I have been a fan of Kate's music for years, She has written some great traditional sounding folk songs. Two great CD's. "Hourglass" and "Under the stars". She appears at folk festivals around the UK, of which there are many.
Underneath the Stars. You will _love_ it.

There is no oe to compare with Kate Rusby her voice is distinctive and beautiful.
The beautiful Kate Rusby. I have seen her live five times and she was fantastic every time. She is such a lovely lady. I even got to speak to her at the Cambridge folk festival. Check out Underneath the Stars.
Saw her play at our home town Chichester it was near Christmas she sang In the bleak midwinter, we were in silent tears.

Kate recently released an album of covers of pop songs. She does a brilliant cover of Manic Monday by The Bangles

Such a sweet voice. Listening to rock, sometimes I forget some of the wonderful singers like this. May i suggest listening to Emily West sing Sia's Chandelier. She sings with a similar passion.
The man playing the guitar in the opening of the song is her husband. He is quite a musician and singer also.

That voice.
Of course, that synth, and the sound it makes, is so old that it practically counts as folk music by dint of being 'traditional'.
She's a cottage industry. Her family run their own independent label which produces her records, and various family members do her mixing, production, management and play sundry instruments.
If u want to hear the best Voice in the World, i recommend Dimash Kudaibergen, he is from kazakhstan and he breaks all the Voice rules, u can hear from him what u want.
