Teemo is the pinnacle of underestimation. Regardless of how many videos pop up of teemo popping champs or someone burning to death from half hp, people will think of him as a braindead troll champ and ignore his threat. People also ignore his impact because he seems to just kind of exist, but his shrooms let him apply objective control from across the map while you push lanes or look for picks. He zones adcs by just not being on the map because they have to play around his blind, and he can set up goofy flanks that other champs would never go for.

It should be noted that renekton probably expected to face irelia. He went dblade bone plating instead of dshield second wind. Lane would have probably gone differently had he done the latter

I actually think Teemo is pretty hard because of his range is only 500, for beginners skill based champions like Zed, LeBlanc are difficult to get into than AA champs, but after certain point in high elo, because Teemo's range is so short, you have to decide whether to Auto attack or use only Q and just faint AA and move backwards and kite(while placing shroom), you can't AA them mostly first, you have to be aware of opponents skills defensively more, which sometimes would be more difficult than just Zed, Leblanc pressing combos...Also Top Teemo play heavily relies on minion wave control since he is very weak to ganking and can have kill opportunity when the lane is pulled, which beginners are not good at controlling the wave. Also, without Nashor, Teemo can't 1v1 and split, for 1v1 he heavily relies on Nashor.
Havn't played league for years but back then I used to main teemo top. I still remember 9 years ago going from g5 to p1 within 200 games only as a teemo top. Its a pretty good character and requires tons of baiting.
I can attest to the power of movement speed. One of the STRONGEST supports I ever mained was actually pre-rework gangplank. No cap. Old GP's E gave allies +20 ad and something like a +20% move speed buff. While his global ult AOE slows enemies. You would run circles around skill shots and relentlessly cut the enemies comp apart. While I also ran items like zekes herald (another 20ad + 10% life steal) with iceborn gauntlet (a ranged slow in GP's hands) that, despite how unpopular the item was, it turbo boosted my adc and the players trying to copy the pro's with thresh or annie at the time just had no answer for the unreasonable amount of mobility and damage gangplank could give himself and allies, PLUS of course GP's orange, you could face check the CC and shrug it off. I was also on the PBE running Yuumi + Garen before anybody else caught on to that disgusting duo, and all we stacked Garen with Knights Vow tied to Yuumi, Yuumi with the now removed freeze ray that had 20s cooldown, you couldnt chase us, you couldn't run away from us, tanky Garen couldn't be burst and it drove enemies crazy trying to deal with us, the only counter I ever saw was a heavy assassin comp, they simply ignored us, picked our allies off, pushed lanes and objectives and we couldn't be everywhere at once.
If the enemy team has 5 sweepers, then they don't have any warding trinkets. Meanwhile your team has warding trinkets and shrooms on the map providing vision and area denial. Inherently, counter-building for Teemo puts the enemy team at a disadvantage.
Teemo never gets picked in pro because he provides practically nothing in team fights. Any tank will be more useful in late game and many champs offer more damage. Teemo is good for 1v1s, which is stronger in solo queue.
I mean teemo shrooms give vision, can be used in fights and to push waves. Even if the whole team buys sweeper he can spread out his shrooms and on top of that they can’t sweep wards or get nearly as much vision while the whole team can see where they are when they sweep his shrooms. Point is even the enemies all buy sweeper he can still get lots of value and the team loses a lot of potential wards and the ability to sweep enemy wards while teemo can place shrooms so often and use them in battle and to push waves.
I’m not sure if midbeast knows but teemo gets a large burst of attack speed when exiting his stealth so when you see him go into stealth for a moment he’s prepping that

There is def a skill dff between EUNE and NA. Just looking at the amount of sweepers/pink wards the enemy team bought says it all. Also that dive the Udyr and Kennen did was the kind of half in half out dive you expect from Plats in NA lol. If kennen just comitted to doing anything other than S keying at the edge of turret they could have had teemo. Also there really is nothing too crazy the teemo did this game. He just has a roam heavy playstyle and the enemies vision control was bad.
Its funny how ADC is the current OP meta on rift and tanks/bruisers are op meta on ARAM. It's nice coz mages, assassins, and adc all had their turn on ARAM. Enjoying Yorick, Malphite, Moakai, Hecarim, Renekton, Tank swain, and hell since it's season 14 I've even had to bust out the bruiser sundered sky ekko when we lacked AD/frontline. Bruiser ad ekko is actually in an amazing spot right now coz s14 tank/bruiser items are favored af.
only thing good here was his q timing. Zwag, which u should make a video atleast once, played teemo only for fun up to challenger with like 70+ %winrate
Idk why people say Teemo is the most hated character. He is annoying but very easy to counter and undertooled compared to 90% of champions nowadays. I can think of dozens of champs that deserve the most hated title more.

Teemo always been S tier. Few got the will to play it for 10+ yrs and master it.
