Tutuye Zenebe Go on bethematch.com. You can register there and they will send you a package. You just send in your swab test and that’s pretty much it. If they find someone you match, they will contact you. I’m registered on there as well.
@@kayla.kenndy6502 I havent donated yet but I'm accepted on the registry.. so if anyone ends up matching me one day, I could save their lives. Until then I'm just waiting.
Why would you even mention race?? That's part of the problem.... it shouldn't even be mentioned. Are some people racist?? Of course... but some people do a lot of stupid things, it doesn't mean we should assume that the default is racism, which I think your comment does.
We might be different in the outside but inside we're all the same. We can save lives no matter color. Stop racism and love each other and this is sure a beautiful example.
This is so true. For those who think we are different because of our skin color....it's what is inside that counts. The heart of a white person can save the life of a black person and vice versa no matter the race.
absolutely correct. This just goes to show that whether you are black or white, our blood and marrow is more or less exactly the same. Completely opposites genetically on the outside, identical matches on the inside. God bless both of them.
True. However, they glossed over why blacks and hispanics have lower rates of matches. And that reason is that not as many blacks and hispanics sign up to be matched as whites do.
These two are so well spoken, sincere and comfortably open, yet humble. Great rapport between them, too. They'd be perfect "poster children" for recipient and donor.
Im a survivor of testicular cancer when i was told i had cancer i was in just a state of complete shock 😢it was the hardest battle i ever had to fight, im so happy that i best cancer
Wow. Such a thoughtful, caring and selfless handsome man. Is he married? Single? He's going to get a lot of requests from all the single ladies out there
Somebody saved my brothers life, and I will never for a second think twice about saving someone else's out there. I am going to sign up for this registry the moment I enter this comment
My favorite part is when you see the donors and recipients meet and their first huge is so true and full of love. Even though they have never met you can see their bond and how on both ends they truly love and care. Everyone is proud of the donors for stepping up and helping but you can see that all of the donors are so proud of the ones they helped for their fight and determination to keep going and make it this far. I love it!
Such a VERY heartwarming story,,,I've been reduced to tears & bet this DEAR & BRAVE young man's Family are terribly PROUD of him...My hope is that this touching footage is encouraging more & more people to signup for the possibility of saving someone's life by becoming a bone marrow donor someday...
Oh oh, I am getting misty. I am seriously getting misty with a lump in my throat. God Bless this young man and countless others who have donated an organ tissue, blood etc. God used Christopher to complete this spiritual mission.
Omg this woman is so adorable, she is sooo thankful to this man! He his so humble! I love this story! Does anyone know why it is harder for someone of colour as well as minorities to find donors? I didn't know this .. I will be looking into being a match!
You answered your own question the word is minorities. There are fewer people in the registry pool because of numbers. It's usually easier for you to find a match within your own racial group. African Americans are only about 8% -10% of the population. Latinos a little more, Asian and others less.
@@adc2327 African Americans are 15 - 20% and are the indigenous race before Asians from Siberia came.. Pure European Americans are about 60% and dropping.
Just to look into his eye is so mesmerizing like getting the opportunity to look at an angel. So handsome, wish I could take him home with me forever... LOL!
Since i was a kid i've always wanted to be able to help someone, im currently a simple blood donor but im ready to give away a kidney, stem cells, and if i suddently die my family has the orders to donate my still working organs .... in the end we are all human beings and deserve a second chance🙏
+Jan Primo It wasn't God that saved her. It was this beautiful young man, Christopher who saved her life. Humans here on earth are the real gods. Stop giving imaginary mythological figures all the credit for doing nothing.
I'm know someone who was on the registry to be a donor. He was contacted advising he was a match to someone. He refused to donate. Most likely that person died. Can you imagine how happy they must have been when they finally found a donor to save their life? And then he refused! I was friends with his wife. I asked why did he go on the registry if he had no intentions of donating. She says oh he thought that he would never be a match for anyone. He ended up dying in his 40s, a very painful death from cancer. I hate to say it but...Karma!
I want to join the registery but you have to be 18, I just turned 17 yesterday. For the time being I'm going to see how I can volunteer or get involved with the Be the Match program!
Also, this just proves God made us perfectly....we are all the same on the inside......our skin colour prepares us for the country we were born for. Unfortunately, some people were stolen from their country way back in history 😢
I never thought donor compatibility could transcend a person's race unless they were hereditarily related. And I used to think that a person had to be the same race as a first criteria in order to be compatible donors and recipients. This is truly smazing
i really want to be a donor...but i am not sure that in my country Sri lanka there is a place to get register and do the required tests to get register.plz let me know the procedure,
I donated blood in high school so I could chill for the rest of the school day, they love my blood type O- so I donated after school for time but kinda [put it off next week and stuff] I wish places would do this testing even in high school (can they do both at the same time)
I am O- too. In Kenya the biggest blood donors are high school students. The Red Cross goes around high schools in the country for donations . I am surprised that it is not common practice around the world.
I thought most the donors and recipients look alike. Until I found this one, these two are different colors. However, they kinda still have similar facial structure. like that mouth and teeth, (especially that chin) and nose.. pretty similar. just she's fatter, so harder to tell the similar jawline
Julia L Omg! I literally posted the same comment a few mins ago stating the similarity in their faces, the mouth area. This proves that racism, discrimination, hatred is pointless.
