Runic Games developed the Torchlight series, and Travis Baldree (the designer of Fate) helped found Runic Games, so in a way, it does have a continuation. I only recently made those connections when I went to try Torchlight for the first time and noticed the similarities between the two.
@@generalpockets8979 Years later, I too had the nostalgia bug. During the Covid shutdowns I had more time indoors to play all sorts of things I used to long ago. Still good times.
I've found it twice, on two out of the three characters I've ever had, at around levels 3-5 as the first artifact fished up for both characters. I was clothed in overpowered enchantments ever since.
Just fyi the cheese head is a reference to the NFL team , the Greenbay Packers. Emerald = green, Packers fans famously wear cheeseheads at their home games
What's hilarious is that I found the cheesehead once many years ago before I moved to Wisconsin. But in the 12 years I've lived here and played the game, I have not found it again! XD
I've been playing one of them lately. Really hoping to get my hands on some of the others. I love your content, as you're the only person who's got this kinda charm for this kinda game. Thank you so, so much.
I try to buy perfect Zircons from the seer and install them into my items I wear , however since it’s rare for her to have them sometimes I’ll save and log out to check back on the seer hope this helps your noble quest 😅
On a side note I heard of an extremely rare “Cheesesword” that’s dropped by enemy Lich lords only found in the steam version of Fate i used cheat engine to help me as I don’t want to loose too much time playing the game . I just started it days ago 😁
I downloaded all 4 games yesterday. I played the original for like 5 hours before going to bed. I brought up UA-cam on my Amazon Kindle Fire and watched this vid (and a few others) before feeling tired enough to make it worth trying to sleep. This morning I get out of bed and take my character to the fishing dock in town. The first thing that I catch? THE CHEESEHEAD!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!
You call that Cheese Hat worthless but, if you just don't get hit, that 75% magic item bonus is probably the best thing that'll ever happen to you. Combine that with the Bling Ring and you'll be fishing up some true power, as well as having your pockets filled for eternity.
agreed. When I found it I would use it 2 ways: If on hard lv, kill all monsters then don the cheesehead and go break the breakable stuff. OR go back to a level of game where mosnters didn't cause so much damage and use it. I was able to build up money that way.
Apparently Cleve's Cloven Cleaver of Cleaving is also in Torchlight. And I was also quite caught off guard when I found both the cheese head and Auntie's Gift. I'm pretty sure both can only be obtained through fishing.
Yay, feature videos! Definitely new concept of yours 😁 Also, I was surprised to only see the "food" at #3 on your list. If I'd done this, it would have been a 2 or 1 😅
my sister once found the peronto's cheasehead of the emerald bay once and she got it by buying from the gambler guy. she got so upset because the vitality penalty of course, but then she found this one item that gave her a vitality bonus, with counteracted the cheese hat
Now, I know what to look for when playing the game. Hope they come out with another game with player's home (instead of the trunk), so I can hoard items.
I just bought this game for the sake of nostalgia (and because the game is amazing tbh) and I got the cheese hat in the second hour of playing by fishing. I was also playing as a summoner, so it basically fits like a glove and makes the gameplay much more fun, because I'm forced to lean on the summons. Cheese. Do you feel it? I feel it.
The only ones I've never found before is ring of bling. Not certain if I ever found tap tap. It was probably something I just identified and sold without thinking.
Same. Though I am crying right now. I usually retire a character after finishing the big quest, but this one I didn't. I went to dungeon lv 57, character was at lv99 and fame of Immortal and before I could retire and choose the totally awsome barbarian axe that totally kills the undead ... a glitch crashes the game and I loose all the characters and have to uninstall game and reinstall just to get game to open again :____:
Question there's a rare gem stone I've only found in the demo and it was worth so much gold it was the only thing you needed to sell for an entire playthrough to buy whatever you'd need the only other thing I remember about this gem stone that it looked like a ruby what was this gem stone do you know
One year later... eye of the serpent is a ruby and is also THE most valuable gem to sell in the original Fate video game, at over 350,000 gold pieces. It has +10 mana recovered, 12 percent mana stolen per hit and 5 percent movement speed penalty. You can sell it and then turn around and buy several superior sapphires at 9,000 GP apiece (six is more than enough) and with the necessary sockets have all the mana recovered you'll ever want or need. With all that mana recovered, there's no measurable benefit to mana stolen per hit and you won't be stuck with the movement speed penalty either.
I have gotten the Festy's Rope-a-dope through fishing several times. I had totally forgotten about the Gem of False Hopes. That seems rarer than Festy's rope-a-dope, as I've only enountered it once before and that was years ago. Funniest thing I found fishing was a Cheesehead...it was one of the Cheesehead hats and had a 100% chance of finding magical items and... I forgot the gold dropped but it was high. It did come with a big penalty so chancy to wear it during fights. I would clear the level of monsters wearing actual helmet, then don the Cheesehead to go smashing all the smashable things for quick money. Like the gem of false hopes, I only came across the cheesehead once. LOL Had paused this to type above out and then went to finish watching ... annnd there it is and with the full name! And while I remembered right the penalty was high I got the gold & magical item mixed up. Oh my... I totally forgot about Auntie's Gift! I've encountered much of these at one point. Only ones i have nerver heard of was Smiledriver, Lobsterfork and Branston's Bnawtee Ring of Bling.I've seen some Wisconsinites wearing cheeseheads but can't remember if it was for a specific team, like the Green Bay Packers, or general
I got the infernal cogs a few days back, and i went to enchant them even more, but the enchanter removed everything. so i spent about 100k and got boots 10 times better. i was dissapointed the yellow color went away.
That's some hilarious items I didn't realize existed I'll have to look into those I'm currently in the process of trying to make a few custom items myself one of them being Thor's hammer it's going to have between zero and 5,000 damage and I'm going to make the hit chance very low it's also going to have a penalty to defense so you have a chance of one to two shotting most enemies but at a very high risk I might tweak that a little bit in the future we'll see
Peronto's cheesehead of the Emerald Bay, is definitely an item I have never found in Fate. Most the others yes, but that cheesehead... hahaha come on, really? Defense 1? Though, it does have 75% magical item.. with -75% vitality. .soo... -shrugs-
I've started many characters but only finish a small percentage. Of course by finish I mean I complete the big quest given at begining then retire. Dungeon lv 57 id deepest I''ve reached. Though I hear the supposed to be a lot more lvs going down, I've not reached it.
It would be better if they "MAKE A SEQUEL" for this series! I played this a lot when I first downloaded this. I got all four games GOOD OLD GAMES G.O.G version!
They should revive this series, it was definitely one of my favorite RPGs to play back in the day

I actually got that cheese head when I was fishing and I didn’t know what it was so I saved it in my box
The bunny ear hat is a reference to the film A Christmas Story. The main character was sent full body bunny pajamas as a Christmas gift from his aunt
I still play fate today on windows xp. It’s nice to still see people play this game 😅
windows xp come on lol, im still playing fate traitor soul these days, the journey is not over
Bruh, I never knew there was a Green Bay Packers cheese head reference and a Christmas Story bunny pajamas hat in FATE.

The time I got the cheese hat randomly years ago will forever live in my memory, it was so funny
I'm just now playing it and FOUND the cheesehead. xDD It's my first one since I played Fate like 9 years ago! Good god, gg to me. xD
