I just bought a set of corelle dishes today and I love them already! I really like the fact that they are just plain white. I really hate visual clutter and I just never thought of white plates before. I always wanted to have some kind of print or color, but not anymore. The white is like ahhhhhh , very peaceful! Thanks Melody you have really helped me make some good changes in my life!
I love love love my white Corelle! I got rid of all my heavy ironstone. I love how thin and light the plates are. I also got the entree bowls that I love for big salads.
I love your videos. You are the reason I come on youtube! Really helpful and you don't just babble on and on you get to the point! I also love that you are a minimalist that uses pops of color it makes it more "relatable", with advice and tips that are made for real (practical) living. Really awesome thank you.
I just ordered the waste basket, hope it lives up to your scoop. I use many of your suggested products and give two thumps up to All Clad, the W knife and the Corelle Dishes. Basic, simple quality products!
Yes! A Simplehuman trash can makes a huge difference! I finally purchased mine a few months ago and its the little things that make it the best purchase. The bags fitting inside and the soft close lid. Love your videos! I'm agreeing with a lot of the commenters, I'd love to see a video of your crockpot recipes!
Right! It was the #1 thing I missed while abroad. It really is the little things. You open the trash at least five times a day, so having that kind of improvement adds up to something big. I don't mind spending extra for household products because I know I'll always get my money's worth!
I've been binge watching your vids this morning. I'm about to clean out my fridge and purge under the sink. I don't even remember what's under there. Thanks for the inspiration!
I bought the oxo pop tops for my friends wedding shower she loves them! I also have a vitamix which is my favorite kitchen tool. I don't like toasters though because they are unitaskers. I toast my bread in the oven on broil which I personally feel is more minimal. love your videos!
Hey Melody, thank you for another great video! I've been watching your channel for a while now and all your insight really helps me in changing my lifestyle (though I have a long way to go yet). I learned a lot from your video.
You are so right about Correlle! I actually bought my first set a year ago and gave up my porcelain dishes because it didn't make sense at how porcelain can break and plus they are bulkier!
I have those exact Corelle plates and bowls. We have had them for probably 20 years and they look as good as the day we bought them. I am going to check out that Wusthof Cook’s knife, thanks for the recommendation. Love you girl! XOXO
We have the Corell dishes too. The plates take up so little room so i can keep several for guest suppers. Great video Mel! We have had our Vitamix for 16yrs. If something happened to it I would buy it again. We also have the smaller pitcher that is the grain attachment to grind wheat, oats, coffee, etc. Your Oxo pops are lovely. I like using the large mason jars or up-cycled glass jars for my dry goods. Thanks again for your great minimalism vids. Keep smiling! 🌺
Great suggestions! I think I could eliminate a lot of mediocre products from my life and invest in some of these. I have a wusthof knife and love it. I also have a vitamix but my blender pitcher is too tall and doesn't fit under my cabinet. I'm going to see if I can get a shorter pitcher like yours. I did t know they came in that size! Thanks, Melody!
Love your videos melody and I'm really enjoying your blog! Love that you shared your Myers Briggs type , very interesting. I'm an infj and I share your mindset in many ways yet learn something new from you as well!
Great advice!i am waiting for a kitchen machine i bought on amazon, it is the Kenwood chef sense, i have been saving for a while to buy it and i can't wait to have it!I am vegan and i bake alot, i personally dislike processed sweets but in Italy that is what we eat for breakfast, so i am gonna bake my own! it is important to have the right tools when it comes to take care of our daily meals, instead of buying thousands of cheap ones that will break in no time!
OMG Im the same when it comes to Corelle, I love them! I donated all of my plates and bowls and purchased Corelle saucers and salad plates. I use the salad plates in place of dinner plates because putting food on them makes me feel like I'm eating more. It's a really great trick! I don't have white plates but when I can afford it I'll purchase white ones, they just weren't available at the second hand store.
Love the OXO pops! We bought ours at Sam's Club (it's a shopping club like Costco) came with a collection for a "nice" price! I keep my OXO pops in the pantry they look nice and fit nicely! Looking forward to the next video "smoothies" been wanting to learn more about the benefits and to get recipes!
You have a honing steel, it does not sharpen knives, it helps keep them sharp longer but you need to sharpen your knife (or get it sharpened) once or twice a year depending on use with a sharpening stone (or other devices). Honing your knife does not sharpen it, get it sharpened and you will see the difference ;)
you're making me want that knife! also love Corelle. love love love my vitamix too. (vitamix blades are not sharp though!). love the canisters too, and I really need a good quality skillet. If it were my list I'd have to add my instant pot I think. it's a multi-tasker.
great to follow you! I learn so much. My helpful hint Toaster oven...best Frugal ...minimalist...tool along with Crock-Pot... u make toast.. casseroles...cookies ..cupcakes...ect..has timer ...doesn't heat kitchen...cheaper to use then oven...best gadget!!!
I don't know if you guys can get them in your state but it's definetly worth a look. I myself use a lot of these products. To the silex it's a multi purpose toaster and makes in my opinion the best toasts you can also make little things like pizza in it or I even cook chickenbreast in it. My mum has one that is 20 years old and looks brand new if you take care of it. They offer 10years guarantee. It's pricey but you buy them once. As well as the AMC pots I've never cooked Meals faster and it never gets over or under cooked I can completly trust these products. They also offer 30 years guarantee. A lot of people here in Germany use these Products! Some other good kitchenware brands I can name are Gefu, Bodum, Joseph Joseph, Fackelmann, WMF, Silit, Leifheit and of course Tupperware.
Love the oxo mixing bowls - I am buying a set. Also, have you tried the cutco super sheer scissors? It is definitely a luxury item but is my favorite overall tool. Unfortunately my parents fell in love with them and I need to purchase a new one now
I am about to move house and am loving the minimalist mindset Melody! Thanks for introducing me to minimalism and organization. I am going to give it a shot :)
I did make a hot chocolate drink on the first week with the Vitamix! I have to make just a video on my favorite things to do with the Vitamix. The fact that it can make soup without a stove is incredible!
What containers do you recommend for freezer and fridge storage for food (for example leftovers from the slow cooker, either to freeze or to bring to work the next day)?
Great recommendations! I have several of the same items and have "taken note" of the ones that I don't have. After all...Christmas is coming! Great gift ideas! ;o)
We used to have the ninja and we made smoothies every morning. The daycare used to have to force my daughter to practically eat her smoothie. One day we bought the vita mix, and the day care lady was like “what did you do to change the recipe your daughter loves these smoothies now” All we did was swap ninja for the vita mix
I own the 5" Wushtof Santoku knife I like it but I don't like the plastic handle. I purchased it based off of your recommendation=) but I'm terrified of 8" chef knives lol. Overall, the knife I'm really aiming for is a global prep knife because it's just one chunk of stainless steel but they're sooo expensive. Anyway all in due time. Thanks for compiling this.
Hey, Minimalist Vegan, I feel you on the handle -- my sticker wore off! haha On the plus side, the handle isn't delicate. The Wusthof I use is a 6" because it was cheaper and my hands are small. I got a Swiss Victorinox knife in Norway because I loved the wooden handle and how lightweight it was, but then I realized the weight of the Wusthof actually makes cutting easier. So Wusthof and I are stuck for life :)
O! Your knifes handle doesn't even look plastic because it has screws. I just thought it was the one I got. My sticker JUST started to wear...ironic lol
Hello! Greetings! I wish I could speak German. My grandpa was full German, could speak the language, and visited at least once a year. Maybe I'll still learn it yet! :)
Not ocd at all. It's basically intentional simplifying to make your life more efficient, focused, and have less distractions so you can think and do the things you want with more focus. For some people having too many possessions is distracting and slows them them down in life so having just the things you need and use makes things more peaceful and efficient. Minimalism looks different with different people.
No. My channel focuses on organization, but I do not have OCD. OCD can get in the way of living. I just like the look of color and things in a row :) Minimalism for me is about having more space than things because it allows me to focus on things that are important to me and makes cleaning/maintenance so much easier. However, as a domesticated minimalist, I can appreciate a good quality, especially innovative, product. I love the items I choose to keep!
it just seems like if someone were to come to your home and put sometihng on the counter or mess something up having to do with your organization, you would probably be very bothered by that. and to me, that is having an issue. but i do understand the concept of minimalism in terms of only having the things you need and want-- but some of the organization and having everything put away in a special place is a little odd.
I know a lot of people, not minimalistic at all, who would very much be bothered by someone coming to their home, putting sometihng on the counter or mess something up. Nothing to do with OCD. Everything with an "ism" in its official name seems automatically extreme. Just a thought
It kinda sorta sounds scripted and sponsored by one of the brands ... :/ pretty consumerist in my opinion - however, the product themseleves do look great! ^^
Hey Ivan, thanks for your comment! I think your concern is valid. I haven't been sponsored. I do these life hauls because I think if people find excellent products first, then they'll go through a lot less products over time (saving money and the environment) and can be more efficient day-to-day to allow time for other things (a hobby, family). When I have good items in my home, there's more joy and efficiency in the tasks. Traveling minimalists have a more extreme and inspiring lifestyle that requires detachment of almost everything, and I respect that, but I've always been the domesticated Joshua Becker type. It's a more accessible middle ground. I can relate to minimalists, but also I can relate to people like my mom and grandparents, everyday Americans who just want balance :)
Great videos! However in some of them you seem to be obsessed about eating less which makes me think you have an eating disorder... You don't have to eat little to lose/ maintain weight, just eat healthy.
I saw your pics and you REALLY need to heed Melody's advice and eat less. Wow. Eating disorder? Do you even KNOW what an ED female looks like? Certainly not the picture of perfect health that Melody exudes. Next time, keep derogatory comments to yourself.
Hey Livia, I used to be overweight right before college and lost 20 pounds by just eating less meals and consuming less sugar any way I could, which I have to say is biggest weakness :)
I also love how quick fire your videos are. Clear, concise and fast.
Thanks, Patricia!
I love the story about your mom. I am very loud about products I love, just like I'm a plant as well. Yay!
Totally with you on the Corelle plates. I have the same ones which I’ve had for years. The noodle bowls are great too- high sides so no spillage!
I just ordered the waste basket, hope it lives up to your scoop. I use many of your suggested products and give two thumps up to All Clad, the W knife and the Corelle Dishes. Basic, simple quality products!
I am SO the Vitamix "plant" every time! 😂 I sooo love my Vitamix!
I use the oxo pops at work to keep the dog treats fresh for a long, long time. I love it.
Never thought of storing Pat's treats in an OXO, but what a great tip!
Yes! A Simplehuman trash can makes a huge difference! I finally purchased mine a few months ago and its the little things that make it the best purchase. THAT PAN! I've been looking for an all stainless steel one!
I've been binge watching your vids this morning. I'm about to clean out my fridge and purge under the sink. I don't even remember what's under there. Thanks for the inspiration!
I can imagine your house is more sparkling than ever, Liz! So exciting :)
I would love to see a video about minimalist makeup with your top tips, and advice on how to keep your makeup collection small.
I just filmed it this week for you! I should have it out next month :)
thank you for all ur great tips! been on a minimalist journey for a month now and it feels so good
Your ideas are perfect! Thanks
I love your aloe Vera plant it's beautiful...
My mom has the white OXO Pops too. She uses them to store various plastic ware, tea, and Sweet&Low.
Love that idea! They're perfect for that.
Love and use the vitamix as well. Thanks for your awesome videos.
We have the same white corelle plates and bowls, I love to use them everyday.
I like to cook on cast iron. helps to keeps my anemia in check.
I use my Vitamix every single day. I love your videos and also email them to my daughters. Thank you Melody. 🌴🌴🌴🌞🌴🌴🌴
Aw, thanks so much! The Vitamix is truly a life-changing product. Love the palms :)
Thanks for sharing. Great products you have. I never knew about Toaster Bags tho. I'm about to research that. Thanks again. 😊

Thanks, A.J., I love your comment!
Great tips! thanks Melody!
Oh my!! I just found you! Great products! Super advice.
You are so right about Correlle! I actually bought my first set a year ago and gave up my porcelain dishes because it didn't make sense at how porcelain can break and plus they are bulkier!
I love how neatly the plates store. I can't imagine owning any other :)
I'm definitely checking that blender out
I have those exact Corelle plates and bowls. We have had them for probably 20 years and they look as good as the day we bought them. I am going to check out that Wusthof Cook’s knife, thanks for the recommendation. Love you girl! XOXO

Our masons are used for drinking glasses as well. So multipurpose.

Hey LoveRachel, we are so close! Even though I'm a thinker, my best friends tend to be feelers :)
It's about time they invented a trash can that actually works and fits right
Great advice!i am waiting for a kitchen machine i bought on amazon, it is the Kenwood chef sense, i have been saving for a while to buy it and i can't wait to have it!I am vegan and i bake alot, i personally dislike processed sweets but in Italy that is what we eat for breakfast, so i am gonna bake my own! it is important to have the right tools when it comes to take care of our daily meals, instead of buying thousands of cheap ones that will break in no time!

Love your videos! Thanks for the recommendations :) Would you consider sharing some of your crock pot recipes? xx
I have a great classic chili recipe that I'm going to make a quick video on in addition to my weekly videos :)
Great! Looking forward to it :)
Can you do some cooking videos? :D I'd love a minimalist point of view on crock pot cooking.
l Love my toster oven. l dont even use my oven just use that one. it was expensive but has lasted 10 years.
You have a honing steel, it does not sharpen knives, it helps keep them sharp longer but you need to sharpen your knife (or get it sharpened) once or twice a year depending on use with a sharpening stone (or other devices). Crock-Pot and toaster, so basic, yet so great at helping save money :)
Corelle and Wusthof -- two of the best brands I wish all newlyweds knew about. Wusthof knives are great! I got mine as a present many moons ago :)
great tips as usual. can't bring myself to get rid of my mixer because I want to make macaroons
Yum! Sounds delicious :)
can you do crock pot/ baking/ soup recipes videos
I highly highly reccommend you the Silex or Mulex toasters and AMC pots! Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland!
I don't know if you guys can get them in your state but it's definetly worth a look. I myself use a lot of these products. Haha no, but after that great review, I'll have to give them a look! A good pair of kitchen shears is essential!
I am about to move house and am loving the minimalist mindset Melody! Thanks for introducing me to minimalism and organization. I am going to give it a shot :)
Believe it or not you can also make hot soups in the Vitamix, the tortilla soup recipe is in the info packet
I did make a hot chocolate drink on the first week with the Vitamix! I have to make just a video on my favorite things to do with the Vitamix. The fact that it can make soup without a stove is incredible!

Right! I got my knife for a present. I save up all the household things I want for Christmas because then I can justify them haha

We used to have the ninja and we made smoothies every morning. The daycare used to have to force my daughter to practically eat her smoothie. One day we bought the vita mix, and the day care lady was like “what did you do to change the recipe your daughter loves these smoothies now”

@More Melody- I love your black dress :) May I ask where it's from? I love your videos!

What kind of recipes do you use? Vegan?
please can you do a video on sanitizing shoes and trainers and how to keep footwear fresh.
Great idea for a lifehack video I'm working on! :)
Excellent, I look forward to your advice and tips.
Did you ever get around to doing a make-up vid?
Almost, Spoo! I filmed my first two makeup videos this weekend. I have so many easy looks lined up.
haha so funny about your mom in the audience!
My mom watched this video, and she remembered that! haha It was so long ago.
That is so funny! I know I probably sound like a "plant" with certain products too haha
Keke vvv.
