Acapulco is Mexico's biggest tourist resort located on the Pacific Ocean, in the state of Guerrero. In the past, Acapulco has become the “Riviera of Mexico” attracting large number of foreign tourists with its warm climate, gorgeous beaches, many bars, restaurants and hotels.
In the recent years, unfortunately, Acapulco has got a bad reputation of a dangerous place with high crime rate. Today, the resort suffers a massive decline in foreign tourists and is being visited mainly by Mexican tourists. There is intense presence of police everywhere, aiming to ensure the safety and security of people. Many tourists before going there are interested in how safe Acapulco is today. I can't generalize, but from my personal experience in Acapulco, I can say that we didn't have any safety issues, the place is fabulous and it feels calm and safe.

You better go to Cancun where is much safer and they offer lively nightlife. Sorry, but I can't encourage you about going out at night in Acapulco....I just don't know ( I went out at night in Cancun, but not in Acapulco )

Did you ever feel unsafe? How much was the cruise and would you recommend it? Did the holiday inn get crowded? Nice place?
Hello, I didn't have any safety issues. It was calm, though there is police at many places. The hotel was not crowded and it has very good location with wonderful views. . The cruise was very pleasant and I do recommend it, it costs about USD 30-40
