That's a very unique looking ukulele! Very glossy! I actually saw a gig bag like this on Amazon (in grey and maroon, with leather details too) but it wasn't available for soprano ukuleles. I wanted to get a new one for the Flight ukulele because the gig bag that came with it isn't padded at all and has no pocket in the front.

Hi Ms. B. Looking good, very stylish uku. Nice gig bag, understated coolness. Check the zipper pulls. If it says YKK on it that's a quality zipper brand. For the UMA branding on the bag. I always use a sharpie on logos that stand out too much on my Jackets or gear. Perhaps a dark blue to help it blend in. Or a red to pop. Easy fix. Oooh, it is a good looking ukulele. Like your thoughts, your stream of consciousness when you first saw it. Unfiltered opinion are best. Brand embossed tuners, classy stuff. The three wood tones do add a subtle elegance, and that gloss! Top marks to UMA for offering such a shinning example of quality and care in building a ukulele. Ya, I thought the top edge was indented as well, curious. Maybe it's a test thought, seeing if people like the idea to have an actual comfort edge, which they may create on future ukus? Ah, I didn't know about tuner marks on gloss if left on over time. I know, invent little Ms.B tuner coasters to protect the coffee table shine:) Sounds sweet. Bright, crisp, clear and clean. Lovely sustain. Looks like Cat gives the roar of approval. I think I need to hydrate my fretboard. You're not crazy, mine looks thirsty like that as well. Great initial thoughtful review. It’s a pretty Uke Ms. B😉. The gloss is not too much and the attention to details like the simple design on the edge, that gives it an illusion that it has a comfort edge even though it doesn’t & the rosette in the sound hole.As I’ve mention before in some of my comments, it’s so good and amazing to see ,affordable ukulele/ instruments with such quality.✌🏻&❤️
Yes, the attention to details really matter. I like that the ukulele keeps it simple with the details but also went all out with the colors and design.
It sounds very bright and high pitched. What wood is it made out of? No strap pins? :) How do you check if the fret board is dry or not? If you get a uke with a dry fret board, would you advise to send it back to the manufacturer?
Mahogany, maple, and a synthetic for the fingerboard. In the description box I have a few more details about the uke ;) If you get a dry fret board, I would treat it asap unless the dryness has caused problems or cracked!
I love the gloss look of it! Do you know if it stays overtime around the rosette after much strumming? On my non-glossy uke the wood became shiny/polished where my fingers meet the wood when strumming, left and right of the rosette...
I have no idea, but time will tell! Sounds like you are practicing quite a bit! That is great!! Are you going to make your ukulele with gloss or a different type of finish?
I am not sure, as my teacher says it puts the wood in a cage so he prefers do to them mat. I'll definitely look into learning to do those glosses myself!

I think it is very pretty and the gig bag looks better than most, but don't love the sound. It sounds rather tinny (metallic). Maybe that is because of the strings. It would be interesting to know how it would sound with Aquilla Nylgut strings or something we are used to hearing.

I kid you not, I recorded that tutorial after filming this unboxing and my face looked terrible. I got so tired just trying to film this one that by the time I went to film the strumming video, my body gave up on me. I am DETERMINED to get better these next two days and refilm that because I really want to share that :)

What is "relatively cheap" to you? Tenors tend to me a little more pricey just because they are bigger and require more material to be made and for the gig bags etc.
The Nut looks wide is it a 1.5 inch Nut? a comfort edge is what the indentation is called. So it's a Solid Top Mahogany? The Fingerboard is not made of Wood it's an Engineered Wood. I've been wanting an Islander it should be available to Japanese Market as the parent company is there

Hi Tim 👋🏼 yes, this one has a very unique timbre and I didn’t change anything about my recording! I only haven’t shown it on my channel more because I let a student of mine borrow it and she’s hung on to it 😂 -that’s what happens with the good ukuleles! It’s not available in the US yet, but they have plans on expanding into amazon. As soon as they do, I’ll make a big announcement! I also send them comments like this to motivate them to hurry up 😉

That is one beautiful ukulele! I really like the glossy finish and the unique touches to it. I kind of like how the gigbag looks like too. I believe this company really likes to produce some unique ukuleles. By the way, I think you look totally fine in the video and that there was absolutely no need to refilm it so I am glad you didn’t! I see you have changed your environment as well?
Silly question maybe, but the use I bought is pretty sharp on the forearm when playing... It tends to leave an impression after playing for a bit. What would be a way to remedy this problem?

Yay! Glad you like this review!!! The ukulele is not heavy in my opinion, but it is heavier than my laminate ukuleles, but I am not a good judge for that. I personally like the feel of my heavier ukes than my light ukes.

The effect on the top lower left corner there is called a 'bezel,' or in this case, as false bezel. It looks very classy.

The Nut looks wide is it a 1.5 inch Nut? a comfort edge is what the indentation is called. So it's a Solid Top Mahogany? The Fingerboard is not made of Wood it's an Engineered Wood. I've been wanting an Islander it should be available to Japanese Market as the parent company is there

I only haven’t shown it on my channel more because I let a student of mine borrow it and she’s hung on to it 😂 -that’s what happens with the good ukuleles!
It’s not available in the US yet, but they have plans on expanding into amazon. As soon as they do, I’ll make a big announcement!

Silly question maybe, but the use I bought is pretty sharp on the forearm when playing... It tends to leave an impression after playing for a bit. What would be a way to remedy this problem?

The ukulele is not heavy in my opinion, but it is heavier than my laminate ukuleles, but I am not a good judge for that. I personally like the feel of my heavier ukes than my light ukes.

I do think it looks dry. There are tiny cracks on the surface, isnt it? My question is if it got drier, how would you treat it?
There’s a solution that you can rub on the wood to moisturize and protect it. They sell it at music shops and music nomad care also carries it :)
