Bungie was really rushing to make the deadline for Halo 2, so the brutes’ berserk melee was never fully balanced, pretty much always tearing through everything.
and then there,s the crawlers from halo 4. which are just like halo 2 brutes when they are beserked. except they can still use their weapons as well as melee are even faster. and come in large groups that can easily rush you and take large portions of your shield due to the range of their melee. and you can not ever get close to them because they will spam their melee and run to cover while the rest of the pack shoots you. i don,t really know why people complain about the knights and watchers. from my experience they have a lot of weaknesses and you can easily defeat them if you play smart and use both the environment with the entirety your arsenal armor abilities included to your advantage. the only times i ever died to knights or watchers is due to them finishing me off after being attacked by crawlers and the few times in halo 4's campaign they have you exclusively knights and watchers are easy and honestly are the only times i enjoyed fighting the prometheans. honestly the crawlers are probably the worst part of halo 4. the game,s story does rely too heavily on expostition at times and some of the decisions made during the art design process are questionable but they are minor to me and have no real bearing on the gameplay. but the crawlers do and everytime they are encountered they completely ruin the games' pace and combat.

Because manly the grunts throw them and the elite minor and major etc. are the ones that shoot and melee, it’s to balance the game and that’s why they have spec ops elite variants , they shoot melee and throw grenades that’s why they’re special

Elites seem to have so much more skill in combat than the brutes; the brutes seem to have far more health and only win battles when they begin berserking. Given the insane damage dealt of a berserking brute, I feel like you should have the elites whip out there swords when engaged in close-quarter combat with the brutes -- just to make it fair.

Maur Nick That is a redundant claim. These are AI battles, of units stripped straight from game code programmed to behave the way they do, and have the power they do. You do not have the right to manipulate unit power and ability because you have favoritism. If anything, the higher health and strength of brutes vs the intellect of elites is canon.

Marshal wortz and his army, yapyap and his army, should team up against something. Make all the characters be leaders of something. I like how cj is leader of the stormtroopers. I am really enjoying watching this universe grow! Make chips and Johnson leaders of the ce marines! Also can you make a special skirmisher character? Also could you make to opposing ai factions do things other then just fighting, like go for a goal like the flag , protect a designated character or try to reach a certain point on the map? I'd love to see some new scenarios played out between the ai other then straight up deathmatch which is still great! Like maybe have one faction protect the engines like from ce pillar of autumn, and the other faction try to destroy it. You can set the starting points and reinforcement points for each faction, maybe set areas so the enemy can kind of take it over and remove one of the enemies reinforcement points! Or have them play multiplayer game types like king of the hill! With the amazing expanded universe your creating this has amazing potential!

Technically the Mgalekgolo Hunters are simply a bunch of worms bunched up into a single body. So while they are powerful, they're only so because it's multiple creatures bunched up into one. The Jiralhanae Brutes, on the other hand... they're tough all by themselves. One single Brute can take a lot of punishment, and dole it back out. And if all else fails, they go bananas and beat the target to death.

Elites have the skill, Brutes have the strength. When it's a matter of skill, the Elite wins. When it's a matter of raw power, the Brute wins.
