I just bought a uvdtf sticker from a local company and they say not to use alcohol to clean the surface of the item because it can cause the sticker to break and break the glue in the sticker down. Do they mean not to clean the surface with alcohol after the sticker is placed or before? They recommended just washing the item with soap and hot water. Thanks for any advice you can give with this!
@AngieHolden thank you, I tried it earlier today, I wiped the acrylic surface down with alcohol to see if it would be ok. I waited a bit and wiped it again to get any streaks off. Then I applied the sticker. It was fine, so I assume it's ok to use on the surface and letting it dry out completely and then wiping again. I didn't have time to wash and dry the item which is lazy I know but I was in a rush! I did not wipe it again with alcohol afterwards. I just used a soft cloth to remove fingerprints. Thanks for the response and I will let you know if it starts to bubble and break down!
Fabulous video. I have only made about 20 of these so far on the Libbey glass cups but, one of them in particular has excess glue stuck all over it. Do you have any idea how to get that glue off? I have tried just about everything. Please help!
Could you do a uv dtf on an iron on patch to put on like a hat? Or could you do the uv dtf directly on the hat? I’ve used regular dtf, but I like this option so kids can apply them by themselves
Hi Angie, I do wood working. Do you think this will work on wood that has been stained, painted, or has a poly urethane coat? Al so what about diferent types of wood I'm thinking of man made wood like MDF or Plywood.
Thanks for the video. If you were selling items with the uv stickers on it, would you list it as a sticker, I think that might not have enough sales appeal. What are your thoughts? Is there such a thing as Matt finish uv dtf stickers? TIA!
I have not seen a matte finish but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere! I think I would list as a "UV DTF Permanent Sticker" or something like that?
Here I am showing ones that I purchased. If you want to MAKE UV DTF stickers you need a special printer and ink. This cannot be done in a regular printer.

Oh maybe! There may already be one out there but most I see are glossy!
Can uv dtf be applied on glass using a heat press?

Would these apply well to insulated cups like yeti that have the paint coating on the outside?
Paint coating is fine. However, you would not want anything with a silicone coating.

I would NOT use UV DTF on any textile including a hat or patch.

There is no need to cut these! They come just as stickers!
Odd question but can you trim UV DTF? Like once it's applied to a surface can you trim the edges? or will that cause adhesion issues?
You should be able to. I am guessing if it is too long? I think it would be preferrable to trim it so you don't have excess.

Can UV DTF stick to foil?
I am sure it would stick but I am not sure if it would damage the foil.
