There’s something creepy about the early build, a world like the one that we’ve spent years familiarising ourselves with, but different… something broken and corrupted. A world that wasn’t meant to be seen, that wasn’t meant to be played.
It's amazing what this game could have become, given more time. The very existence of your channel is a testament to the tragedy of such a short development time. We all appreciate your work!
Well you have to remember that Bethesda had already done the heavy lifting with fallout 3, that's why they gave them short development time in the first place
You have to stop somewhere in a game. Yes it could have been better, but there would have to be a point where you needed to stop before the game became bloated.
You'd be surprised by the number of games that have volumes of cut content, it's just part of development. New Vegas' development was so egregiously short that the cut content is far more massive than a lot of games out there. Goes to show how ambitious the developers were despite the time constraints. Despite it all still one of my all time favorite RPGs.
Stalker. They’ve cut so much stuff, and had like 4 drastically different production cycles (Oblivion lost, then Stalker Oblivion lost etc.) with scraping all of the plot, many locations it’s much more drastic than F:NV
I truly can't believe that we're literally even on episode 58 in series of videos where we examine the cut content, design, and development of Fallout: New Vegas. It's awesome that you're still able to pull out all these cool nuggets and easter eggs for us diehards.
“...and no one saw it coming...three...more...times. Now, the channel that brought us New Vegas cut content 50+ times before, is about to do it again. Only this time, it’s different.” “Who left the North Gate open?” I was watching tropic thunder when I got the notification lol
I really hope someone makes a mod package adding back as much cut content back as possible. Would be so cool to see the developers original vision of the strip and other things . Thanks for the awesome videos triangle city!
What I'm really hope for is that this game gets a remake someday. If I get to live my dream life, it would be to work on a remake of this game where I get to restore all this cut content and add more. Don't care if it takes like 6 years and lots of sleepless nights, I'd make it the best game I can possibly make.
@@Slender_Man_186 I wish, but I dont think Microsoft cares about anything besides making money and despite the terrible happenings surrounding its launch and post launch even Fallout 76 is making money for some god awful reason.
@@aleksipekkala6918 that’s the thing though, Microsoft knows that another Obsidian made Fallout would sell amazingly, what the fans want is what’s profitable, and they know that.
@@Slender_Man_186 But the "fans" just want an open world shooter with Fallout basically as a backdrop as evidenced by 4 and 76. The biggest complaints have been performance and when thats out of the way no one will care that its not even an RPG anymore or something that tries to have internal consistancy when it comes to lore or the setting.
@@aleksipekkala6918 4 and 76 are hardly considered Fallout games by most of the community now, 76 especially. If you ask someone now “what’s your favorite Fallout,” the most common answer would be NV. When people talk about NV, the biggest complaint is that Obsidian didn’t have enough time and there isn’t more of NV to play.
Finding bodies and pieces of cut quests and stories actually makes the game feel more in depth to me because it feels more real, in real life you often gets pieces of stories or wonder about things you’ll never an answer to. It’s part of what makes this game so amazing.
Holy molly, I think it will be a touchdown when we reach 60 episodes. After that we will have a series of cut contents of the new Vega cut content videos (like: I would show this, but I couldn’t cuz it’s copyrighted or would take hours to edit)

Honestly, that tour guide robot, that might not be a mistake in his dialogue. The only reason I think this is how companies are sometimes bought in pieces, and eventually FULLY bought, buying to provide financial support in a limited form isn't unheard of. Though in the case of when Robco bought Repcon iirc there's a date on at least a timeline stating when it happened, which would/could debunk it. However Bethesda has gone on saying the timeline can and has been retconned and deemed no longer cannon, ala Disney when purchasing Star Wars, but the difference being nobody fought Bethesda over it.
There was also a cut second drawbridge at the fort, i found out that the legion guards that would normally be in front waiting for you to take your weapons were waiting at a nearby wall,i didnt realize it at first but the wall had the same model as the drawbridge door

New Vegas was a game too advanced for its time and ambition restrained by console limitations. I can still remember almost 11 years ago with the vanilla game, the game picking up after the repconn quest and the bomb of a world building it was, so many ways to build a character, skill checks, the factions being even more developed than fallout 3, the large amount of weapons, ammo, quest and side quests... I finished it 4 times one on hardcore mode, then many years later came the dlc. And fuck I was amazed by each and LOVED the the arc between courier and ulysses... Honest hearts was the first and having had a surgery the day prior I immediately felt the nostalgia of picking up an older game on 360,the beauty of zion canyon, the rain even! They added it in the dlc and even more dialogue, a familiar theme, weapons... Then came dead money and its suspense, much similar to the abandoned places I was so entranced to search and then, old world blues. That was a shift, true, but the many themes of philosophy behind, then fucking tons of dialogue and dense, wacky characters having the hidden depth of their humanity remains? And then, lonesome Road. Linear, tense, sleeping. The synthesis, almost, between old and world, of something that could have been, of EVEN more weapons, enemies, stories. It gripped you. Many of the games failed to capture these fleeting moments. Fallout 4 took it as an example, mixing it with a streamlined skyrim and yet couldn't reach those points. Maybe, far harbor. And what to me at least, what could have been cyberpunk 2077
You can turn off collision and when you are taken to the lucky 38 basement the terminal on the other side opens and has controls to a reactor. Saw that today on PC version
