- as requested, this is how I made my pedal for my DD-65. It still workin now 6 months later without it breaking at all! This is a stirdy constrution that took 2 and a half hours to make but is so worth it, It feels and responds like the realy thing! So have a go if you have the time, the total cost was £3.50....
This is probably the best diy bass pedal!!! Omg
This is brilliant, thanks. Will build something similar for my DD-65!
haha amazing idea! I have this drum machine too, I never thought of this :)
good idea, I will do this but use a second hand drum bass pedal instead.
Nice work!
Thanks SO much. I've been looking for an actual bass pedal for the DD-65, and I found a pad. (REALLY expensive) Plus, I would have had to buy an actual pedal to hit it with. So this is MUCH MUCH cheaper. Again THANKS SO MUCH!!!
Glue some foam above the button, it will reduce the impact on it , thus prolonging its life and will damp slightly your hits to feel more realistic.(Mechanical Engineer drummer :p )
@Bezwaldo1
Thanks! I did not realize you just posted this and it was still just 6 months you had been using it. haha
@MegaArtguy
No problem mate, Mine is still going strong! the beater broke once but because its made out of wood it was easily replaced! now its stronger and more durable.......;)
Nice bro.......
You made a direct drive pedal!! Impressive!!! anyways i wish i had more money i would spend for 50$ Tama hp30
Its still goin strong after 18 months, and I give it some serious stick too!
The hi-hat pedal I made on another video has the button underneath and can be used for both kick and hi-hat. This pedal feels more like the real thing and you have more control over it too.
The only thing I have changed since this video is the strap, which is replaced with a stronger nylon strap from a rucksack...;-)
Sorry to hear that mate, mines still going strong! The only thing I have changed is the strap on the beater, I have replaced it with a strap from a rucksack, Its megga strong and is never going to split!
I have done another video on how to make a hi hat pedal, it is a lot easier to make and you can use it for the kick with the same great result........Hope this helps....;0)
@twelvemeister yeah, it is set up different, a lot easier to make too, will post a video soon...;)
thanks!
@radsbr Glad to help...;)
@Bezwaldo1 That's what I though, thanks! I think I'll use your basic design, except made out of metal and customized a little, to design a double kick... I'll post a video reply if I decide to do it.
Question: Does the Yamaha pedal stand up to the pedal beating fairly well? I already have an actual bass pedal and the floor pedal that came with the DD-55...I found this video because I had the idea to mount the floor pedal. I am just curious as to how well it works once you start drumming?
u should have put the button under the pedal like the old guy on his video. that way it would work for both hihat and bass. how long do u think it will last with that mallet slapping it.
@Bezwaldo1 what about the hi hat mate . did you do one for that
@Tazthewonderdog No I don't think it would have the power! I only put a short beater on it to limit the force that it hit the bass pad with........;0)
Do you think one of these would have the punch to use on a real kit?
@rrguia Este é um bom substituto para o KP65 se você não tem um monte de dinheiro, e funciona muito bem ..........
@Ninjafiedrummer
Yeah ya could but what would be the fun in that......;)
@qtlesgrl I have been using it for 6 months and not had a problem yet, Hope this helps......;0)
It didn't work with me.
eu fiz diferente veja
veja yamaha dd65 e kp65
muito criativo!
