This subwoofer is unbeatable for $200. It doesn't get any better until you spend over $500. This isn't audiophile grade stuff. The frequency response graph is a bit all over the place, but it DOES hit as hard as some of the cheaper HSU or SVS offerings. Decent enough music sub. *Great* home theater sub, though the response falls off a cliff below 30 hz, but hey... there's no free lunch. If you want better, you have to pay for it. Still insanely good for the price. It blows away anything else at $200-300 and when you can get this for $200, there's no reason to even consider one of those weak Polk PSW108's for $150. With 4-way front towers, I found setting the crossover on my AVR to 80 Hz and setting the BIC F12 to "Digital" mode (to bypass its own crossover) to be the perfect setting.
Technically you have to set it to the lowest the mains can handle. The highest frequency crossed over should be when you can’t hear where the bass is coming from, this is usually between 70-85hz ish depending on the room and size etc.
I liked it for music too, though it sounds better when it's loud lol if this sub is within ur budget, I say go for it but if u wanna spend and extra $100 then go with PL200ii ;) I don't have it anymore, I upgraded to something else.. which I made a video of and will upload soon
Hello all. Thanks for sharing. Not getting any sound from my BIC America - 12" 500W Powered Subwoofer. I have surrond speakers in my front and rear walls; they work. Added the sub to bring home the BASE and complete the home theater sound. Is a simple "plug and play" or do I need to align the sub to my receiver? Thanks in advance!
If u have a dedicated LFE or subout from ur avr then use that, ya should be an easy plug and play. Some avr may have settings for you to let it know there's a sub connected
Sazzad is right, it sounds like you haven't told your AVR that you have a subwoofer connected. Read the manual for your receiver and it'll tell you what to do.
This subwoofer is amazing for 200$ right now in amazon
corner positions always produce booming sound 😴

We'll said, definitely agree with these points, some who's likes bass kicking sub with a budget of $200, Bic F12 won't disappoint
That's wrong, you have to set the subwoofer crossover setting to the highest, not lowest

@@lio1234234 The crossover is done by the receiver, so at the subwoofer, you set it to its highest frequency.
What reciever are you using in this setup?
Denon AVR-S530BT
So, you kept it, or returned it ? What about music ? ...thanks man.

Hey man, I have a question the “sub in” port on the back what type of cord do I need to use? To get sound from my tv to the sub?
unless your tv has a sub out or standard speaker out you need a soundbar or a receiver to hook it up .
How does this compare to the pl200ii or the newer bix acoustech h100ii???
I bought this last week and I'm thinking should I upgrade this to a PL 200 II or buy a second F12?
My personal choice would be to upgrade to a PL200 instead of 2 F12
