My favorite part of the movie that I still enjoy now as much as I did when I was 11 years old. Thanks for the posting so another generation can enjoy. How things were much simpler back then....
@hd146233 Thanks for the added background information. And yes indeed, RIP Vincent. It is quiet sad to think that this boy passed away albeit having lived a full life working as a producer, I believe, in London.
this is a great interpretation of this fine work by eybler - it should be re-recorded with todays sound quality by the choir and orchestra - thanks liberagemma!
Ferdinand Silhanek was the double of Tony. Here is a sound recording made in 1962. That "video" is not avalable in Germany cause the problems of YT with the GEMA: ua-cam.com/video/GP_cO-crm4M/v-deo.html
No, Vincent Winter did a beautiful job lip-synching to another boy's singing. The little (very) blonde boy that you catch a glimpse of in the end scene of the movie when they are singing in Australia (with Peter Schaeffer conducting) is the actual choir boy who sang Vincent's parts.

29Dec 2018 Happy Birthday Vincent . You no doubt are singing with the Angels . B
The name of the soloist was Ferdinand Silhanek. I recommend to ask Google...:)
How extraordinary. I remember seeing part of the film when I was a child and being disappointed! It was too "different" for a child.
Wine gets better with age
Really? This was my favorite film as a kid. :)

Several members of the Rank Chorus, who came to Japan in the fall of 1961, performed. The author of "Little Song" was no longer graduating.
A life altering moment! Seriously.
In what way ? . B
Ausgezeichnet!!

Also does the beginning sound like "Papageno's Song from the Magic Flute?
Is it actually Vincent Winter singing? I love this.

I wonder how many takes it took to get this to Mr Previn's satisfaction . I imagine it took a few days . Anyway the end result was magical. V
The singing looked very convincing to me.
Is this solo at written? Other recordings on UA-cam have the women singing down an octave in parts.
Not the Karlskirche with its two columns, but the Piaristen kirche von Maria True, which has a single column.
Is it actually Vincent Winter singing? I love this. If it's not him singing does anyone know who it is.
Was Vinvent singing that? I thought it was anohter boy doing the voice over work is it? Becuase he is not Austrian? ^^
Anyone know what church this is?
St Stephens cathedral I think
St peters church Vienna
The second solo at 4:30...:)
tony's 1st solo entrance is a bit sharp but the 2nd time he nails it - probably planned that way...
