Apparently this contest was posted somewhere and has become popular. Three parts are on UA-cam. This first round: ua-cam.com/video/p0y88Qs0XxU/v-deo.html Here is the second round: ua-cam.com/video/_stDNxIGj6U/v-deo.html ...and the Semifinals: ua-cam.com/video/Ns8Kc-uTuns/v-deo.html I did not shoot the actual Finals as that occurred at Milwaukee's Summerfest and I did not have a photo/video pass. Sorry. The winner was Lucas from Seattle (the kid with the purple hair.)
Jarrik73 I don’t know if you would call it an “equipment failure” when it’s was just the batteries in his pick-ups that were dead, seems more of a “player failure”
Fun to watch. Everyone has to start somewhere, but everyone should take note of the kid with purple hair. He played fast (who cares) but he played the notes CLEAN. All of the contestants should know how fast they can play while playing the notes cleanly. I was impressed with the purple hair kid because he played the notes cleanly. A side note, I got a laugh and smile out of the contestants that "jerk their jaw" and "play along with mouth movements."
I imagine at that age it's really tough to get your shit together on stage in front of so many people, so everyone that got up there and tried /fistbump
Takes me back to when I was 16. The one thing that sucked was the anemic dried up tone these kids were provided. An OD pedal and a delay pedal should have been on. When you play with crap tone you sound is going to Peter out. Great job kids. Keep shredding.
Even the worst among them were still quite good for the environment they had to "compete" in. Keep it up guys and girls, you're all young and on your way👍
I wish I had been able to shoot the finals, but that was at _Summerfest,_ and there was no way I could have gotten a photo/video pass. Lucas with the purple hair from Seattle was the ultimate winner. Lauren Conner from Chicago had been the winner the year before.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2, Um, I would adjust the basic settings in 5-10 seconds. Wouldn't even bother with bass, treble, mid, or reverb. Just pre and post gain should be enough out of a Marshal Amp to do any kind of shred.
@Guitargreat I do enjoy life and guitar very much. I really don't care what people think or say about me. Offering insight is not being a "know it all."
all blues scales.... what happened to yngwie's influence? they all sloppy too like jimmy page in song remains the same live video... not one harmonic or melodic minor scale....tsk tsk tsk.
Hey nobody played a Les Paul? Or did I miss it (oops) posted this just as a guy played a Les Paul white Studio I believe A few high waisted guitar players lol Dad influences? A few SG’s too
all of them had skill and talent just because you do not define it a skill does not mean they don't have skill that's your opinion not facts so stop bashing these guys and just appreciate young talent

nice!
If they hade more gain and some reverb it would sound a lot better
Just to follow up, the winner was Lucas from Seattle with the purple hair.
Not sure if trolling, or genuinely doesn't understand how equipment failures are a thing.

"hey drummer play a kick-ass beat and DONT STOP......or I will not be pleased.....lmao
Christopher Michael Hubbard from a seasoned player, you’re absolutely right about that. Everything should be spot on beforehand
yea he def had the cleaner runs for sure.
Congrats to all these kids that competed, they were all awesome.

He was the final winner.
George lynch does that too

16:40 video becomes a Fender tone demo
Purple hair kids fret hand is elite. Only people who have tried understand.
He was the winner of the final contest.

Sad how some kids couldn’t access that classic Marshall tone and just stayed in clean channel with no boost whatsoever 😢
Love how the set up gets larger each time
the kids at 12:06 and 16:35 had more emotion in their playing than anyone just an opinion
Painting your fingernails and wearing fingerless mittens always make you shred better.
12:35 zeppelin
Most of them lack control
there young and still improving very few of them are gonna have complete control of there skill
The first word in the title of this video is school. Do you know what that word means?
6:59 Michael buffer
Is there some kind of limit on how much post/pre gain is allotted on the amp? Or, are they using lousy guitar adjustments?
It's a shred contest. Each kid gets up there and shreds for a minute, and nobody gets any time to fiddle around with amp settings.

Sorry, Mr perfectionist.
It's just the green knob is set too high.
To be honest, these kids or guys were pretty nervous so 30 seconds is plenty. They were all great 👍

Should have just gotten Steve Harvey to host! 10:35
Rick Carney was available for free.
Brian dude with the Strat killed it. The rest of them have such crap tone and no technique.

I liked the youngest ones and the Panthers/ Iron Maiden dude
How do kids get their intonation off when they're playing frets?? Ha Ha
Michael Buffer is going to sue you. LOL
Take the stupid tuners off the headstock
