I used to have one of these when I was a kid! I got it for my 3-5th birthday (unsure) but i remember it was 25-50 US dollars. I played the HECK out of it. I used to get the cars and whenever I used to watch the movies, i would reenact the cars as the movie goes on and I used the sweeper during the 2nd-4th movies. I also remember making crazy tracks and using the sweeper to "spit" out the drones to control the acceleracers' cars to get sucked into the sweeper. I still have mines in the garage somewhere.
RaceGrooves My favorite episode of Accele Racers is ep.4, The ultimate race. It's when they (heros) steel a sweeper, and expect to save Mark Wild. Results are saved Wild( I watched all 4 ep.).
To answer some of your questions, I remembering getting mine back when I was a kid at Target. My pops bought it for me for about $29.99 and I still have it! It's pretty dusty though next to all my hyperpods and my case of acceleracers. Lol I remember playing with this thing all over the living room, re-acting some of the scenes from the movie! This indeed was one of the greatest toys I had as a kid!
Whether you're aware of this now or not, the Sweeper in the movies (First revealed in the 2nd movie "The Speed of Silence") was meant to be a large Drone vehicle that could suck up multiple cars on the track. When inside, the cars would be disassembled, and the drivers would be put into small tubes near the rear of the Sweeper, with metal bars above them. There were also small mechanic Droids that would sabotage the cars, and in the 3rd and 4th movies, they were known to release Biker Droids.
I got the drone sweeper in 2007 and i had all the cars about 4 years later i found them in a box and they were dusty and broken so ive been looking for them again i need them. I have the movies still
I got this one for my fourth birthday because it fell right after a major hip surgery! Now I can't find it!!!! I loved how the designers knew the cars were supposed to go in backwards so had the circle thing to gyrate them around inside so they could come in and out facing the same way! Awesome!
Even if you don't have the originals, it's great that they are still using the tools so we can get more colors =) As for the booster wheel looking like Mid-Air Madness, yes, same design.
Bought one today at a yard sale for a buck. It works, figured it out, now just got to hook my tracks ups and me and my nephew have something to play with. Awesome toy. Thought it was a car hauler, so did the lady that sold it to me.
i remember of drawning Taro's car getting chased by an sweeper when i was a kid, it was 2013 and my class mates dint cared much. Now i'm sad i got rid of all my old school note books, how much drawning have i made and i'm never seeing those again
I don't remember how much it was, but I do believe I found it at a local supermarket when I was little! I religiously watched the show, and when this came out, I saved long and hard (did chores around the house; it was a good motivator =P). I had a ton of fun with it, and still have it in working order! Great place to store cars and occasionally shoot 'em out onto a track! Loved the video! Thanks and keep it up!
I had a cargo truck that was 2 levels with a ramp that also could fit cars in the cab of the truck. Man, I wish I saw these when I grew up. I only saw Highway 35 and feel like discovering Acceleracers is like finding a lost part of my childhood that I never got to experience.
I have been buying them from eBay. Many of the models are affordable. There were some that were very hard to find and those will not be cheap anywhere. Reverb, Chicane, Spectyte are still sell anywhere from $40 to $50 each.
I remember seeing this in Target back in '05 but I passed it up for the Acceledrome track set. I was finally able to get myself one last year, and it is fantastic! You did miss a small feature in your review though. The Sweeper has four little parking spaces under the in-going ramp and the turntable (you can see them in the video at 2:07 and 5:49 respectively).
Yes! Power Rage was one of the first Mystery Cars when they were in the black blisters. Speed Racer 6:45 wasn't a mainline car. It was a separate product for the movie. They had track sets and all sorts of stuff.
I know this is an old video but it almost looks like the faded one is supposed to glow in the dark, when your shadow was covering it, it looked more green
There are lots of under 20 year olds that would love to see the AcceleRacers movies continue (or at least be properly concluded) and also see some of the toys return.
I had the Acceleracers Trash Crawler, my great grandmother got it for me when she learned that I loved the show and she watched my expression when I saw the episode that the crawler was in while I was staying at her house. I miss her so much R.I.P Lenny Beck.
As an 18yr I believe he is one of the better toy channel...only one subject hot wheels which are the collectibles of hot wheels that are his kids so basically he is "reviewing" his kids car collection
I don't know where this was sold, but I got one for my fourth birthday following a surgery. Now I can't find it seem to find it ;(. I would assume back in the day you'd be able to pick it up at Toys 'R Us, Target, K-Mart, the likes. But we bought all our HotWheels from the Walgreens down the road.
I remember seeing this in Target back in either 2005 or 2006. I was never able to get my hands on it, and it will probably be a while before I am able to get it because of how much it goes for online nowadays. If I ever am able to get it I am definitely going to hook up my green Hot Wheels track to it and make some sort of track layout with it.
I was wondering, if they did a 10th Anniversary re-release, would you expect them to release them exactly as they were originally released or would it be OK if they put nice rubber tires on them?
The instructions for the Video Racer say to not put it in any boosters. As for whether I recommend the movies, I thought that it was well done. As you can tell from the comments on this video and on my other AcceleRacers videos, there are lots of fans of the series! I have an AcceleRacers playlist on my main page or search UA-cam for RaceGrooves AcceleRacers.
I don't know anything about your Dad but from my experience, a kid at 5 years old doesn't know a whole lot. Now that you are 11, you are starting to come into age where you have a better understanding of what's really going on in the world.
My neighbor gave to me when i was little because her son was getting older so he didn't need it. I played with it so much and still have it. The sweeper has heaps of play value.
finally! im was waiting for this review ! very good review of the drone sweeper the best! it looks so cool but when it was on the stores i never seen it too :)
Oh my gosh I had this thing from age 4 to present, I have no idea where it is now, but I played with it ALL the time for about 5 years, and I never knew there was a track connector on the bottom, that is so cool.
My brother and I each got one for Christmas one year. We both enjoyed the movies and TRIED to collect as many acceleracer cars and toys as possible. (I'm still trying to complete the 1:64 scale line -- I'm missing reverb, RD-08, chicane, and pile driver, the most expensive and rare/hard to get cars)
I got one of these in 2006 from a Toys 'R' Us. A week later there was a huge flood that ruined the store. Luckily ive kept mine in great shape since then!
I used to have a lot of acceleracers cars, now idk where they are,the only ones lefts are slingshot with an broke wheel and battle spec, dang it was hard to find a car from acceleracers in brazil
I got it for my 7th birthday I remember! my mom got it for me and I believe it was $50? I can't remember the price, but I used it almost everyday and sometimes I even bring it out nowadays
Mattel employees don't have any special access to new cars. They have to buy them just like us but some of the Mattel warehouses have a Toy Store that the public can visit as well.
It would be nice to see a fifth and final film. And the sweeper could be part of a wave of all the Tecku, Metal Maniacs, Racing Drones, and Silencers. They could be sold as individual, box sets by team, or like the highway 35; be sold in limited edition box sets of all the cars.
wow, this got reccomended to me in 2020, still hoping for the 5th mocie.... T-T
Sadly never gonna happen. They rebooted/retconned vert and his dad into battle force 5 which was nowhere near as good imo
UA-cam recommended this to me in 2023 ._.
2024?
Nearly 2025.
it would be neat if they would do an origional acceleracers pack of all the racers
it would be neat if they actually did the hot wheels acceleracers season 2
Hey bro it’s been 9 years, you still around? Lmao
It's possible for them to do
They're never able to sell every model they make, so they should have a bunch of them in storage
I remember getting this so much fun for my child hood
I used to have one of these when I was a kid! I got it for my 3-5th birthday (unsure) but i remember it was 25-50 US dollars. I played the HECK out of it. I also remember making crazy tracks and using the sweeper to "spit" out the drones to control the acceleracers' cars to get sucked into the sweeper. I still have mines in the garage somewhere.
Tony Lopez cool!
RaceGrooves You haven't opened rocket fire yet? (Drone Sweeper vid)
RaceGrooves My favorite episode of Accele Racers is ep.4, The ultimate race. It's when they (heros) steel a sweeper, and expect to save Mark Wild. Results are saved Wild( I watched all 4 ep.).
U lucky I wish I had one of those
+RCT3plays MC I got it as a hospital present at age 4 but I can't find it ;(
Got this thing 7 years ago and I LOVED it! Still do aswell, I always was into acceleracers didn't collect many normal hotwheels mainly acceleracers
My mom and I picked this up when I was younger, we got ours a Target, and I played with it non-stop. So much fun!
Finally bought one of my own, very happy! Even though I'm an adult now, I feel like a kid on Christmas again!
Gotta love bassline
yea
No vert

Thanks for posting your experience!
@Doomz4U Yes, I bought both series for my son. I have watched all of the episodes once but my son watched them several times.
I love that Drone Sweeper! I remember watching the Accelracers as a kid and I would scream at the TV whenever I saw the Drone Sweeper attacking.
I'm glad that many of the AcceleRacers tools are still being used.
the nostalgia i'm getting from watching this

Man that toy looks really awesome, too bad I didn't got one or anymore of the Acceleracers cars, collecting them is fun.
I got this one for my fourth birthday because it fell right after a major hip surgery! Now I can't find it!!!! I loved how the designers knew the cars were supposed to go in backwards so had the circle thing to gyrate them around inside so they could come in and out facing the same way! Awesome!

Congrats on having all of your AcceleRacer stuff!
finaly i can commentafter 7 years ! this is the best review ever
I'm glad i got exactly like this one on video, tonight from a thrift store.. 😍😍😍
can't wait to rebuild and Resurrection.. 🤤🤤
Those Drones or robots that hang onto the bottom of the Drone Sweeper are pretty wild!
Bought one today at a yard sale for a buck. It works, figured it out, now just got to hook my tracks ups and me and my nephew have something to play with. Awesome toy. Thought it was a car hauler, so did the lady that sold it to me.

All of the AcceleRacers merchandise were released around 2005. I have been collecting since 1998.
I don't remember how much it was, but I do believe I found it at a local supermarket when I was little! I religiously watched the show, and when this came out, I saved long and hard (did chores around the house; it was a good motivator =P). You did miss a small feature in your review though. The Sweeper has four little parking spaces under the in-going ramp and the turntable (you can see them in the video at 2:07 and 5:49 respectively).
Thanks for sharing your recollection on the cost.
I agree that it is very similar to a glow in the dark color but I don't recall anybody stating that fact in the other comments.
Thanks. I'm glad that I was able to give you an enjoyable time =)
There are lots of under 20 year olds that would love to see the AcceleRacers movies continue (or at least be properly concluded) and also see some of the toys return.
There was an Iridium released in a playset but I don't recall which one.
I don't have any Hyperpods but I do have the AcceleDrome and the Swamp Beast track sets still sealed in the box.
@TEAMSLAIN I bought all of the cars when they were released. I have the complete set loose and I have some still in the package.
Congrats on having AcceleRacers!
These have not been in stores for many years. You will have to find a collector store or an online marketplace such as eBay.
The Drone Sweeper reminds me of a big 10 wheeler Semi Truck!👍😁🚛🤖💚
You're welcome and thanks!!
I love Acceleracers. I remember my dad bringing the movie home and I watched it over and over.
LOL! You really loved playing with Bassline!
I had the Acceleracers Trash Crawler, my great grandmother got it for me when she learned that I loved the show and she watched my expression when I saw the episode that the crawler was in while I was staying at her house. I miss her so much R.I.P Lenny Beck.
Why didn't I see this before!? This is SO cool! I wanna find one and buy it very soon now!
As an 18yr I believe he is one of the better toy channel...only one subject hot wheels which are the collectibles of hot wheels that are his kids so basically he is "reviewing" his kids car collection
Clarification. Power Rage was not originally a Mystery Car. It was an AcceleRacers release first.
Jeeez that sounds like a blender .....
Agreed! This kind of booster is safe for most cars. I should compare the boosters with the ones from the 3-Lane Super Speedway.
The Drone Sweeper is an awesome toy!
Almost 2022 and people still watch acceleracers. The drone sweeper is awesome
I remember seeing this in Target back in either 2005 or 2006. If I ever am able to get it I am definitely going to hook up my green Hot Wheels track to it and make some sort of track layout with it.
Are you happy now that I did the video =) I will do some other stuff with both of the Sweepers later.
I have some of the Hyper Pods but I'm not sure if I have that one.
The silver cars are Silencers. The names of that team were all taken from the periodic table of elements.
Thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed the presentation!
I'm pleased you have shown us those fantastic toys because was one of my favourites tv shows but please take good care of this cars
that is one awsome power rage you showed while demonstrating that drone sweeper
I was wondering, if they did a 10th Anniversary re-release, would you expect them to release them exactly as they were originally released or would it be OK if they put nice rubber tires on them?
thank u race grooves for making my childhood 💜💜💜

I am glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Thanks for helping and answering his question.
The toy I always wanted as a kid
Yes, we have the 4-disc series so I seen all of the Realms.
My neighbor gave to me when i was little because her son was getting older so he didn't need it. I played with it so much and still have it. The sweeper has heaps of play value.
Awesome! I think it's a great toy too =)
Do you have any idea where they got their information for the Realms that were not in the movies?
When I was five or six, I got it from my grandma. It was the coolest toy! I would always attach a loop to it so the cars could go through a loop!
Awesome!
RaceGrooves i like your video
finally! im was waiting for this review ! very good review of the drone sweeper the best! it looks so cool but when it was on the stores i never seen it too :)
Where would the spots be to fit my cars?
Oh my gosh I had this thing from age 4 to present, I have no idea where it is now, but I played with it ALL the time for about 5 years, and I never knew there was a track connector on the bottom, that is so cool.
After finally getting to experience one myself, I really appreciate the design!

@clydorene I bought tge Drone Sweeper off of eBay. The AcceleRacers models I bought back when the show was first shown on TV.
Yes, filming the complete AcceleRacers card collection is a project that I still need to do.
bro this takes me back a lot
I plan to review those track sets but I have other projects as well. Thanks.
Thanks for posting your recollection.
I bought a few. I'm not sure where they are right now.
Im brazzilian, when I was kid I watched this videos so many times and even try to draw at this moment: 00:48 Thank you!!
I remember watching this when I was younger
Thanks for letting me know!
LOL! You were really into the show!
@jjack2300 I am sure you had a great time with it!
That is the coolest toy I have ever seen! I am sure if I would have had it as a kid I would have had a lot of fun with it!
Correct, these are long gone and haven't been in stores for years.
I got one of these in 2006 from a Toys 'R' Us. A week later there was a huge flood that ruined the store. Luckily ive kept mine in great shape since then!
Yeah, I have more Silencers than the other team cars. =)
I'm glad to hear that you still have your AcceleRacers Drone Sweeper!
That's pretty cool that both of you had one!
Where did all of your AcceleRacers stuff go?
Mattel employees don't have any special access to new cars. They have to buy them just like us but some of the Mattel warehouses have a Toy Store that the public can visit as well.
I'm remembered watching these Video back in the Good old Days
I can see why you played with it for a long time. It's a great toy!
