Ya this is definitely crazy! I watch and follow both of you. Your Spanish journey has definitely been a huge help in keeping me motivated to keep learning Spanish. And Paul’s channel helped me with my move to Mexico from FL. I’ve been in Merida, MX for almost a month. Paul’s videos on obtaining Mexican residency were a huge help to me!

So happy I stumbled across your video, Mike, featuring two of my favorite You-Tubers, yourself and QRoo Paul. In my glacial progress toward learning Spanish, between the two of you conversing, I managed to understand about 65-70% of what you guys were saying. I call that progress.
You're right too, about Paul being a pretty chill guy. I guess that being a former cop would make him be able to separate the important things in life from all the minor distractions of living as an expat in Mexico. He's a good teacher and you are too. Keep up the good work.

I'm glad to hear that you are understanding so much of this conversation Paul! I remember when you commented earlier and it seems like you've grown a lot. Paul is the best and I agree, working in law enforcement for so long may have helped him stay so level headed! That along with him being a genuinely chill guy is why I love watching his videos. Gracias!

@@MikeBen That's awesome. Centro is the place to be. We met at a place called La Negrita Cantina, it's a restaurant with live music and a bar.
But another good place for dancing and a good mix of mostly locals and a few tourists is Mezcaleria. Those are two great places to start. It's easy to meet people there and explore more places.

I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. This method is called: chunking. It was a real game changer in my learning process and communication skills in English and other languages.😊😊

I know I should be content with what I have which is not much for a citizen of the USA and a disabled Veteran. I feel bad when I see illegals and non illegals who have better houses, cars and clothes than I do. 😮 When I got to some countries like Panama and Mexico, I noticed the rich people who came before me had spent fortunes on properties and houses and the prices were way to high for me. Now it is worse and it’s not getting any better. I suppose I have to settle for being in the low class even in a third world country 😢! One problem is the people in these countries think because I am white, I must have tons of money and that sure doesn’t help when I need to barter for even a place to live.

Even the VA retirement homes want to take at least a third of your income which is less than what it seems some get on welfare. My best option is to live in a pueblo outside of any tourist location so I can speak Spanish not inglés. I am in a locación turística ahora y estoy enfermo de oír inglés 😡
