Backyard Plant Propagation Episode 12 (How to Root Perennials - Salvia, Butterfly Bush, Sedum). This video shows how to root herbaceous perennials. I included Salvia or Sage, Butterfly Bushes, Sedum (How to root Succulents), Guara (Whirling Butterflies), and Fall Blooming Asters. All of these perennials are easy to propagate. This video also includes an update on plants rooted in the other videos in the backyard plant propagation series.

I’m such a lazy Gardner that I just snap things with my fingers and shove in the ground, some die but I’m just a home gardener so all that live is such a wonderful bonus. My yard is full of sedum, Purple Hearts, gardenia, hydrangea. Can’t wait to try salvia!
Hi ive just found your channel and subscribed straight away. This series is exactly what ive been looking for. Im hoping to start doing this next year to make some extra money. I just have a couple of questions, could you use sand to stick your cuttings and what time of year do you take your cuttings? Any help would be appreciated many thanks.

+Molly Salout Very easy from stem cuttings in the early summer. The rest of the year not as easy.
Some of the leaves of cuttings in my mist system are browning and falling off. Could I be overwatering? I have it set for 6 seconds every 10 minutes.
+A Adamonis Shorten the frequency and reduce the time it is on. 6 seconds is definitely to long. I currently have mine on two seconds every five minutes. I have great pressure so mine gets up to speed quick. Might three seconds on yours
