Honestly it feels like they didnt want to solve Shayne's fear so they put him in Hell rather then something that would actually, help him. Like, Put him in a room with some dolls that arent cut up and let him like, hold and touch them to see they arent harmless. Dont put a mime dressed up in the corner and demonic laughter.
I think it might be that shayne's fear is less of a catastrophic phobia, like he can see them or be around them but is deeply uncomforted by them. With liv it was more of an irrational phobia so they knew what he reaction would be and how she would need to be more taken care of

This is one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen. From Shayne comforting Olivia, to everyone supporting her. I loved every moment of this.
I think her phobia is the swarming, when they’d open the box and they would fly out was the worst part for her as far as i could tell. but shayne, ian, and sarah were amazing with her, they helped her and made her feel so much more comfortable and let her take her time. truly amazing friendship. love y’all!

Not to sound corny but seeing the butterflies landing/chilling on Shayne was lowkey symbolic lol. Like he was so kind and sweet and supportive of Olivia. I'm sure some of it stems from his psychology degree, but he's also just such a good friend the way he comforted her. "Don't feel stupid." Like, he's right. Phobias are weird and irrational. He's so goofy and funny usually but seeing him like this is very humanizing. It's how we should all be to our friends struggling, even if it may seem silly to most.
Shayne feels so bad and concerned for Olivia. He always touches his head when he's uncomfortable or stressed. He handled it so well when he was in there with Olivia, it makes sense that he has a psychology degree.

Okay but for real, those who don’t have a fear of butterflies don’t have a clue what it’s like to have that phobia, but I think this episode did an effective job at showing a perspective that we often don’t see. I felt Olivia’s fear as soon as the camera zoomed in on the large butterfly display (5:50-5:52). I never really thought about how alien-like they seemed to those with this fear and now I kind of have an idea of it. And the second she screamed after they opened the butterfly box I felt exactly how real that fear was (7:47). I appreciate them supporting Olivia through it, it shows a great amount of friendship they all have (especially Shayne). Very proud of Olivia especially, she did a wonderful job at facing her fear. 💙
I mean it's an irrational fear for a reason. It's irrational. So people that dun have a similar style of fear won't really get it. Like saying to a person afraid of heights 'what!? we are just high up... what's there to be afraid of?'
I don't even have a fear of butterflies but I react to my irrational fears in the same way olivia does so I felt the fear she had like it was my own.
I have a fear of butterflies, not this extreme but only in like a butterfly sanctuary. Same with birds.
If it’s just one, cool. It’s just minding it’s own business. If it’s a group, I’m the one invading their space, I could very well be a target if they’re trying to make me leave.
TL;DR I get this fear but on the opposite end of the spectrum. I would not be able to face my fear in a flooding manner like this, it would all have to be gradual and for that, anyone who can be flooded and make it through, it makes me so happy and proud for them.

He's like me in my friend group. One time i was out drinking with my friends, me and my best friend live close to each other so we went home at the same time. We were both pretty f***ed up, but when he puked and started to feel really bad, the feeling of being really drunk just completely left me and i went in to dad mode lol.

I have an insane fear of dentist tools and I went to get my braces off today, and so I listened to shane comforting Olivia and it made me feel ten times better 🥺
When I was a kid, I saw the wormy episode of Spongebob (they zoomed in on a butterfly’s face and made a buzzing noise) and it LITERALLY traumatized me and I’m now afraid of butterflies or any winged bug that buzzes lol. So seeing Olivia go through this made me extremely happy for her and I just jumped for joy when she faced her fear oh so well. Proud of you bb❤️ and shout out to Shayne for being the best supportive friend ever? Made my heart happy 😊

I don’t think Shayne has any actual phobias. When asked what his biggest fear was, I think he picked the closest thing he had, which at most is just being creeped out by dolls. He played up his fear for the camera, and the Smosh crew knew that. Olivia meanwhile has a legitimate phobia of butterflies, so they had to be a lot more understanding in order to get her through it
