I thought this video was going to show the biggest moments. Where are the awards for best play and best musical (including best revival)? Where are the speeches, whether funny or inspirational? This video should have been called “Biggest Celebrities at the Tony Awards.”

I'll summarize it for you: A lot of out-of-touch rich people further emberassing the country and pushing child grooming.

I never thought I'd go for years at a time without anticipating seeing the Tony's. Certainly not the Kennedy Center Honors! Except some rare instances, or a solo performance,, it's simply no longer about the CRAFT! Same with the Kennedy Center 'Honors'. Especially the past 8-10 years, they've been handing those once coveted honors out like candy, (i.e. how is it someone like a Joni Mitchell is ONLY receiving this award 1-2 years ago? I think of some of the ARTISTS that we've lost-- whom were alive...some still performing when this award was available -- individuals that ACTUALLY paid their dues ... making significant change in their respective craft and discipline, leaving indelible marks: Miles Davis, Bacharach & Hal David, Cab Calloway, etc. There's still a handful of these individuals that exists, each representing lasting and stellar careers-- some spanning over half a century, others, since, becoming American and international icons: Johnny Mathis, Dionne Warwick, the legendary trumpeter and bandleader, Carl 'Doc' Severinson of the classic 'Tonight Show'....Dude is still hangin' at 95! And that's just in the music category. I can go on and on, as I'm sure many of you of you can, as well. I'm simply disappointed at the nose-dive these once iconic venues have fallen. I know art is subjective, but WTF!! As for the Oscars and Academy , I no longer keep track of them -- nor do I miss it, (Special-effects and the 'Awe factor' alone doesn't cut-it for a lot of people.) That's it for my rant. I won't even start in with the 'music' industry. What a complete joke that's become. For the past 35-40 years, the so-called 'music' industry has pretty much eliminated actual musician (and bands) and, most of all, MUSICIANSHIP from the process altogether, replacing it almost solely with 'popularity', aesthetics, machinery and gimmicks! The one aspect I am enjoying -- and was VERY much needed-- is the diversity and featuring other voices. SORELY needed in these particular venues. Peace, everyone... and support your LOCAL artists!!

these are the tony awards where the performers are in and out of jobs, working in coffee shops, waiting tables, and then performing in summer stocks in the country. They ain't rich.

@@rockdaddy2168 I wonder if you’d express the same contempt when other industries lavish wealthy ceos with awards every year, whilst paying the employees who make that possible a pittance? At least here, you have proof positive that the nominees are the people who make the magic happen, who grind and train and pour their talent and time into these shows so that we have something to break up our humdrum lives.
