, there would be no need to demand Reek, since Reek was with Stannis and would be back in his custody.
SERIOUS QUESTION with *SPOILERS* included...... Quick, off-topic question - Do you think, maybe not in season 7 rather 8, do you think it could be possible that Arya kills Sansa?? I know it sounds mad, but I´ve been thinking about it a lot a lot a lot a lot!! Not sure if anyone else has thought this, but I DO I remember Ned saying to Arya, "Try not to kill your sister with it...", When he discovers that she has Needle. Another point, is that in the original letter that George.R.R. Martin writes to his publisher back in 1993/4 or something, he metions five people who would survive the whole way through: Tyrion, Danny, Arya, Bran and Jon... NO Sansa.... Also, in both the books and show, Melisandre and the Ghost of Highheart, tell her that she has a dark heart is going to kill lots of people, and we´re told over and over and over how the KINSLAYER is accursed......... I thought Sansa would be one who could end up with "A" queen title, NOT "the" queen, but I thought she´d do well, but now I´m not too sure.... What say thou?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Caiso, for now.....
Origin stories can be fake, and Rheagar was not killed by Robert on the trident, it was someone else who use glamoring to look like Rhaegar. Rheagar's armor had rubies, which are used for glamor. There's even more evidence, and I am too lazy to write it here. Just look it up.
I believe the pink letter is what it claimed to be. A boasting, threatening letter written by Ramsey. The repeated use of the word 'bastard' is clearly a childish provocation by a former, but now legitimised, bastard.

You misspelled Arthur Dayne.

+salvatornado Thanks for watching :)
Hey Rawrist, next time you do a GoT news video, can you comment on the rumor that Alys Karstark will be in the show?
Glad you're back m'lady. I was really disappointed with show-Mance, I miss his epic bardieness :(
Love your videos! You cover my two favorite fandoms: GOT/Star Wars. Although I have never read the books, I love the lore of this universe. Keep up the great work!
I can't wait for season 7! It's sooooo close!!
Mance is Ser Arthur Dayne in disguise, it is known!
love your videos. where do you get all your information???
The One True King and The Real Mannis.
With the way the escape went in the book I think most likely Mance is dead but he is a very cagey guy and with the ability to glamor himself it would be sweet if he actually survived.
What about ygritte (prob spelled that wrong) kinda insinuating that the wildings might have dug up the others looking for the horn
I want to know who Mance really is, do you think we will have to wait until a Dream of Spring to find out or The Winds Of Winter!
Love all ur vids
MR=RT used to be one of my favorite ASoIaF fan-theories. Partly because I wanted him to say "Hello boys, I'm back" to Westeros and "Jon, I am your father" and I don't even subscribe to R+L=J. Hahaha

Why didn't Mance Rayder attack unmanned parts of the Wall rather than at Castle Black ?
They should've filmed this flashback of Mance at Winterfell

Jennifer Bonini Did you get that from Order of the Green Hand? I love their theories but some of them are very out there.
Very few knights would know how to use it, it's a very specialized weapon.
Why wouldn't he go that far North? Also, what signs of being Dornish do you expect? Keep in mind Dayne is Story-Dornish, who have far more in common culturally with the Andals and First Men than with the Roynish.

Creationsofmyown I'm a huge fan of their work
Long live the king
Mance is Rhaegar! It's obvious! Wake up sheeple!
Joker0002710 Rheagar died by Robert Baratheons war hammer in the Battle of the Trident.
Except, you know, Rhaegar was cremated after being killed by Robert - www.westeros.org/Citadel/SSM/Entry/Asshai.com_Forum_Chat
+Diallo Williams Rhaegar is obviously Dario. Take your head out of your ass.
Origin stories can be fake, and Rheagar was not killed by Robert on the trident, it was someone else who use glamoring to look like Rhaegar. Rheagar's armor had rubies, which are used for glamor. There's even more evidence, and I am too lazy to write it here. Just look it up.
Joker0002710 OK you have me intrigued with the rubies on Rheagar armor. But does the glamor fade once the person dies?
I think Mance wrote the pink letter.
I believe the pink letter is what it claimed to be. A boasting, threatening letter written by Ramsey. The repeated use of the word 'bastard' is clearly a childish provocation by a former, but now legitimised, bastard.
Ramsey is ass-whole love you Channel pretty dope
Thank you :)
