You are absolutely right, even dormant companies carry an obligation to submit their Confirmation Statement every year. We can, however, send you a reminder when it is due so that you never miss a deadline!

So this is basically the same thing as the old annual return, yeah?
Hi Andrew. Yes, the Confirmation Statement replaced the Annual Return in June 2016! Is there anything else that you would like to know?

What it doesn’t cover is the timeframes for stages when late, surely you wouldn’t be struck off and prosecuted after say just a week?.
Thank you for your comment. Usually Companies House will start an active proposal to strike off (close down the company) within one month of the confirmation statement due date, and the company would then be closed down within 3 to 5 months (depending on Companies House workload) if the company does nothing to intervene in the meantime.

@@1stformationsI am in a situation where my employer is changing employees pay (my pay) and others without any confirmation from the employee resulting in pay going from salary to hourly with no guaranteed hours. Any advice?

Thanks for your comment and great question! It is always good practice to file a confirmation statement even if your company is in the process of closing. However, once Companies House have received your application to dissolve your company, you are no longer required to file a confirmation statement. What would you like to see on the channel next?

What happens if someone files a confirmation statement with incorrect information?
That is no problem at all Peter! If incorrect information is provided in a Confirmation Statement, it should be re-submitted using the relevant section of Companies House form CS01alongside the form RP04. The RP04 form is used to notify Companies House of a second filing of a document that was properly delivered but contains inaccuracies which are showing on the public register!

If you never filed a late confirmation statement you probably never had a company 😂😂😂 I have a feeling companies House might be worried if they see one on time by my company
