Most people who scuba dive have a shared passion for nature, wild life, colors, and diversity of the underwater world. I got certified in Bora Bora 20 years ago, but finally got to dive Rangiroa. It's absolutely like no other dive site I've been. After you backroll into the water, it's simply mind blowing how vast and blue this area is. Nothing seems real here with the deep blue water, the scale, and how slow everything seems to move. For me Rangiroa underwater is among the most peaceful places on earth.
We had a small group of dolphins circling on the surface. A mother and baby took a breath of air and glided in front of me. You cannot describe the visual and emotions of seeing this. This is why I dive.
I'm on the tail end of a six month dive trip. My next and last stops are Fakarava South and Fakarava North. Please follow me as I put together another six month trip to report on the health of our reefs.
I've done over 200 dives around the world in the last six months. It's been tough traveling and diving back-to-back from location to location. This consisted of diving at 15 dive resorts and 2 liveaboards. I've been shooting almost exclusively with the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. I probably know this camera better than most, if you would like to see videos of what I've learned not only with this camera, but the whole concept of replacing large camera systems with action cams, and also doing very long dive trips, let me know.

I have to say: your videography and editing are top notch! How many days of diving contributed to this video? I got a GoPro and took it to Hawaii last week. Definitely an upgrade from the olympus. We had a fun night dive and did some snorkeling

I booked 10 dives and only did 5. You would be surprised to know how few dives I actually make in the last couple months. The camera I use allows me to do almost zero corrections, that's why I can knock an edited video and publish it the day after the last dives. It would be hopeless to try to put together videos at the rate of travel I'm doing to do otherwise. Homework has to be done real time, meaning no time.

Your wife is a special person, to buy you a new camera for your passion in diving and videography. I have a short story to tell. I was diving Bunaken. My dive young Indonesian dive guide was so infatuated with my videos that he watched them all and asked questions. My question to him was did he have a camera, the answer was no. I told him I would give him a camera. The next day I looked thru my bags as I knew I had several GoPros, but forgot I gave away a housing away for the older GoPros. That left me one choice. I didn't want to bail on the promise. I needed up had giving a GoPro 12, housing, extra battery ,massive memory, tray with arms, and get this, a pair of 7000 lumen video lights. Promises made must be promises made.
