Hey Daniel, I’m in the process of doing this as well. My one question is how will I get my taskbar/ themes/start menu personalized settings on the new account? Or is this something I’ll just have to redo manually?
Great video! I received my new Windows 11 Pro PC recently and after installing a myriad of programs discovered that my profile name had been set to C:\Users\User. I would like to change it to C:\Users\Fred. However, could you clarify if all the programs I have installed e.g. Photoshop, Lightroom, Macrium Reflect, etc would be setup and have access under the new Fred profile name. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello. Yes, whether you rename or create a new profile, all your programs will continue to work fine. It's just your files would need to be moved to the new profile if you choose that method. Also personal config files such as Google Chrome bookmarks, history and saved passwords. Other programs may also have personalization lost, but the programs will work.
Just carried it out and worked a treat. Now that C:\Users\Fred is now working and set as an Administrator, can I remove the original C:\Users\User profile? Thanks

Thanks for taking time to write. You'd have to do this manually afterwards.

@@FlyingCatPro You're welcome
@@FlyingCatPro Yes, but I would wait a month as standard practice, incase you forgot to transfer something over or some personalized settings.
