Ravels valses nobles et sentimentales is such an amazing set of pieces, one of my favourite! Each waltz has so much character, and the final waltz is such an amazing conclusion with its references to the earlier waltzes, so reflective….
All the way from the title to this first episode, I can tell that this will be a lovely ride! I'm a 15 year old looking to be a classical pianist and you are such a mentor to me, giving me insight with all your unique approaches to music. Thank you for sharing, Tiffany!
Really looking forward to this series Tiffany - you’re such a big inspiration for me, I look up to you a lot! Thanks for inspiring me to create my own UA-cam channel :)
How exciting: between the concert programs, album release, and touring. The BTS is so fun for us music nerds truly. Thank you and have fun with all these projects!!!!!!
Yay for a new series! It has been a long two days (just busy), and your videos are always such a mental palette cleanser. Also yay for finding new foods to enjoy (ok, maybe that is to be decided on cheese, but yay for still exploring). I am very much looking forward to your upcoming concert here in Michigan. I hope the Michigan weather is getting most of the snow out of its system now so that everyone will have a nice time traveling when the time comes. Thank you for sharing, and take care.
Discipline is half of life, and you definitely have that, in addition to your unique talent, to be the world's best pianist and to stay that way for a long time. 🥰
Ma belle pianiste, as it takes a lot of perseverance and ... cheese, smile, to prepare a concert! I find so much that you have a beautiful sensitivity to play the French repertoire, Ravel, Debussy. Bonne chance !
Nice to see you play Ravel - one of my favourite composers and I just never get bored with his fantastic Piano Music. - And by the way what Piano do have now - is it an old Steinway ?
You´re so natural stylish, when I watch your videos or your feed I want to watch an indie movie, listen music or take a bath and go for a coffe, I like it!
I'm looking very much forward to your album, especially the Alkan and Ravel pieces. Hopefully over time you can get a label to make albums out of your live concert performances! (The analogy with the cheese makes sense to all of us who eat (and like) Camembert and Brie 🤤.😋😊)
Describing Ravel's music as akin to cheese is such an apt comparison. It's an acquired taste that grows on you as you uncover its nuances, until one day, it just clicks, and you realize you truly love it and there's no going back. You know I already love Ravel's funky music, but as a cheese lover, I welcome you to the world of cheese and wish to see a fellow enthusiast emerge in you as well. 🧀🥖 Indeed, I find it interesting that you turned things on their head this time by being transparent on the album from the onset which is quite a contrast to your previous one. Also, I love the new style of this vlog. It seems you're keen on rocking the boat and ruffling some feathers along the way. 😉🌊🦜 I also once thought whether you started to learn French as you ventured into French music like you did with German as you explored Schumann and voilà, here you are with the (in)famous green owl. That made me chuckle. I'm now halfway through the last section of French since I started over a year ago and it's been a long trek. Je vous souhaite bonne chance dans vos nouvelles aventures. 😊
Oh my. I wouldn't have expected to see a piece by Alkan in one of your albums. Perhaps you might be aware of some of his gentler works such as his "Recueils de Chants", "Esquisses", Preludes, and "Les Mois".
Aw I don't have the time nor the creativity to write music. Just because I can play doesn't automatically mean I have the talent to write... Much admiration for those who can write great music though! :)
Like the starry sky, there is almost a whole universe of flavours when you open the door to the 'universe' of cheese. A Mothais (a French goat's cheese) with a flavour reminiscent of hazelnut and dried flowers. Or a piece of Tomme de Savoie... Where to stop? 😄 I like your comparison very much: a universe of flavours like the universe of sound colours and nuances when you open the door to the world of Ravel. I spent one of my most beautiful moments in France when I was a teenager. In Paris and in the French Alps (La Savoie). And especially in the Alps... I still remember sitting there and seeing this mountain massif right in front of me ('Mont Peney', but I'm not sure I remember the name correctly), this wonderful aroma: in the air, of the food (the fresh sheep milk cheese from the little mountain cheese dairy in the neighbouring village, this tomato salad, the fresh bread...), the warmth of the sun on my skin... Thank you for bringing back these memories right now. And thank you for your music and the inspiration you give! ☺️ Michael
La rue assourdissante autour de moi hurlait. Longue, mince, en grand deuil, douleur majestueuse, Une femme passa, d'une main fastueuse Soulevant, balançant le feston et l'ourlet; Agile et noble, avec sa jambe de statue. First of Ravel’s Valses Nobles et Sentimentales. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valses_nobles_et_sentimentales_(Ravel)?wprov=sfti1# The Valses nobles et sentimentales is a suite of waltzes composed by Maurice Ravel. The piano version was published in 1911, and an orchestral version was published in 1912. The title was chosen in homage to Franz Schubert, who had released collections of waltzes in 1823 entitled Valses nobles and Valses sentimentales. Quick Facts Published, Movements ... The suite contains an eclectic blend of Impressionist and Modernist music, which is especially evident in the orchestrated version.
I don't know if this just me or others can hear But it seems like your upper register keys must be Tuned & another point to mention is that & as a clinical Psychologist I say that there seems to a hole in your phenomenallygial world, this is not necessarily a bad thing but your attempt to hide it, ..., to me that's the thing you really need to avoid & the rest is just Please accept my highest regards 🙏✌🙂.
Thanks for helping me come up with the new series title! Hope you like it 🖤🤍
I've just booked my ticket for 2nd March. Looking forward to seeing you again in London! 🎹🎼🎶🤣

Aww being a mentor is a serious responsibility I won't take for granted. I hope you'll continue to be inspired and excited about the piano 🤗🎹

Thanks so much for sharing this exciting and fun-filled music! I've never heard of this before, as far as I can remember....

Right - Cheese good analogy. You are lovely, as always. Thanks for sharing this great music!
Great drive and sinuousness in the first waltzes! Eager to hear all of them.
God Ravel's harmonic language is so gorgeous 😭
Always enjoy hearing from you. 👍

Think of only the positives, Tiffany.
I can't wait for your album.

Ravel and cheese...sweet...thank you for sharing.

Good night from Netherlands
I am curious if you wrote any music, if yes, would be nice to play some of it, if not, you should! :)
Aw I don't have the time nor the creativity to write music. Just because I can play doesn't automatically mean I have the talent to write... Much admiration for those who can write great music though! :)
❤❤❤❤❤
I like the clear notes
My piano says "thank you."
Mouillé. Like the rythmic sentence "il pleut, il mouille, c'est la fête à la grenouille" (pizzicato)... Something "children" "sing" :)
C'est mignon, merci :)

Are you coming to London? I would like to attend that, but I cannot see anything on the website for tickets.
is the camera prefering the edge of your piano over your face to focus?
nice series title
Grand Rapids, MI is a good album launch location.. within a 3 hr drive of Chicago, IL, parts of Indiana, as well as parts of Ontario, Canada.👍🧀
Cheese can be very enjoyable. just be careful how you cut it.

@@christopheryoung1878 merci beaucoup!
Is the Lili Boulanger on the album too? 🤗
Scriabin piano sonata 9!!!!!
Just wondering, is this your personal piano?
My guess: Debussy Valse la plus que lente
😊waw 😊 and u grow ure french ?😊
hahahaha its all about the cheese :)
🐭
Girl are you ever getting back under the piano
Noice
did you not like all types of cheese, even mild ones? say even cream cheese?!?
Oink! Oink, Oink!
If you're gonna cover Ravel, you need to find a (ahem) "partner" for Ma mère l'Oye.
Chessy Ravel 😅
Then it was the 13th variation from Alkan Le festin d'Ésope (39/12), wasn't it? Didn't receive a like then... :(
Oops, sorry I missed your comment 🙊
