Well, it has the same design as the type 66 siamese mauser of thailand its also the same design but the bolt is completely different on the arisaka and on the siamese type 66 mauser.

I'm honest, sometimes I get confused with the type 99, they are almost identical 😓
The only difference between the both of them is what they are chambered in. The 38 is chambered in 6.5×50mm while the 99 is chambered in 7.7×58mm
The Type-99 has a shorter barrel length compared to the Type-38 and has a more aperture rear sight
