THANK YOU to Jonathan Palance and Soda City Films for producing this video.
recorded at the Harbison Theatre on April 3, 2021
I love the old marching drum hes using for his snare drum. Sounds great.
Brilliant. 👑👑👑👑👑
Beautifulllll...
José in portugal
Yeah cool stuff, heaps of feel.. Great!!
Thank you so much.
cheers!
Wow!!!
I think this was a great performance, it's nice to see Chris out playing again
Instead of repeating time and time again those beautiful tunes of the 30s 40s 50s it’s nice to hear tunes from later and more relevant to more audiences
Wowwwwwwwwww 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🎷
This arrangement is a lot like Maynard Ferguson's HEY JUDE as arranged by his bass trombone player, Adrian Drover. Features the tenor instead of Maynard's work. Same key I believe.
Agree
This IS the MF arrangement with tenor substituted for trumpet lead.
ben eidson is my favorite saxophonist
I wonder if Chris heard the Tubby Hayes version with the end tag improv.Chris' playing is great as usual.
this was good
Wunderbar

Who did the arrangement of this, and can it be bought?
Came here after Jacob collier. Slightly different energy in the performance:)
Chris Potter slays this aggro arrangement!!! His playing is incredible, and I keep rewinding certain parts for his phrasing (specifically MURDERS 3:57-4:16), but I'm getting harangued by this trumpet section... It's such a nit-picky critic comment to say this, since the trumpet players sharing the lead book are good, but damn if this arrangement doesn't distract from the other-worldly soloist and generally killin' band. (tho I would be surprised if that shit at 4:18 is in ink)
I guess what I'm saying is, if one voice stands out against the soloist, it better add to the solo, not just be a piercing rendition of the melody that's only cool if you know how hard it is to play on trumpet.
-sincerely, a brash brass aficionado
Potter is a beast :) But sorry, this arrangement is sounding a bit like in a circus arena with horses running in circles...
It sounds like a watered down cheap knockoff of Adrian Drovers arrangement of Hey Jude for Maynard Ferguson’s band recorded on M.F. Horn 2 in 1972.
😂😂😂😂
Frankly, Beatles never sound in Jazz. Circus music, absolutly.
The band is fantastic.
That is correct.
trumpets think they are soloists😅
Tubby is smiling up in Heaven.
This makes me think Paul McCartney wrote "Hey Jude" specifically for Chris Potter. Or it might make McCartney wish he played Sax- like Chris Potter.
Trumpets got a work out
The opening was so weak I wanted throw up. Good grief
Pués para ser honesto me parece bastante pobre, hay momentos en que están casi por fallar.
hhmmm, and why orchestra is so bad?
Wrecked the song in my opinion
