You did a great job on restoring the FM TrainMaster. I was going to suggest you use an ultrasonic cleaner. It really does a great job of cleaning out the old grease. I have a large collection of TrainMasters. That thing will pull more than 75 cars. 👍
Great job fixing it! I just recently got one of these myself and I swear I believe there’s no limit on what it can pull! I’ve had a couple fight me when I’m trying to fix it, like currently I’m working on a 736 that’s been giving me fits, but I’ll get it lol.
@@ronalddevine9587 my plan is to try to build a coal drag of about 25 post-war coal hoppers I think it will pull that without a problem and it will look impressive.
@@CloverdaleTransitAuthority I've had mine pulling about 100 freight cars, mixed vintage and mpc. The only problem was mpc couplers tended to pop open.

@@TwistedMacGyversTrains that's a great idea. I think you can get those fairly inexpensively on Amazon.
Works like a dream. I knew you would get it back together.

@@joshuacampbell9990 some are more of a challenge than others!
Most definitely! Today hopefully I will get the 736 back together. I had to step away from it along with wait for parts to come in.
@@joshuacampbell9990 good luck and enjoy!
Great work 👍 nice locomotive I recently bought a Southern fm at a show couple weeks ago they are amazing great video 👍
Thanks you! The Southern FM is a beautiful piece!
Enjoy her. I've had mine since Christmas 1956. They are EXCEPTIONALLY powerful engines. They just glide effortlessly over the rails.

@@ronalddevine9587 yeah I've had couplers that I've had to tape shut.
Ive used automotive ATF to clean difficult to get to gears and bearings with success.
