I had COVID as well, and the weirdest thing was the lack of taste.. I would eat and it was like eating air, totally feel you on that. I’m glad you are doing much better!
Awww Sarah, just want to send you lots of love, especially after hearing about everything you've been through these last couple of months! I really hope you're feeling better now, and you've always been just so incredibly strong and inspiring, and you continue to be just an absolute hero! Lots of love to you, Vince, Bonnie and all of your loved ones as well, especially during these trying times! 💛
Aww thanks Arshad! I'm doing loads better now 😊 I actually had it fairly mildly but the tiredness has wiped me out. It's been a tough year for so many people, I hope you're having a good week x
Awh hun so sorry to hear about your experience at work- that’s never ok and I’m so sorry you experienced that! Hope you are getting better with COVID now xx
Hope you get well soon Sarah! Sounds like you've had a rough couple months... I've just started studying OT at uni, and you've helped me a great deal with preparing, so thank you! 😊
Hi Sarah, you just popped up on my YT feed, a little odd as I spend most of the time looking at guitars and running vids 🙃. Obviously there's some sinister data algorithm linking back to Great Bentley 😅 Anyway, sorry to hear of your recent trials and tribulations. Hope you feel better soon and get those batteries of yours back on full charge. Best wishes to you, Vince and the adorable Bonnie (Vince is OK too 😉 ). Take care and thank you for being an NHS superstar
Oh hi Clive! That's so funny that my channel came up in your feed! Spooky algorithm. So nice to hear from you and hope you're well and still running. I often think about the Great Bentley running club :)
Hope you’re feeling better Sarah..Bloody horrible this COVID lark!.... Lockdown Puppy for us too..just the best thing ever..Med school stuff in full flow now. 😩...hope you’re feeling better soon and look forward to some more content. SJ
@@SarahNicholls so to cut a very long story short, I wanted a Border terrier, Cathy my partner wanted a Frenchie...We ended up with a crazy little English Bull Terrier (God knows how?) who is challenging but great fun albeit a stubborn little sod! hard work but a great distraction from the mad world events. Bonny looks a complete star!...
I'm so sorry you caught Covid! I caught it from my mom and we self isolated together. I wasn't too tired but I had a cough, a fever and I couldn't smell or taste anything for a few days (super weird, right?). But overall, I wasn't feeling terrible. My mom, however, was very sick and we were afraid she needed to be hospitalized because her oxygen saturation wasn't very high. Luckily she's doing much better now. I hope you're feeling better, too! Sending love from Italy ❤
Hi Sara, there are a couple of questions that i want to ask 1. You said you worked extra hours for extra income. I want to ask if you can exceed the maximum working hours for Doctors if you do locums outside your hospital? 2. are locum rates in the midlands higher than other areas? 3. is it easy to find locums?
Hello! I love a numbered list!! 1. No you cannot exceed the maximum hours, otherwise you are in breech of the junior doctors contract. Essentially if you did that and something bad happened on your shift, you would not be covered. 2. East Midlands pays well for locum shifts from what I gather through talking to my friends who do locum work in the South of England (London, Surrey, Brighton) 3. Yes it's very easy! Everywhere is short of doctors. You can sign up through an agency or the hospital bank.
A great fan of yours... Your videos are amazing and engaging. I hope everything works best for you and you keep up the good work. Looking forward to a lot of great Medical stuff too. BTW it's good to see videos of yours other than Medical too ☺️
I’ve also had a similar experience, when my brother lost his taste and smell he also thought it’s probably a cold and planned to wait for the results because he doesn’t have a fever or a cough or anything but I told him to isolate until then. Anyway I caught it too anyway lol. But I’ve seen 6 family members with mild symptoms who have all denied it at first, this stage of denial is probably common. All I heard for a week is “I don’t have a fever” or “I’m feeling fine” or “it’s just a headache”. No one knew it’s covid until taste and smell were GONE. I wish there would’ve been more awareness about it then he would’ve isolated a few days earlier and maybe my dad wouldn’t have caught it. Dad is fine now though but he had the roughest time obviously. I just think the messaging from WHO etc can be better, because those mild cases are probably the super spreaders.

What do you mean "assaulted at work" 😨😨😨 I hope it was nothing serious..... Anyway I believe u must have handled it pretty well,,being as confident as yourself..
Thank you, sorry for being vague but I can't share exactly what happened because it could compromise patient confidentiality. But I can say that it definitely wasn't serious and I am OK! Thank you ❤️

How long did it take to restore your sense of smell?
I had COVID as well, and the weirdest thing was the lack of taste.. I would eat and it was like eating air, totally feel you on that. I’m glad you are doing much better!
It's so strange isn't it?!
Literally my only symptom was loss of smell/taste. It was interesting because suddenly the texture of what I was eating mattered more than the taste.
@@SarahNicholls very, and it took about a month and a half before it returned again. Such an interesting virus.

Aww I really appreciate that!!
Have you recovered your sense of smell yet? A friend of mine caught it about half a year ago, and her sense of smell still hasn't fully come back.
It's about 90% back but some things are still very faint. I have always had a very strong sense of smell so it's weird for me!
I’ve also had a similar experience, when my brother lost his taste and smell he also thought it’s probably a cold and planned to wait for the results because he doesn’t have a fever or a cough or anything but I told him to isolate until then. Anyway I caught it too anyway lol.

Dad is fine now though but he had the roughest time obviously. I just think the messaging from WHO etc can be better, because those mild cases are probably the super spreaders.
I totally agree with you. Those of us who have it mildly can spread it so easily not knowing we have it. I'm glad you dad is ok now.
