    I'm 2 years late to this party and around 5 minutes in. Hair Buddha is so cool. He's funny, he's so helpful (even getting out the hair colour chart - I've never seen any other hair dude do that!), he explains, tells us about new techniques that have been born, he's not OTT....i just love this bloke. Maintaining blue is harder - you have to maintain blonde, then put blue on top of it…so basically she’s shortening the process a weeeeee bit.

      I’m ash blonde who looks blonde in natural light and strawberry blonde in any artificial light with lots of natural highlights. People don’t understand this can be blonde too. Especially the greyish hue was a problem in my youth looking always a bit dirty when the hair was more lighter and less red. Now that I’m older I’m grateful since grey hair isn’t really noticeable yet. Since I’m highly allergic to hair dye I’m very happy my genes gave me this color.

Letting it grow out I’ve also had hairdressers say it’s a dirty blonde and still blows my mind that I’m technically and always have been a natural blonde lol still can’t tell you it’s actual shade color though so I’d like to know as well

    • @Isus24-s8e

      @@nataliarichter5494 Natural blonde tends to have many different tones/highlights. People often think that natural blonde is the blonde that you would get after bleach. I bet your blonde started to just gradually darken as you got older. Met a few blonde people naturally and you could tell immediately that their blonde is natural and who has blonde but after bleach. Don't worry about changing your hair tone tho it's natural throughout the years same with the texture. My hair used to get wavy naturally and i hated it so i used straightener for years. Now i wanted my waves back and it does not get as nicely wavy as it used to when i was for example 13 (I'm 22 now) wonder if it's possible to get your hair to a lighter tone naturally back tho. Bleach is always an option but it's gonna ruin the natural blonde.

    I can see why the color names and levels are unhelpful to people doing home coloring. According to the actual color tube (Madison Reed), my current shade is a light golden brown, but it is a level 7. Box colors that are close matches to this shade are usually level 6. To me, my hair looks like a medium golden brown with some highlights. I don't think anyone would ever refer to me as a blonde. On my monitor, that dark blonde swatch you showed us looks darker than my hair!
    I agree about the makeup- the brightness overwhelms her delicate coloring. I think we all go through that phase, though.

    I had a problem with blue this week. It was faded and dull. So I just put losely red over it and now I have a wonderfull purple. Losely to still keeps specks of blue for a galaxy shimmer.

    Lmao i like how you took out the hair swatch to show people who don't know what DARK blond is 😂 i just wear wigs/extensions when i want a new color, problem solved 💛

    • @Julia-nl3gq
      @Julia-nl3gq Рік тому

      It's not about people who don't know what dark blond hair is, is that's no company views it the same way. What one company calls dark blond, another calls medium brown, and another calls dark brown.
      Go look at books of swatches, and you'll see.
      The book he is using is just ONE of a million swatch books out there, all of whom see things differently.
      And I disagree with the book he is using. That is NOT dark blond, that is not even any kind of blond. It's medium brown, practically dark brown.
      Like he says, this is why you should bring a picture of the colour you want. Because no two swatch books or people see it the same way.

    • @sjb4280
      @sjb4280 10 місяців тому

      That was absolutely not a medium brown swatch. I have bought many wigs over the years and medium brown is much darker. You are welcome to disagree with his book all you want, but I'm going to entrust that the hair dresser who immediately knew the problem and those that made the hair swatches have a tad bit more expertise when it comes to color.
      Even acknowledging that different brands can have different perspectives on color, both dark blond and medium blond are much darker than what the average person thinks it is, including her. This is evidenced even more so by the fact that she kept calling it BLACK on her hair which it also obviously was not.
      I do agree it's good to show the color you want and I bet if she did she would have brought a picture of a light or golden blond, which is not the dye color she bought.

    My hair is naturally a very dark brown and some years ago I actually successfully bleached it all platinum blonde so that I could put fun colors on it. Did some pink and purple and blue and eventually it remained blue. I did not attempt to keep bleaching my regrowth because I wanted the dark roots and I would just let my hair grow out and did not add any more colors to it. The slight tint of blue remained and I would just trim my hair every few months until eventually all the bleached/colored hair was gone and I was back to my virgin natural dark brown hair. I'd say if you color your hair blue, just be willing to live with it being blue until you cut it off. Not saying I didn't like the blue, I loved it. But even though I stopped coloring it, many many months later the blue was still there and I didn't want to try to cover it up, just cut it off bit by bit until it was gone.

    Ahh struggling with my daughters blue hair currently. Her hair WAS purple but the second the bleach hit it it turned blue. This was months ago. Since then I've bleached her blue pieces over 8 times (with a 20 vol and not all in one day. It's still healthy.) I've used color stripper, I've also tried bleach wash. Still the blue remains. Pretty sure we are stuck with the blue at this point until it gets long enough to cut it out. I use to always think red was the hardest to get out of hair. Nope it's apparently blue 😂

    • @cici39177

      I went blue and it was BY FAR the hardest color to get out. I found out the hard way that bleach actually pushes it further into the hair shaft. Honestly, you may have to grow it out at this point. Dish soap helped me. Also red/orange dye added to the shampoo can help. Color stripper didnt work even though I rinsed VERY well. Eventually it turned a pale green for me and I could dye over it. Best of luck!

      When I tried to get rid of purple mine also went Blue/Green. While my hair was wet I put Suave Clarifying Shampoo on it and really worked it in. Then I put a cap on it and went to bed. It went from Blue/Green to light mint green. I conditioned it well and waited a week and repeated the process. All the mint came out and I was blonde again.

      If you want, you can try to neutralise it with orange. Look at a colour wheel and you’ll see blue and orange are opposite to one another. What you can do is mix orange dye with a bit of conditioner and make a test strand to see if it worked. The orange dye mix should be about the same level as the blue, and you should get a neutral shade once you let it sit in the hair. I recommend La Riche Directions as a good dye, because I’ve used them for years and I never got a bad result. If it’s a minty blue green, use orange with just a tad of red mixed in.
      This method is pretty good because La Riche dyes aren’t chemical, they’re direct dyes, and you’re mixing with a hair mask or conditioner so it’s actually GOOD for the hair.

    Dear @Hair-buddha Hair Buddha - Can you please explain what a dandruff shampoo really does? I really haven’t used any, as I’ve always prioritized my hair over my scalp, even if I have severe Psoriasis (which also includes my scalp). Well, when my scalp is bad, I do treat it properly, but NOT with a dandruff shampoo, because I don’t have dandruff. I hear that some find it useful somehow, but most of them have a pretty mild skin problem to put it that way. Anyways, hearing it mentioned here again, it makes me curious as to what a shampoo like Head & Shoulders really does and what it contains… Maybe you can tell us in a future video? Thanks for explaining! PS! I really enjoy your videos and have been binge watching since I stumbled over one of your videos… Interesting but also so entertaining!!! ♥️💟♥️

      Henna turns clown orange when you bleach over it. Any indigo will absolutely turn green when bleached. There's no fixing it unless you chop it off.

    Why do people who post videos always keep their earrings in? Rule 101 of bleaching is to avoid anything metalic.
    Agree about the make up though. Too much of a red lip and spider eyelashes.
