Dormition of the Theotokos Monastery ( Deir saydet Kaftoun ) a Greek Orthodox Convent (Monastery) Located in Kaftoun village north of Lebanon around 72KM from the capital city of Lebanon Beirut. The monastery belongs to the Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of Mount Lebanon. A beautiful rural place surrounded with citrus trees and green fields where the Al-Jaouz river passes thru the landmark, along that, a couple of old bridges adds charm to the convent surroundings.

I visited last summer, river was dried up. beautiful monastery and video

The river dries much in early summer but what is left of water is diverted for watering orchards aside the river flow, thanks for watching and commenting
