36,000 people helped to define the best cities to live in Poland and what makes them good (or bad).
I confronted the results of this research with my personal observations as an expat living in Poland, and in this video, you will understand why places like Krakow, Gdansk, Gdynia, and Katowice are among the best cities, while Warsaw didn't make it.

🔎 EXCERPT 🔎
Today you will discover their names, my personal opinion, and most importantly,
at the end of this video, we will explain why Warsaw is not among the top 10.
The 10 best places to live in Poland according to the research.
10th: Kraków
Score: 3.69 (where 1 means completely unhappy, while 5 means extremely happy)
The things that Kraków residents liked best were public transportation (39% said it has a positive impact on their lives), commerce (36%), entertainment, and cultural attractions (34%).
A curious result is that Kraków scored better than any other large Polish city in the availability of health services (20%).
The worst evaluated factors are the living costs (54% of the respondents considered that it has a negative impact on their life)
and the natural environment (48% of negative evaluations - the worst among all large cities).
My personal opinion about Kraków is that… it is not a bad place at all.
Although I live in Warsaw, I consider Kraków a more pleasant city in almost all aspects (an exception would be the job market),
and it is probably the best place to visit in Poland if you have only a few days.
They do have a great public transport system (and cheaper than Warsaw), and the city has plenty of cultural attractions that are often not present even in Warsaw
For example, the Cirque du Soleil made presentations both in Gdańsk and Kraków, but not in Warsaw).
The bad aspects mentioned in the research are also in line with my own experiences. Compared to other Polish cities, except for Warsaw and Sopot, Krakow is expensive, at least for Polish standards.
The complaints about the environment are also understandable. During the winter Kraków has some of the worst air quality of any city in the world.
9: Poznań
Score: 3.73
Best evaluated factors: Public transport (34% of the respondents affirmed it has a positive impact on their life), and availability of entertainment and cultural attractions (31%).

Krakow public transport is more expensive than Warsaw.
As a Foreigner lives in Kraków last 3 years. I can say Kraków is the best city in Poland, in terms of Job opportunities (Kraków is the corporation Hub in Europe), reasonable cost of living comparing to Gdańsk, Wrocław and other big cities. I am very satisfied with transportation system, very relaxing and slow life style. Only concern might be the pollution especially in winter times which I believe isn't bad except 1-2 days in year. Overall good city, which I am surprised for not seeing in top 3
Isnt Krakow way more expensive than Gdansk?
I was born in Gdynia, but I lived in Western Europe for a total of 13 years, I returned home last year. I have been to the most wonderful cities in Italy, in the UK - Manchester, and London, Koblentz in Germany, Innsbruck, Amsterdam, Santander, and Malaga in Spain, Prague, and many others, but no other place was as clean and safe as Gdynia :) safety here is at the level of a G7 group meeting
Interesting! How you would compare Manchester and Gdynia?
@@the_expat you can compare whatever you want :)
Nice video man!
Glad you enjoyed it
I find the information considering the number of cities/towns in Poland to be incorrect in this video. There is no division for cities and towns. All these localities we call the same way, say - cities. There is slightly over 1k cities in Poland. Some of them, around 65, have county rights, also called as urban county, and are governed by city mayor called the prezydent. The reminder are cities that may be described as having commune rights. Commune is lover to county level in local government structure. Those cities are governed by city (commune) mayor called burmistrz.
I live in wrocław i have another opinion. When I was in Trójmiasto (sopot, gdańsk, gdynia) there was not good air, much homeless people and drunks. I have my own opinion as a pol. On first place should be wrocław.
That is a valid point of view!
The trouble question is why Wroclaw is not in this top 10???
Cost of living is a big problem all over Poland.
Specially in large cities like Warsaw.
You need to get your posting clearer .your posting are out of focus!
Warsaw has become the seat of real estate and developer greed. It’s a great place otherwise.
Yes, it is getting REALLY expensive.
Warsaw is badly mismanaged.
Unfortunately I agree...
