Thank you, thank you so very much for this tutorial and all the information. I learned so much. At 73 however I doubt I pick up a new hobby, but I will know more and appreciate how the doilies my grandmother stitched were made. I am tempted to try, but I quilt, cross stitch, embroidery, knit and crochet. I love handwork and have my entire life. Simply not enough hours in the day .

Wow! This video is amazing. I’ve learned so much even though I’m not a beginner. I’m off to gather supplies so I can rerun the video and stitch along with you. Some of your tips and tricks are new to me so thanks! You are so generous with sharing your hardanger knowledge. Jane, thank you for supporting Julie. It’s appreciated.

Thank you so much for such a great video! I am patiently waiting for a supply order to come in so I can start this lovely craft! I am sure I will be re-watching this video many times over! But I did realize after watching it that I need red and green M&M's....I am sure I will have many stop and go moments in my maiden voyage of hardanger!! Can;t wait for the Part 2 video.

I ordered 22 count and as soon as it comes, I'm going to rewatch and stitch along. I need another hobby like a hole in the head, but when you two show your hardanger I think it is so beautiful and it makes me want to learn it. Can't wait for your next tutorial! Good job ladies.

Bravo! Well done! I have no immediate plans to do any Hardanger, but when I do, I’m going to rewatch this video! Thanks to both of you for making the video. Julie, cut yourself some slack and don’t apologize for your shaky hands. Maybe mention it once in the beginning then let it go. We all understand. 😉❤️

Never knew or heard of this technique - until I started watching your FlossTubes. Wow, this was a great tutorial, you definitely are a great teacher. Another interesting thing, I think some of the “hand me down” items from my family include some of this work. Not sure I will ever make anything with hardanger, but I’m more than happy to watch & learn. Thank you both!

Hi Julie, really enjoyed your video. Being a long time hardanger stitcher and teacher I learned something new. Love your way of starting threads. Thanks for sharing. I do have a suggestion for you. When cutting - you demonstrate cutting the right side then across the top then the left side. If however you cut each side from the bottom to the top and then cut across the top it is much easier to clip those side threads close to the kloster blocks without those loose threads flopping around. When you cut you call them knuckles I call them babies toes 😂😂 Lovely video I truly enjoyed and appreciate all your hard work. Don’t worry about shaky hands mine do too😊

No guilt! I had to stop the video, run to the shop and order my supplies. I already have your book!! Great job and having Jane
‘S commentary in the background adds to the fun. Just a suggestion for filming - put a sticker or other type of clue on the background you are using on the table so your eye and hands know where the camera is focusing for filming. That way you don’t have to look up at the video to see if your hands are in the camera range. It doesn’t help with focus but does help with general placement. Learned this trick from another great teacher. Hope you left some m&m’s for us!

Wow! What an amazing video! I started watching your flosstubes about 5 months ago and then decided to start from the beginning of your videos. I had never heard of hardanger but learned what it was by the pretty samples you show. Not knowing anything about it I didn't know what I was looking for when you referred to kloster blocks (thought I was hearing cluster...duh), wrapping, picots - what? Now I know. It is amazing what one can do with a needle and floss! Thanks for super video! P.S. That cutting part was scary!!

I think I may even have some instructional material with Julie's name on it, lol! Thank you for this refresher! Question… on the chart your stitches look like they go in a straight horizontal or vertical line but watching you on the cloth it seems that you diverted over by one hole. The needle does not look straight up and down but rather over one is this correct? Great video by the way I’m learning a lot as a beginner.

    • @runningwithscissorsstitchi5320

Counting over fabric threads stabbing needle in fabric weave hole and tipping needle top up in the next fabric weave hole to advance to place next straight stitch. So on the front the stitches are straight and on the back you will see they are slanted... does that make sense🙂
