Everyone overestimates weight on fish, it’s just human nature. I wasn’t there but I don’t think that was a 5 pounder 😬 plus no one put put their hand up for size reference like Fabio 😳
@@TylerKTanaka I’m pretty decent at eyeballing fish, but I do underweight on most my calicos from what I’m learning🤷♀️. They are much heavier than a largemouth bass being that they’re more muscle, so by judging like it’s a “bass”, it’s very easy to under scale calicos by eyeball
Fly an American plane from Tijuana Airport to Cedros Islands. It's a group of islands. I've done it, no problem. Driving length of Baja takes too long. No advantage for fishing. Or stay in hotel, and fish out of Cabo San Lucas. Winter is good. Try and stay long time. Week, ten days. Better chance against weather & water. 😊😊
Bruce is right, fly out of TJ boarder. Check out my playlist "Cedros 2023" and watch episode one to get a better understanding of the operation. But quick summery, drive to CBX airport. From there, you'll cross the boarder by foot in the actual airport itself. Your group gets on a 12 passenger private charter plane, and flies striaght to Cedros Island. When you land, your concierge will pick you up, and drive you straight to the lodge. No issues on the island. Everyone knows everyone being that it is a small population, and everyone helps each other out wherever is needed.
Trinidad can cast further with a well trained thumb, but a saltiga casts smoother with less issues in my personal opinion. Both have a lot of power and are super durable, and I love casting both. I do think if you’re trying to decide between the two though, it would be worth feeling them both in hand at a tackle shop before making the decision
Sometimes the release is more rewarding than the meat. A lot of us on these trips, go out for the passion of the sport and only want to keep what we know is enough. So we try not to kill for limits, and instead keep what we know we can eat and or give away extra.
I assume all of the outfits for Cedros Island do the same, but with Cedros Sportfishing, your fish gets cleaned portioned and profetionally vacuume sealed, and goes back home frozen on the plane with you. Each person is allowed 74lbs total weight, which includes all carry on, luggage, reels, tackle and gear, and fish processed. Lighter you pack, the more fish you can take home.
such a sick one ray!
Thanks Dylan, much love brotha!
Gotta get my first yellow on surface iron this year🤙🏽
Definitely gotta check that off the list!
Hell yah dude. We have an extra spot in August if you want to come.
I will be out there in July already, thank for looking out though!
Nice move dude, Under, under and to the back/other side.
Gotta keep following your fish! No angle no tangles
Yeaaaaaahhhhh‼️
Yeeewww!🤙
I’m calling 3.5 lbs on Sean’s calico 😉
Check the video before, Reggie and I were in debate on 3lbers lol!

I'll take 3.5. LOL
@@seansimmons7683 5lber all day! Bring a good digital scale this time, I guarantee you you’ll catch multiple that’ll weigh over 5

What pound line are you using
I run 50# mono for my surface irons topshots when I’m in Baja.
In the states, usually 40# topshot
What brand mono top shot do you use? Do you run a piece of floro carbon to the lure?
I really like izorline XXX, for Baja fishing I run about 80-100yards of 50#.
For fishing in California, usually about 80yards of 50#
Do you guys drive down to mex or fly? I wanna make my first trip down there but isn’t it sketchy traveling?

@@Dirty.Hookers awesome thank you guys for the info! Tight lines gentlemen
TRINIDAD OR SALTIGA ? . Which one cast better ? Which one like butter/smoother drags while fighting a fish ? Which one smoother while winding ? 👀

@Dirty.Hookers I have , which one has smoother drags , if you don't mind ??
What setups are you using for the Saltiga and the Trinidad?
My saltiga was pared with my Phenix Axis 1009HJ, and my Trini was paired with an Axis 909HJ
what reel are you throwing the irons with?
I was personally using a Shimano Trinidad 16A and a Daiwa Saltiga 35 SD
@@Dirty.Hookers thanks
Whitefish on the iron is fucking nuts
Hahaha it was on a backlash, but I’m still claiming it😂
10:12 How come nobody keeping them even the YT, why they not keeping?

Which reel cast better. Saltiga or Trinidad?
I think the saltiga casts more user friendly with less backlashes, but the Trinidad with the right trained thumb will outcast distance wise
What line do you have on that Trinidad 20
Sorry just seeing this. Both my Saltiga SD 35 and Trini 20, I run 65# braid backing and leave enough room for a +80 yard topshot of 50# Izorline XXX
is this cornado islands?
This is Cedros Island!
Are you guys able to bring some fish fillets home? If so, how do they package them up for the plane?
Mark. Bring filets or whole fish in ice chests? 😊😊

The white fish on the iron!!! No fucking way!!
Hahaha I picked out a good backlash for that one, but still super rad haha
Hey if you just invited some one them I'm coming to😊
Not sure if Reggie still has anymore spots. Might be worth DMing him on insta or facebook though if you're interested!
