I was there for two of the Earl's Court shows. The first time I absolutely fell apart during Comfortably Numb- tears, sobs, full on ugly crying for the sheer beauty of it.. The second time, I thought I was ready for it - Nope. It hit me just as hard, if not harder. I don't think David has ever played it the same way twice, so each time it's new and fresh. The only problem with the video is that you don't see how bright the mirror ball was, it was blinding- you couldn't see, couldn't think, the world blew away and all that was left was the colours and the music - total sensory overload in the best possible way.
Love your words. I am so glad you had this experience!
There might be a couple of million people feeling jealous of you. The rest of us close our eyes and let the music lead the way.
Yes it was great , I feel sorry for the people who booked the first day at Earls Court, as one of the stands collapsed and the concert was cancelled, the day I went I came out got on the tube and could not hear much for a while.
I doubt you needed to 'see' anything......just shut your eyes & let it sweep you off on that rollercoaster of emotions......must have been an amazing experience!
The first 'experience' at the Earls Court concerts was walking into the side hall to be greeted by the original 7 metre stone sculptures from the Division Bell.
So lucky. I lived not far from there in the 70s as a student, but my only times going to Earls Court was for trade exhibitions! So sad to see the demolition site when I was there (at Olympia this time) a couple of years ago.
So much feeling put into 1 piece of music. He does that with all he plays. No one will ever be like that again.
Pink Floyd and David Gilmour is the best of all times 😎👍🎶🎸
Amen!
I agree with "Megadeth mastermind Dave Mustaine [who] shared praises of Pink Floyd guitar master David Gilmour, calling him vastly superior to a solid portion of today's "shredders." Dave told Premiere Guitar during a recent interview: "When you live, breathe, and feel the song that you're writing, the song pretty much tells you what it needs. "I'm not a believer that a solo has to be shredding with a wang bar, though I think a lot of people do some really great work with that. "I'm of the belief that a player like David Gilmour could do more with one note than some of today's shredders can do with a dozen."
This is awesome, great quote! Couldn’t agree more.
When you listen to Gilmour play you know the way he describes this is 100% true. He just gets lost in his own music and his brilliance allows him to go to where ever the music takes him to. Absolutely love Gilmour and the Floyd. I have the great Pulse double CD and my only criticism is that the cuts between tracks are clumsily and wrongly executed.
@@alikat89 A Fucking Men brother!!
@@gustaaf1892 I have the video, the DVD and the CD and fortunately the CD is that old there are no cuts, same with The Dark Side Of The Moon.
@@secondchance6603Okay then, I'll swap you LOL.
“Your lips move but I can’t hear what you’re saying...”
A guitar that "scratches" the heart, a strong meaning, a spectacular song !!! And you ... You simply wonderful
FEVER DREAMS: www.healthline.com/health/fever-dream
Only the greatest band ever
I was there. 1994, left side of stage about 4 rows up from the floor. It was everything you can imagine it was.
July 10, 1994, RFK Stadium, Washington, DC, 3rd row. The Pulse concert was the greatest concert experience of my life. Almost 26 years ago to the day and it has stuck with me to this day like it was last night.
React to "Time" by Pink Floyd, the lyrics become more relevant every year you live. I'm 72, it ready hits home!! If you are interested the seed for Prog Rock, listen to "Over Under Sideways Down" by The Yardbirds. There were 3 guitarists 1st Eric Clapton, 2nd Jeff Beck, and 3rd Jimmy Page.
Everyone BE SAFE, sheltering in California.
Seen them 4 times so lucky .truely the best
I was at that Gig. When the glitter ball opens it was a spiritual experience. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it.
Great reaction man!! Same concert - High Hopes. You will not be sorry. (Every song from that concert rocks!) The light show is amazing.
"Coming Back to Life" was excellent on the Pulse tour as well. I wish they would have done "Poles Apart" more (Live). Not very many versions of it out there.
I saw that tour in 94 in Philadelphia the first night. I had the same reaction you had from watching the video. Goosebumps. You could see every inch of the stadium when that mirror ball was lit. It was in a word "perfection".
My cousin was there and he said though out the concert everyone just stopped and stared like hypnotic zombies, that's the thing with Plnk Floyd it is the whole package not just the music but visually for eyes and ears to take in.
Ahhh, Pink Floyd. They are amazing! Great reaction Alex 👏👏
Hi
I saw Pink Floyd Pulse concert when they come to Portugal in Lisbon and that music live is the best solo i saw .I was there. The best concert of my live
I saw Floyd in 73 for the dark side tour but a woman down my gym went to pulse I've been jealous of her ever since.
For me the best innovative rock band ever and after 40 plus years I still never tire of listening to them, but as with us all age is catching up with them but the music is for me timeless.
I was there and to this day THIS that was the ultimative concerte expirience. You are right until today i feel blessed for that moment in my life.
“Whoever was there...was blessed by God.” Truer words have never been spoken. This is a masterpiece! Generations to come will listen to this with the same awe we all experience hearing it. It’s actually better the more you hear it because you aren’t as overwhelmed as you are the first time. I just came across your channel today, and your reaction, your appreciation of the beauty of the song, and the way you FEEL the music in your soul, got me to subscribe. There is a “thing” that connects music lovers, that the others will never understand. Lovely reaction, and thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you for your beautiful words, what I've saw in this video and specially what I've heard made me believe that I'm blessed be able to hear this.
kathleen,, almost everything you just said is absolutely true..except 1 thing..and the 1 thing is..To This Day..This Show..This Song.Still Moves Me Like It Does When I First Heard It..
It Still Does For Lots Of People..Check Out There Concert In brazil.. Thousands upon Thousands Move Emotionally..You Can Tell By The Masses Singing Along With The Song..They Knew The Song Knew The Verses..Not The First Time Hearing It.. And Being Move Emotionally..To Tears..
It Was Incredible.. No,, Not Incredible..It Was BELIEVEBLE Very Believable..For Me It Still Moves Me Like The Very First Time I Heard It..Just Like The Thousands And Thousands It Moved In brazil..Even Though..They Already Knew The Song.. Singing Along With The Song Verse By Verse..
It Still Move The Masses To Tears, Weeping Very Emotionally..Very Openly..
@CD I got goosebumps reading your words! I can only imagine! I will definitely check it out. Thank you so much. 🥰
I was there at the Foxboro mass show, driving pouring rain early may 94. The memories of it and seeing this show still bring tears to my eyes and the hairs on my neck up.
David Gilmour plugs his guitar into his soul and is powered by the universe.
I got the VCR copy of Pulse for Christmas the year it came out and played it all day. When this came on, everyone went quiet and sat there in stunned beauty. Even my parents who were in their late sixties just swayed along with it... you don't want it to end..... ever....
I was one of the lucky ones to be there and believe me,, I wish I could turn back time to be there again and again and....✌️
@Derek Charette 👍
@Derek Charette BTW, I was lucky before that when I attended, back in 1980, The Wall Concert in the UK. At the time the setting of the stage and the characters used in the show were AMAZING let alone the music/songs.
You should watch it in your own time,,, check it,, its availabe on UA-cam (The Wall Concert/show 1980) ✌️
ua-cam.com/video/n1b3GO3FHqs/v-deo.html
If I knew, I would have done everything that I could do..to get there..be there..
So happy you did this live version, the guitar solo by David is just extreme. (No shredding required) "High Hopes" from this same concert is a must listen to as well. Actually anything from this concert, except for "The Great Gig In The Sky". While the live vocals are OK the studio version vocals are far superior. I guess that would be another song to do a comparison of studio to live. Thanks Alex! Stay safe & stay strong!
Thank you, and stay safe ❤️
@@AlexNChannel let me suggest you to react Pink Floyd suite Echoes (the album version first)....i'm sure you'll thank me after listening
I don't use to add new songs to my playlist very often (wich is full of Rock, Metal and Classical music). When I first listened to this song I had the feeling that it was technically amazing but even so, I couldn't find that... "extra" - sometimes you need to listen to a song a couple of times until you understand it -. Two years ago I watched this performance and since then, It is obviously in my playlist. This music is timeless and will be remembered forever.
I saw this concert live in July 1994. At Vet Stadium in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. That disco ball coming down and reflecting light all over the stadium made us feel like we were in a small room.
I've watched that probably 100 times or more. And I STILL feel my heart beating faster during the solo and chills running up and down my body!
I think we are all in a kind of wonderland at the moment, but who better to be there with than Pink Floyd 💕💕🤘
I saw this tour at Chicago’s Soldier Field in July of 1994. The mirror ball rose up from the 50 yard line on a hydraulic lift. It went up 3 or 4 sections. The mirror sparkles not only lit up the stadium, but also the Chicago high rises along the skyline, dancing from building to building. It was an incredible visual experience to go along with Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V). It was so good that we drove to Detroit to see the show in the Pontiac Silverdome a couple of days later.
I was at Earls Court London 1980 the Wall concert. And in Sydney 1988 Delicate sound of thunder tour. I was blessed twice!
I was first introduced to Pink Floyd in 69. At that time they were a little different as compared to The Stones or Beatles. Boy did they evolve over the years to become one of my favorite bands.
My Dad became a fan in 69 too. I became a fan at 5-6 year old in the mid eighties listening to his old vinyl. Not thought about them again since my teens but I’m so happy UA-cam pointed me in their direction again. Absolutely amazing.
I was at this exact concert. There are no words to describe how good it was.
I have no idea what show this was in 1994, but Pink Floyd toured that year in the Division Bell tour. I saw them at Foxboro Stadium and it was just like this. Every show on that tour was like this. And, yes - I was blessed by God for having been there!
I dare you to find a guitar solo that has more passion and skill than this one.
Yes.....there are lots of shredders and technically skilled players out there, but no guitar solo I have ever heard makes me “feel”like this solo.
It is matchless.
The best band, the best song, the best concert and the best guitar solo ever♥
High hopes from the same concert is also amazing,a huge favourite of mine, the whole album is incredible to be honest, glad you liked that version of comfortably numb
no matter how many times I watch this performance, it will always be one of the top performances of all time.
Last time come pink Floyd in México city wow wow concert now i love pink Floyd
You're right, that would have been a show to be at for sure! Always wished I'd seen them live when I had the chance, darn.
This song has given me chills for 40 yrs, thanks man.
Yes I was there for one of the shows. A faultless evening. It makes me wonder what floyd gigs would be like these days if they were still together amicably....it would be utterly stunning. I always HAVE to watch the song after this one and you would be amazed again. Run Like Hell. Stunning. No other words....
not sure if organizers could cope with demands for gigs. Floyds are iconic now and will remain for eternity :) .
Thanks Brother Alex. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, = TIMELESS. Today's music is already FORGOTTEN !
Thank you for doing this one. I was there at one of those Earls Court shows in ‘94. Sitting just to the left and in front of the mixing desk, the mirror ball was just over my right shoulder. It was an incredible gig. I’m so glad the event is captured on film and can continue to be appreciated by so many.
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
the pink floyd made history, an excellent video, an excellent reaction👏👏👏
"I'd like to have 10 hours of one song by Pink Floyd."
Oh yeah, we all feel that way.
Well if you want to get closer to 10 hours there are "Dogs" and "Echoes" (17 and 23 minutes respectively. 😌)
I do that with wish you were here for 10 hours. It makes time just seemed to fly when you're working on your computer
Hi James, if you haven't already done it Listen to Dark side of the moon, it's seamless on side one
Tampa Florida, 1994 was outstanding! .. I will NEVER forget 🤩
This piece of music is, in my opinion, the epitome of rock lyricism. Gilmour's solo(s), rightly viewed by many to be the greatest in rock history, are operatic in sweep and majesty. He gives his notes a near vocal expression that leaves first-time listeners stunned, often in tears. Experiencing this live was the apex of my concert-going life.
I saw them live in Cleveland in 1977. First, we smoked weed and played frisbee all afternoon in the parking lot. Then, as we made our way to the stadium, there was like an impromptu market set up at the end of the parking lot where vendors were selling drugs on indian blankets of many colors, mostly LSD. We bought some acid and it hit us just as the show started. All I can say is that it was one of the most incredible experiences of my 65 year life! I love watching people like yourself get turned on to them now. Their music is timeless. Peace...
I watch this on a daily basis, I feel it gives me heart and the will to carry on, thanks for the review..
Great reaction again. Since you're reacting to Floyd, BandMaid and Babymetal, I'm not surprised you're in Wonderland! Knew you'd appreciate the live version and it sounds like your dog likes it too! He/she started barking when David Gilmour started playing so he/she has good taste. Stayed on key too! All the songs from this Pulse concert are excellent, especially Shine On You Crazy Diamond and...and, well all of them. I saw Floyd live in 1989 and they ended with Comfortably Numb, blasting it out at about a million decibels around Wembley Stadium - still got chills. Not sure what I'd say was my favourite live gig - Floyd, Zeppelin or Babymetal!
Viva Pink Floyd 💗💗💗⚒️🤘⚒️🤘💗💗💗
Just think the beauty we can create , NO MORE WAR!!!!!!!
Why am I the only person to notice that all these reaction videos are watching the CUT version of this song? This version was the 16M views, 9:52 long, UNCUT version, 203K views, 10:59, and everything they cut is from the guitar solo!!!! Please rewatch the FULL version of this song, believe me, it is worth it!
For me I prefer the cut version. The bits they left out interrupted the pace of the build-up and David Gilmour (blessed-be-his-name) actually fluffed a note or two (it happens).
Saw your studio version reaction first and was so happy when I saw you do this one as it always brings out more emotion and feelings live
I think this is one of the most beautiful, heartfelt and genuine reactions to this song, that I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing, You didn;t need words..your face said it all! Welome brother, we've been waiting on you. Oh forgot to say...I think you'd enjoy Echos.
I was there...it was like an out of body experience...life changing.
The fact I hear dogs barking in the background and the clock on the wall is mirrored makes this even more Pink Floyd!
This solo is absolutely epic! It is full of passion, soul and heart. You can hear it in every note. It is breathtaking and one of the greatest performances in modern music history!
It breaks my heart that I wasn't able to experience that concert, from the wrong time. They were blessed indeed!!
I was there. It was that good...
Oct 94
Once you done with Pulse (which is the name of the album / concert video NOT the name of the Tour) check out Echoes Live in Gdansk
Ohh God 💗
I'd seen Pink Floyd 5 times dating back to the 60's, before 1994... I waited in line for 3 days and nights to get tickets to this concert when they came to the San Francisco Bay Area. This, as amazing as it still is, was the highlight of one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen. In that guitar solo, David Gilmore proves that you don't have to be a guitar shredder to be considered great. I'm 72 now and it still gives me goose bumps. You need to view the whole concert.
70 here..saw them before dark side in phila. The whole place was tripping 😳 I came alive...stay safe..
I was there... their 2nd set... blew my tiny mind! they played the full album of The Dark Side of the Moon... start to finish... Alex N you were right... I did feel blessed. They then played the encore in which Wish You Were Here was first, this was their second last song then played Run Like Hell to end the show.
I was lucky enough to see Roger Waters, Nick Masson and Richard Wright from Pink Floyd with Andy Fairweather-Low play in Hyde Park, it was billed as a Roger Waters gig but they played the entire Dark Side of the Moon album live, and after that their encore was all the best of Pink Floyd, they even finished with Comfortably Numb ! It was epic, at the end of their set I was in tears ! It moved me so much, this song has to be the best piece of music these guys ever recorded, when ever I hear Comfortably Numb I am taken right back to my youth as a spotty 13 year old hearing this for the first time in my best friends house as he was lucky to get The Wall album for Xmas, we played and played that album in till we knew it word for word, even now when I need a few minutes to myself I go to my shed put my headphones on, sit down on the floor and play Comfortably Numb, it's just that great !
Yup, seeing this live was like witnessing a supernova.
Yea, I wasn't that fussed about the Earls Court shows. I only booked tickets for 6 straight nights . lol
Well put
Chills, yes. It won't be the last time that words don't come easy after listening Floyd.
David Gilmour can get more emotion and feeling out of one guitar string than most guitarist can get with six.
Roll a doobie or splif. Put your headphones on. Dark room. Turn it up loud. Kick back. Close your eyes and drift. That's Pink Floyd.
I was lucky enough to witness this experience live in the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 3 nights in a row. Man did we save-up for these concerts ... the tickets were expensive and the smokes came on top :-)
I was lucky enough to be there on that evening and was lucky enough to see them reunite at live 8 for the 1st and last time since the original band split .
I'm the bless one who saw it in Montreal forum and i still remember like it was yesterday
I was at one of these concerts (right at the back lol), totally amazing night, they were so on top of their form
It is hard to find words after watching this because the music said everything. Great reaction
I got the chance to see the “ Pulse” show in Italy in 1994..... they’re LEGEND!!!
That was one hell of a journey. I saw this concert live in Vancouver, BC. It changed my life. If you want Floyd to take you on another journey, react to Echoes. Both the studio version and the Live at Pompeii version. Both will blow you away.
Whether its because i know what's coming, but as soon as the guitar solo starts, my eyes automatically close and i get goosebumps all over.
Civilization: we want the most all round perfect guitar solo.
David Gilmour: ok.
I saw this concert in Torino Pulse 1994!!!I tell you, MAMMAMIA!!!!
Questa si che è musica.. sarà difficile trovare nuovamente una band simile in futuro.. super video!
It just shows that you don't have to shred to make a guitar solo great or stand out this is one of the most beautiful solos ever so smooth and mesmerizing it is perfection at its best
the solo and the lighting show wow superb
Perdona que te hable en español, pero me encanta tu selección porque me lleva a mi juventud y a tu sensibilidad, thank you 🎶
Do yourself a favor, and listen to the entire "Pulse" DVD live!
Pink Floyd is and will always be my number one band, followed by Nightwish.
I think this the best guitar solo ever.
Start with the album: wish you were here. Then The dark side of the moon. And don’t forget the song Echoes, the b-side of the album Meddle. The Wall. Etc
Pink Floyd a visual and aural experience!
What is really remarkable about live Floyd (apart from the awesome visuals) is how great the sound quality is. It's loud but crystal clear! You can hear every fucking little detail of what everyone is doing. Their equipment and sound engineers are the best in the business, the mix is just perfect!
Its like a Religious expierience
One of the few genuine reactions to that solo I have seen. Saw you get the goosebumps that we all get at 09:37.
You obviously feel the music
le tue reazioni sono uniche...mi piace troppo guardarle....🥰 Pink Floyd forever...❤️
I saw this concert in Munich. We were not only blessed by God, I think we saw God make an appearance...! It took a long time to come down from this high. Now, 26 years later, when I watch this concert (or listen to it when I am driving) I am able to relive this moment and get that feeling again! Pure perfection!
Semplicemente favoloso e poi i Pink Floyd sono sul podio dei più forti al mondo
I was there, May 12th, 1994 Clemson, SC Death Valley stadium
I love Pink Floyd! Great reaction! :)
"HYPNOTIC" Actually I think you found the Perfect word.👍
Art can not get old only more worthy
That entire concert was amazing and the whole thing is on UA-cam
well "Alex" every thing you listen to from now on will be measured by that.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Buona vita ragazzi.
God made the Stratocaster and blessed DG to play it. Only man I've heard who soulfully can make his instrument like a voice.Love your reaction .Try any track from this same Pulse concert . It will blow your mind.Start with Run Like Hell the last song on the set, and a light show with a powerstation behind it
I had a wall clock in the 1970's that WAS backwards like that one . and by the way . I saw this live 2 times in 2 different cities in 3 days in 1994 So. Cal . Best of memories .
Me & my friends saw this tour at Yankee Stadium, totally blown away!!
