Brotha I am aboriginal and TSI and I can tell you first hand this was one of the most shameful disrespectful videos I seen on aboriginal culture. Saying stolen generation ending was a tragedy to our people is disgusting. Stolen generation was babies being stolen and woman being raped and bred out by the colonisers. Also the fact that this man just dances our dances and does not even ask is disrespectful as well. I know a lot of them mob in this video did not want him to dance but allowed him anyway because of either the camera or because of the peer pressure. This is a terrible video of our culture.
@@Spacemarn223 I felt the same with this man doing the interviews, I felt in part of the video he was ridiculing their culture. I`m English and live in the UK, and don`t know much about the aboriginals life an culture, but I feel so sad, that they were treated the way they were. I only found out a few days ago from my cousin who lies in Australia, she told me about the babies being taken away from them and familes separated. Every year I do a themed fancy dress bbq at our home, this year will be Australia, which actually brought me to this video, for some inspiration.. But like you, after watching for only a few mins, I felt he was disrespecting them. I did watch all the video, to be able to watch the dances.. they were facinating, loved watching them.
It is a disgrace that the Australian government separated the children from their parents, thinking they could give them a better life. How do you think they survived all those years before the white man came to their land. The teacher said they couldn`t speak their own language and it could`nt be taught in the school. Well the aboriginals should be able to learn and use their own language , along with the second language. I`m so glad that they have this festival, so that the young ones can learn and keep their history going. No one should be able to take that away from them..
Thank u that was culturally interesting to know their still connected to their ancestors in an honorable manner. From perspective of a native american

This happened in most of the colonised countries of the world who had their own indigenous peoples not only Australia.
All of these dance troupes filmed are the ones who didn’t get affected by the stolen generation fnq
