- Yesterday i covered the announcement of the digital circus coming to netflix. Since then there’s been a bit of backlash and gooseworx herself had to come out with a statement. I’ll break it down.
So alot of people were concerned about the news, and questioning if the show is still considered indie. In one tweet gooseworx states that netflix has 0 creative control over the show and they can pull out at any time. Netflix also came to them and had to agree to their terms, not the other way around.
Going on at the same time alot of murder drones fans were upset over the news, with many stating that the digital circus is stealing the spotlight while glitch’s other shows are getting forgotten.
In response to this goose did a reply politely asking for netflix to put murder drones on there next.
On tumblr goose made a post saying that she hopes that once the digital circus ends, the fans dont harass any other ongoing shows.
This is obviously referring to what the murder drones fans have been doing.
Overall i respect goose alot for making these statements and for clarifying things. I can definitely empathize with murder drones fans feeling a bit left out, but i don’t think that toxicity or hate will solve anything, especially when both shows are under the same roof and goose is rooting for murder drones to come to netflix next.

As a Murder Drones fan, I feel like TADC has done the opposite of stealing the spotlight. I became a MD fan RIGHT before TADC came out, and back then its pilot was at about 25M views. But now it's about 50M. Because TADC got so popular, more people got into Glitch Productions, and thus, Murder Drones. TADC SHED its spotlight, not steal it from Murder Drones.
It does seem like SOME** of the TADC fans went to murder drones! Fair point :p
Everything under Glitch shares the spotlight. Its like finding out a show exists because it is made by the same person who made one you really like.
This is actually exactly what happened to me! I watched tadc around December 2023 and I watched Murder Drones earlier this year in April. I thought if it was by the same people it would be good and OH I WAS RIIIGHTTTT! I love both shows now and currently have a V cat plush coming bc of how obsessed I am :3

I have to admit this but TADC was one of the main reasons why I found MD and became a fan in the first place!

As a fan of murder drones myself since late spring of last year before the pilot for TADC I genuinely never really understood the toxicity that was going on cause regarding TADC getting so much attention it also allows Murder Drones as well as Glitch’s previous series like Meta Runner to get more attention. But also I do really respect Goose for how she handled it cause she obviously properly answered the question regarding how TADC is still indie since Netflix has no creative control over the show and how she did the tweet with asking netflix to add Murder Drones too since if I remember correctly she expressed how much she enjoyed the show on twitter
I believe it started with newly created tadc fandom that started to hate on md for no reason so the other side started to do it too
@@Boxin.the tadc fandom never hated on md. not to start an argument here but md fans started to get upset (aka the whole damn point of the video) that tadc was getting more recognition and more things like more teasers when one episode of tadc literally got 300M+ views and 100M views in less than a month. And they started commenting on tadc videos saying like “when will blah come out?” or “why does this get more views”. They cant get upset that one show gets more and is treated differently when its because its more popular. Get this, if your selling two donuts, one purple (representing MD), and one red (TADC). More people like the red one, but it doesnt mean your going to leave the purple donut behind, so what you do is you make more of the red donut, and keep the purple donut the same and make the same amount that you usually do. If 300M+ like the red donut, and 50M+ like the purple one (comparing the most views in their episodes), I mean your gonna want the red to sell more. So you make the red more often and make some purple too, and suddenly someone famous comes in (aka brands, sponsorships, even netflix for example) and wants to try a red donut too, and wants you to bring it into their shop so they can get more people to come in and you get more money. Thats the same with tadc and md. Md isnt forgotten because THE SHOW LITERALLY ENDED. ❤
I agree, like everyone is saying that TADC being on Netflix is pointless as it's on UA-cam for free. So why do you want MD on there so bad? Honestly it's just like HH fans, just wanting to be toxic for the sake of it.

See back when glitch was doing teasers for the TADC pilot before it released a lot of MD fans were all being like “What about MD?!” “Focus on MD” and I even remember seeing one Instagram comment (That I think now got deleted since I don’t see it anymore) where someone said something like “Oh this is useless why promote it” like Glitch HAS to focus on Murder Drones like its the only show they made. Like I mean I understood the fact that Murder Drones was their biggest show at the time but glitch ofc now has gotten to the point where they’re able to work on two shows at once and ofc at that point they were half way done with murder drones so ofc they would focus on other projects
@@NobodyUndefined Honestly at first I never understood why TADC is being added to Netflix cause its all free to watch on UA-cam but thinking about it, it does allow more attention to indie projects kinda like how so many indie games get added to consoles (for example: Undertale, Deltarune, OneShot, ISAT, etc.) but also it would also probably catch the eye of people who don’t really like watching stuff on youtube and mainly prefer watching things on streaming services (only thing I hope about this is that they don’t put the show in the shows that are available for kids to watch since this show is supposed to be dark in both the violence sense and the psychological sense). But yeah most fans demanding MD to be added while also saying that TADC shouldn’t be added is just straight up like HH being toxic for the sake of it
I’m surprised that people don’t know that netflix only has creative control over their ORIGINAL shows. They don’t have creative control over Thomas & Friends. They don’t have creative control over Numberblocks. They don’t have creative control over Friends. They don’t have creative control over The Office. So since it’s non original, it’s completely fine

MD fans need to understand that glitch isn’t pitching these ideas to communities. the communities are coming to glitch. Tadc has more viewers so companies want some of that money. Also a lot of Md fans don’t know but md was originally going to be on Netflix but they wanted to change the name. And seeing how gore the show is that would have been censored. Not saying it can’t happen in the future. But glitch isn’t forgetting md. Big communities just want a piece of that 300m views.
I’m so tired with “fans” trying to gatekeep what “real” indie is. It’s artists getting to make their own orignal shows, that’s enough for me and those creators built their way up and deserve to be called indie imo.

As a 30-year-old Murder Drones fan, I am trying to teach these kids that are running and screaming through the fandom and attacking other fandoms that behaviour like that isn't very nice and that they need to realize sometimes shows end and they have to just accept it. It's how things go sometimes, it's better to write your own fanfics or make art and AUs than it is to make enemies

As a Murder Drones Fan the Hate is just ridiculous. I was a TADC fan BEFORE i even knew murder drones exsisted. If anything more people know about murder drones because of TADC! I'm still a massive murder drones fan and not that much as a TADC fan but I still think it's cool digital circus is being noticed by netflix and helping indie animation as a whole! I would like to see Murder drones come to Netflix tho same for helluva boss >:)

I disagree with the creative decision to only do eight episodes of Murder Drones, as I disagree with Glitch’s anti-filler approach, but I do believe that it was a creative decision and that Liam wasn’t cut short by anyone above him and that The Amazing Digital Circus didn’t steal resources from it. That was just how they chose to do things and that was how Liam wanted to do his show. I personally would’ve liked to see more Murder Drones and more character-focused episodes, but there’s no need to misplace blame or be obnoxious about it.
I think people should understand that not every indie project/animation deserves to be in a streaming service.

As a TADC fan, I just started watching Murder Drones recently and I honestly want to say that I like them both. What matters is Glitch and Goose don’t deserve it!! TADC didn’t steal Murder Drones spotlight, it SHINES on its own. Murder Drones is Murder Drones, TADC is TADC!! What’s wrong? Also, if TADC makes Glitch become popular, that means *there is some chance for Murder Drones to shines more too* since Glitch becomes more popular. These people are crazy, big respect and support for Glitch and Goose.

I would say the MD fans are right about Digital Circus kind of sterling the spotlight, but I've been a Meta Runner fan from the start, and basically the exact same thing happended after It ended with Murder Drones replacing MR as Glitch's main big new show

Honestly some Murder Drones fans need to get over it. So a show is more popular than their favorite. MD is still super popular! Besides, a show's popularity doesn't always equate to how good it is. I'm a huge fan of MD but these "fans" are a bit too much for not understanding . (Basically most fandoms have these types of fans anyways) TADC is not stealing the spotlight, TADC is introducing a lot of people about indie animation. I have never heard of MD until TADC became popular. Without TADC, I would've never found MD.

yea i can kind of understand why people got so angry (but god some people didn't have to go THAT far) since as soon as TADC came out murder drones came to an end soon after, so the timing between the shows played a big part in the backlash
i do miss murder drones and i'll admit i prefer it over the circus but i'll give credit where credit is due, and i'm glad that at least some other people are willing to do that as well

As a Murder Drones fan, Who followed the show since the First episode came out, I don't really care wether Murder Drones comes ti Netflix or not.
I personally think Murder Drones Is ok as It is. Populare enough for fan content tonbe made, not popular enough for content farms to be created.
If Glitch wants to collab with Netflix then Is fine, as long as their shows come out on UA-cam too.

I remember when Meta Runner ended, there was a lot of the show's fan that felt like MD stole the spotlight for some reason.
Truthfully, the single fact we got these show bring me happiness and as long their creators have creative control and use it well, I am ok with it, even if they want to end their show "early".

The whole TADC stealing the spotlight reminds me of the plot of Toy Story 1.
TADC is doing better in views, meaning it’s popular and the company is going to focus on it and its going to get more attention from companies. Thats just how popularity works. Glitch didn’t choose to make MD not as popular as TADC.
Stop dragging down a big thing because something you like isn’t getting attention. Instead be happy glitch is making big movements for themselves and indie animation as a whole.

They said that they didn't wanted people to have to pay to watch it, since Netflix agreed to let the episodes still be on YT people can still watch it for free
They said they’d never sell their shows to streaming services. This deal makes it so that Glitch and Goose have the upper hand. Netflix is only hosting the show, but can’t do anything directly interfering with the shows development. And if Netflix tries cancelling, Glitch loses nothing because it’ll still be on UA-cam where the main audience is

I think both The Amazing Digital Circus amd Murder Drones are great shows. However, I'd like it if the story of murder drones were explained a little more. It seeks to jump all over the place and not explain a lot of things. I'm rlky confused by it
The murder drones fandom is one that I mostly try to avoid. There's a lot of amazing fan artists and fanfic writers on ao3 that I like, but I generally try not to interact with the fandom because of how toxic it is. A lot of the TADC fandom is toxic too though, so I also try not to interact much. The point is that any fandom can be toxic, just don't let yourself be part of the toxicity. Y'all have seen the harry potter fandom, right? It isn't even that most of the murder drones fandom is especially toxic, but there's a very vocal minority that makes the others look bad. I think TADC brought attention to Murder Drones. I found TADC first and watched Murder Drones because my boyfriend really likes the show, but had I not known about TADC then I wouldn't have ever found Glitch and my boyfriend would have never brought up that he likes Murder Drones. Now I like murder drones probably more than he does. And Goose has to be one of my favorite creators out there. We need to realize the opportunity this can give for the future of indie animation! Full control of the show and NETFLIX is reaching out to them. That's fucking incredible. We should be proud of gooseworx. Plus how do we know that Netflix isn't considering adding Murder Drones? But if they were going to there'd need to be a way to have murder drones added without censoring the show. Murder is in the name. If it was advertised as a kids show or put in in the animation category then I can just see 1 million moms trying to petition Netflix to take it down immediately for being "demonic" and "violent".

Honestly I feel like TADC helped MD gain more spotlight. TADC is the reason I got introduced to MD and just glitch in general. I don't understand how it's taking away any spotlight from MD, it actually is increasing the views by a lot.
Ok, I can't blame the fans for getting annoyed at Gooseworx after she said she wasn't going to put TADC on Netflix, but saying "TADC is taking the spotlight of MD" is straight up cruel. Not only for her, who is trying her best to give us something new after having focused on MD for a while, but also for the fans that didn't complain, because y'all know perfectly that MD is over.

I do love TADC but MD (Murder Drones) was truly amazing and probably my favourite show of all time. I do hope it gets on Netflix after TADC does, don't know when (if ever) but we'll see

I only knew about MD because my friend kept on talking about TADC. I of course decided to give TADC a watch. After that I saw that MD was another project they were working on. I binge watched the first six episodes in one day. (This was 10 months ago).
If I never found out about TADC I would’ve never found out about MD.
I believe TADC is giving MD a view-boost in some way and I’m glad for it. I’m glad both creators are creating shows and projects they want to create.
Bummed that MD didn’t get onto Netflix but it’s fine, I guess. I mean, only if the creator of MD wanted to, that is.

I personally enjoy Murder Drones better but I’m excited for both.
As a Murder Drones fan who isn't very entertained by or interested in TADC I have to admit that I would rather have a MD season two rather than TADC but I also have to admit that I don't know where MD would go from here. The mystery element of MD was the core of it and the mystery is answered. Maybe Liam can come up with a new layer that will be fun to explore in the future but I think MD was wrapped up pretty well.
I think some fans who are upset about not seeing the character's stories beyond this happy ending have been projecting into the series and feel like they just lost a loved one because of that. That feeling when a character you projected yourself upon ends can be rough, especially when that character's friends and love interests also played a role in your projection. But no video series can fill those holes forever. Humans are complex and easily confused in our modern world. Therapy is something that the average person needs and no one should be ashamed to seek it.
to be fair, tadc isnt even halfway through, so you can say you prefer one thing but that wouldnt make full sense since your comparing two episodes to eight 😊
@katelynvcm6185 I'm still going to watch TADC but the setting and pretext didn't grab my interest like MD did with its pilot. The first two episodes of TADC are okay for me but I remember being much more interested and excited by the first two episodes of MD. But we all have our preferences and that's okay.
Agreed sure Murder Drones ended but it’ll be remembered for a long while
TADC isn’t stealing the spotlight, but just that for every new show on Glitch, they like to make it all about them. Hate to say it, but I think it’s time for us to move on. Yes, we’re still carrying on Murder Drones’ legacy, but I think it’s time for us to accept, Glitch is now about TADC. They’re moving on as well.
If Murder Drones does get on Netflix, I hope they remaster the earlier episodes since you can see the jankyness of the beginning episodes when comparing it to the later ones.

As a Murder Drones fan and as someone who considers Murder Drones his favorite Glitch show, I don’t feel like TADC is stealing the spotlight
i haven't watched murder drones. but the thing i can say. If Glitch gets a backing for Digital Circus. it gives Murder Drones potential too receive positive backing of intrest by Netflix. potentially of course. Digital Circus was designed too be more marketable in different ways. I know for fact the pilot did the job ot needed
Just something I have to say about that is if you look at the amount of views in the first TWO episodes it comes out to roughly 464 million and the whole series of md only has about 224 million in EIGHT episodes I wonder why Netflix doesn't want one but wants the other
To be completely honest murder rooms is a really good show and It would also probably be good if It got put on Netflix because didn't Netflix would continuously attempt to Push Glitch for a season 2 Which would really be nice considering me absolutely unanswered questions and we want to see more of in and oozy's relationship
Once upon a time RoosterTeeth’s RWBY was on Netflix, and I think RvB was there also. But both were just temporary and went back to just being on UA-cam and the roosterteeth website, so take this as you will

Hazbin was picked up by A24, while TADC is still owned by Glitch. It is not a good comparison what so ever. So, yes. The show is intact still indie. The thing is, people should be grateful that something from Glitch is coming to Netflix overall! I love Murder Drones, but I also love TADC as well, and so I don’t mind which goes to Netflix or not, but like I said, people should be grateful that something is coming instead of being toxic about one or the other

TADC led me to Murder Drones, as it did with many other people too. It was clear that Murder Drones was starting to enter a decline in views until TADC came out and it got more popular again.
Tadc feels like it should be put on netflix ngl its givin cartoonish but mds looks good on youtube the way it is now, if they decide to put mds on there too even better

TADC is what got a bunch of my friends to finally watch Murder Drones. I'm very excited and happy for TADC's staff and actors. All that matters is that Goose gets to maintain creative control over TADC.
We can prefer Murder Drones AND be happy that TADC got on Netflix.

As someone who has watched Murder Drones, I feel that rather than TADC stealing the spotlight from other shows, the other shows are trying to steal the spotlight from TADC. I constantly see Murder Drones fans in TADC comment sections begging for a season 2, saying how much they miss the show, etc. Murder drones is over and some of yall need to get over it and let other shows get attention too...
Netflix makes no decisions, an indie animator gets a shit ton more money which A) she deserves and B) will allow her to produce her work 10x faster.
I stg people these days want all their (FREE) content delivered at the speed of light, and they want creators to be miserable while doing it.

MD has finished and Glitch themselves say they still want to feature some of the characters in their little shorts and extra content.
I think the issue comes from MD fans not being to fully accept that the show has ended. It doesn't help that a new show (TADC) begins to become a much more popular Indie show with content coming out almost as soon as MD ends.
People have no time to accept the show has ended because another one has instantly begun.
Obviously this is just a guess as to why other MD fans are lashing out.
People need to remember though that MD is finished. Look out for fan content of if they want more.
TADC can't help being more popular to the point where they're given opportunities to take big steps for the Indie industry as a whole.

I'm a fan of both and I can see where the MD fandom is coming from, our show just ended the wound is still fresh
But that doesn't mean tadc is to blame and attacking it or Goose or Glitch isn't doing anything except making more unnecessary conflict so just breathe guys
Id rather a series knows when to finish and end on a high than to keep going and have people gradually hate the show for it after wrecking characters, running out of ideas and desperately trying to stay relevant. That way the series will always be remembered for being solid from beginning to end and not "just watch the early episodes/seasons then don't bother" like the Simpsons, family guy, rick and Morty and especially sponge bob.
Or even worse: cancelling a story driven show after 1 or 2 seasons on a cliffhanger.
Nowadays I am really grateful whenever I find a good show that is 1 self contained season.

@@ornitorincodigenova4260 yes. This can really ruin a show. Like I have some shows I really like but would not really recommend because they end on a cliffhanger. And this also started to influence how I am picking TV shows to watch. Especially with netflix I generally don't even bother anymore for anything that is not a big hit.

TADC is the reason i got to know MD
It blew up abd i wantched the pilot ep, so i went to check out what else GLITCH had on their channel and fell in love with MD
So really, the success of TADC is a win for all series under GLITCH 🔥
I'm a MD fan much more than I am a fan of TADC, and yeah I feel like it's a bit of a big spotlight that TADC has compared to MD, but both shows are still insanely popular and I would love to see either one of them or both of them Netflix because that's what indie shows deserve, recognition from big corporations with no intention to remove any of the current production team, because then it wouldn't be indie animation anymore

My immediate thought to this announcement was “Can they please add Murder Drones?”, Murder Drones has way more to gain from being on Netflix than Digital Circus, it’s not even that Digital Circus is already insanely popular, it’s more that Murder Drones’s target audience is basically every on Netflix, not an insult to the show I love it but I do see that more people who’d be into the show are on there rather than people who want to see something entirely goofy like TADC, especially those teens who are in their “I don’t like this this looks kiddy, I need something dark and edgy” phase, Murder Drones really has a sweet spot there.
How many seasons is there gonna be of amazing Digital Circus is there just gonna be eight episodes like murder drones also murder drones ended four weeks ago. I thought it ended a long time ago. I’ve seen it on UA-cam, but I thought it ended like a long time ago, I watch the show until yesterday, I finished it yesterday as well. It was a good show.

I think a lot of the backlash comes from the ending of murder drones due to it being unsatisfying with a lot of plot holes not being mentioned and the feeling it was rushed.
I feel like people are forgetting that an Indie animation is an animation that is produced by a person or group who is not a big company. It does not mean that it is from the Internet.
