- howdy gamers :)) today we're going to be taking an even closer look at the newly infamous 12.97x custom game strategy, well known for being the fastest way to level up on the new Phasmophobia Ascension Update. I'll be walking you through my thought process and how to get as many ghosts right as possible, maximizing your earnings and experience (XP) using this strategy.

Fantastic vid. Thank you for taking the time to provide detail into the single most important aspect to this game, which is ghost traits. No filler and straight to the point. Love it. If you ever do an in depth trait guide I'd love to know as I will write my own notes; because I find online "cheat sheets" completely unreliable with incorrect or unhelpful information. Your information is spot on and concise. EXACTLY what we need! 😊
I like this custom setting for training on ghost hunts behaviors.
The fact that it gives a ton of xp/cash too is just bonus.
It IS very specific gameplay though. Can get boring pretty quick, and not everyone's playstyle.
For "regular gaming", I have a "near 5x" bonus, but 3 evidence, keeps monitors, no room change, and normal speeds (no sprint though).
When playing with my casual player friends and wife, this gives the best bonus for "normal investigative play". Around $1500 (2k+ if perfect game), usually 10 mins or faster on small maps if you have good strats to find the room.
Not high speed leveling, but good for casual play.

I dont know if it is the best way to play phasmo because you will get bored if you speedrun all the prestiges
i agree! it’s not the most fun way to play, but for me it’s a fun challenge since it’s zero evidence testing my ghost knowledge and whenever i feel like grinding for some levels i throw this custom on, but i definitely prefer normal games over this!
there are already people who have fr spedrun this exact method to prestige 20, they’re crazy 😭
It’s a nice method to learn ghost ability’s. Also it’s an additional method to play the game, you can go back to “normal” if u want to.
it all depends on how you want to play! I personally enjoy both this and the "normal" way to play
Well, its just an xp grind strategy, play however you'd like
I'd say I can get 40-60% of the ghosts correct. It's not that reliable but, it makes up for it by being super fast. Fastest time for me was under a minute(52 seconds).
The ghost pathing is broke now, don’t even need to loop them around the tables. Doing perfect investigations with this multiplier, you can get around 5600 XP 😊
Hey!! Nice video!! Just on the matter of confusing a Moroi with a Thaye, a Moroi can still speed up when seeing you, unlike the Thaye, which cannot, so just try to let him chase you if you're brave enough, and you'll be able to tell it pretty effectively I think.
The part I'm struggling the most with is the ghost behavior

Very useful! My only problem is my skill. Keep thinking basic ghosts are poltergeists and also keep forgetting to look at the ghosts blinks. So far I've missed 4 oni's because of it. But thats stuff that I need to work on myself with practice
I find Yurei the most difficult to sus out and my favourite ghost is the banshee.
Smudge cooldowns:
Spirit: 3m
Demon: 1m
Normal: 90s
Every time you smudge, just start your phone timer. Keep in mind they can hunt anytime AFTER that point, not at that point. So you know if it hunts at 76 seconds it’s a demon.
Also with myling, if your flashlight starts to flicker before you hear the ghost (15m) that’s how you can tell it’s a myling… there’s so many missed opportunities in the video for extra information. Thanks for the content though
Appreciate the comment! Yes the smudge timers are helpful, but the main point of this strategy is to get in and out as fast as possible. If you get a ghost with no identifiable characteristics and you’re waiting minutes just to see if it’s one of the ghosts that has a different than normal smudge timer, it kinda defeats the purpose of getting in and out fast. Of course, there’s no issue with staying in the game for longer to be 100% sure what the ghost is, but even then there’s some impossible to identify ghosts like the Jinn since the breaker is broken, or the Goryo for example.
TLDR: It's much more efficient to make an educated guess and get into another round if you're stuck on what the ghost is for too long.
I've just bought the game, level 40 now and I've had a try, I manged to get a deo which was the only 1 I managed to get right. I'll keep trying
I prefer doing that on tanglewood. Safer to hide and listen + the power button can tell a lot of things too

Instead of fog do windy. Fog is pretty bad. Windy makes u see alot clearer, especially when looking for orbs.
For me it doesn’t make that big of a difference but windy is a viable option!
All of this is great and all, but is there any solutions for... not panicking, fearing dying in video games (even when I backed up my save)? Every time it hunts, my mind is barely watching to see what the ghost is doing, but more on watching myself to make sure I don't fuck up. Normally I do everything I can to *prevent* the ghost from ever hunting (but not making it too easy either).
Are there any better options that don't involve risking my life? I know that's part of the game and "that's what makes it fun", but not everyone shares what is 'fun'. ..I just want to rank up.
I've spent more time learning (with evidence) what the ghost is, than learning how to keep the ghost from killing me. So it's hard to focus while focusing on.. not dying.
I totally get where you're coming from, but at the end of the day this is a horror game and it may be in your best interest to realize that sometimes you are going to die and that's just how it goes, dying in this game can teach you a lot about how to get better :)
@@Jankoos Dying four times in a row for failing to keep the ghost away from me while trying to listen for its footsteps, the only thing it's 'taught' me is this is getting annoying quite quickly. And wishing there was a less risky way that still awarded this much XP.
I can't really remember "wait, this ghost is doing XYZ!" when staying alive is a higher priority for me. The fear/anxiety overwhelms my ability to think.
All I want is to get my equipment to Tier 2 (at least).
@@BenieTheDragon I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, in most video games anyways, the harder the difficulty the better the rewards... I'd recommend sticking with Amateur or Professional if you're worried about dying.
@@BenieTheDragon boss nothing wrong with just chilling on a lower difficulty, i started over 1yr ago and still make mistakes but realised the only way i can improve is to make them and improve on it, the better you get the less panicked you become and bam you start getting good.(i make mistakes over time, i also overthink the ghost type and will change it to the wrong ghost last second). the best way to remove fear from looping is to simply, loop. 1 step at a time and you will be as good as @Jankoos if not better. regardless have a marvellous day

what are the settings you use? i feel like woodwind is pitch black when i play on it
Im struggling with looping, somehow this ghost always outlasts my smudges (2) and ends up catching up to me. Is there a strat Im missing?
If i go in with just the default loadout, will i lose my stuff i got stored in my base if i die?

Yes you can, the banshee has a chance to roam towards its target without leaving EMF 2, which in this case is always going to be you since it’s solo. it also prefers singing ghost events :)

@@Jankoos Oh, you're actually right. Wraith does something similar, leaving a level 2 EMF after the teleport when it's passive, but it's way better using the salt. I don't want to risk myself if it's a Raiju while testing it lol.
