What I love about these reviews is how you covered a vast range of different styles. It's a great testament to the guitar's capabilities itself, but really the decision of what to show really appeals to so many different types of players. The reviews that Nick does are my favorites that I've found so far. I love that he doesn't hold back on the likes as well as the dislikes. The video comparing the Silver Sky and the NF3 are both amazing because it really lets the guitar do it's now talking, so to speak. Well done!

Absolutely killer demo. Great tones and exceptional versatility in different styles. Great choices of notes and superb use of effects. I got my NF3 last week, and I love it. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this!

This was the best sounding (recording wise) review I've seen so far. I especially appreciate all the different tone demos and genre specific playing. It really highlights the versatility of this guitar. If I get one of these in the future, it'll be in a huge part thanks to this amazingly detailed review & demo. Thank you!

Aloha Nick, loved your thorough discription of the PRS guitar. I have been giging with a 10 top custom for some time. Since 1988!
    I'm a fan of PRS guitars. M 😎Thanks!

I had to try one the first week they were released. I agree with everything Nick said in this review. If you want a Strat, get a Strat. If you want something more versatile, try this. It sounds fantastic. The fit and finish is excellent. The setup on my guitar was as good as my Standard 22 S2. I, too think the locking tuners should come standard. I'll add those to mine and it's the only upgrade it'll need.

Excellent review! I would be all over the SE NF3 (Please note the sequence, as putting the "SE" at the end would indicate that the guitar was part of the previous series which was replaced more than a decade ago.), were it available with a Pattern Regular neck. That requirement is why the SE DGT is my only PRS SE guitar.

My Custom 24 CE Single hollow is a flame maple top red. I bought the orange rosewood. It feels closest to my Red American made CE. Crazy good for an $800 guitar vs a $2600 guitar

+++ Nick sad it all and i can see why he likes it a lot, so do i. Just bought mine and its my favorite in the moment, like he sad, she does it all quite well. I`ve been looking for some nice warm PU for my Fender, its a Rabbithole+++ This guitar is in that direction and it feels so nice because of 25 Inch Scale. It plays awesome+++ Thank you Nick for this great video+++

I too am going to get one of these in the next couple of weeks. I had to laugh at your Strat warm pickup rabbit hole comment. I’ve probably tried over 20 bridge single coil pickups and couldn’t get to the warm, not harsh tones this guitar comes from the factory with. The only Strat I currently have is an HSS pickup configuration for just this reason. I think PRS has a real winner here!

I just very rarely use the middle pickup on my HSH MM Silhouette...for me, it's function is for use to get those quacky tones...the 2 and 4 positions...but this guitar, the middle pickup just sounds great to me...just very useable tone. Very pleasant...I wish it was a 24 fret guitar, but I'm still considering getting one, because I find it very even in output when traversing through the 5 possibilities. Thanks for the review.

What's the signal chain please? Obviously 2 big Marshall amps at the end, but what effects system? It sounds gorgeous ❤
Superb playing as well, sweet phrasing 👍

Excellent tones, playing and breakdown. Now I'm just wondering if there's any difference tone wise between the maple and rosewood neck versions.

I don’t know why I don’t like Paul Reed Smith guitars maybe because they don’t have one that looks cool enough to play for heavy metal music. I don’t know. I’m sure they play nice they look pretty but it’s just nothing I would buy I don’t like the name and I don’t like any of the headstocks. I’ve never played one because they’re not attractive enough looking for me to pick up. I pick up the guitars that are evil and sinister looking and look like they could do a lot of damage.

That was my basic opinion for a long time also. The general PRS astetics are too fragile and delicate looking. When the SE line started getting all the most popular models in production. I took a close friend of mines advice, and tried a McCarty .594 Singlecut standard in vintage cherry.
It's the largest slab of solid mahogany that I know of in standard mass production guitars.
Did quite a few mods/upgrades to it. But can say it's one solid slab 'o gee tar! The Low Turn pickups in it are the star of the show. By far the cleanest, most articulate set of humbuckers I currently have. That guitar is nestled in a Gator deluxe TSA chainsaw case, and isn't going anywhere.
When the NF3 dropped, I'd been looking for a full floating trem equipped guitar, for quite awhile. I'm not at all a Strat fan, and in general don't care for many bolt on neck guitars, period. This NF3 in Gunmetal Grey with a rosewood fretboard, has to be, thee most perfectly executed guitar like it. Simple 2 knobs and 5way switch that are out of the way, side mounted output jack, better trem than the Silversky, better tuners, better colors, flatter fretboard radias, 25" inch scale, maple AND rosewood fretboards, killer pickups. All for $50 bucks less than the John Mayer strat?
Had one locked and loaded before Sweetwater could even process it through. Ordered it the day of release, and one of the new PRS hardcase for it.
I feel like I'm getting very good at judging the overall value of moderately priced guitars. $629 for that McCarty, and $700 for this NF3. Is good value. You don't have to be a PRS fanboy to enjoy them.

Considering its neck profile and nut width, the PRS SE DGT has few or zero competitors depending on one's other requirements.

So do you not "feel" the instrument in your hands and not "listen" to what comes out of it? Maybe Steve Vai's Hydra is more to your liking if all you want is something that looks like it came out of a bad acid drop.🤣

They really don’t though. I work at a guitar store and they are constantly the best sub $1000 guitars by a long shot. At least on a raw quality standpoint.

    • @Deathcorp666

@@milesharris335 they are ugly. I’m fond of the Extreme series BC Rich, ESP and LTD guitars. Sketcher also sells specked out great playing guitars like Paul reed … I simply don’t like their headstocks or looks of Paul reed or sketcher , so I’m not attracted to them. I am however attracted to ESP and BC Rich. 🤑 not a fan of much else. Also $1000 is the base line price of most all pro level entry guitars. $1000-1800 can get most any pro level instrument… all my guitars were in that range except my Custom USA BC Rich V .. was considerably more. Also guitar prices today opposed to when Trump was president. They are 10 times higher if we get Trump for president again hopefully the economy will go back down which it will because that that’s what he’s great at.

@@Deathcorp666 to each there own. I understand that they aren’t a lot of people’s cup of tea on a vibe level. All I know is PRS is killing it on a quality level and constantly expanding there line. But it sounds like you are drawn to a very different kind of guitar which I totally understand.
