    You could have been an iconic guitarist in the 80's with these riffs.

    I saw Peter Frampton WAY back in the day, when I was in 8th grade. Rick Derringer opened up for him and played a BC Rich Mockingbird. This was probably late 70's sometime, 1977 IIRC. Tore it up!

    @cholo11 I hear the new custom BC RIches are pretty good, but I've never played one. However, my biggest problem is that nobody knows where these guitars are made. The guitars (and their certificates of authenticity) don't say Made in USA anywhere. Also, they're extremely expensive guitars - some of them in the $5,000 range! With a little patience, you can find on Ebay a vintage custom B.C. Rich in excellent condition like mine, and it will still cost LESS than a new custom one.

    Btw your vids are awesome, i subscribed a few months ago. You really helped me to know some of the most important things about picking out a great metal guitar. I'm a 7 string fan, but alot of the same things apply. thanks so much for all your great information :)

    @someone0209 I said in my comment where I mistakenly gave someone else credit for the circuitry. Neil's guitars are incredible. One came in for some minor electronic repair. It is always a treat to work on even an old crusty BC Rich pre 1987 Gunslinger, let alone the Moser Bich style custom bass that came in. The components are top notch and built for smoke filled air in clubs, and rough handling. They are also nice to work on as usually it is something simple. They are a treat just to hold.

    You forgot Chuck Schuldiner (RIP) in the BC Rich players section. He was a pretty important BC Rich player in my opinion.

  • @Satchmoeddie
    @Satchmoeddie 13 років тому

    My bad Neal Moser did the circuit design. My Bird and Bich used Dimarzio Super Distortions. The batteries ONLY ran the booster preamp. You can change a cap and resistor and loose some of the gain of the boost feature. It is easy, and reversible. I thought the gain was excessive for studio but stage it was better. Neil is making BC Rich style axes himself now. I think I'd buy one of his before a new Custom shop BCR. Juan was a master neck carver whether it was set, through or a bolt on. Awesome!

    I found two Gunslingers that sold for $300 each. I dated the pots to 1981 October. The neck plates number give me squat. They do not have the TM on the headstock so are USA pre 1989. . I tried to bid on both, but they closed at the same time. I got a rose pink metal flake that was dead, and the frets corroded beyond belief. The metal flake finish is great at hiding all the scratches and scuffs. Some ass put an import Floyd on it. I am buying a NOS Kahler Killer & making it like new.

    thats gorgeous..... Lovin the features.... split coils, boost, and I've never seen a Bass EQ on a guitar before. but why don't you use boost? it's awesome for low output overdrive sounds. If you split the neck pup and boost it with low to moderate gain with an overdrive tone youll get a crazy clear and articulate sound for leads man. Awesome video thanks for sharing, I 've learned lots from you so far man, Thanks a lot

    @dmometalguitar Great clean riff too. I'll be doing a Kahler video very soon, I'll be using all of your recommendations on my 1986 V220. Just bought some Lithium grease, Works great indeed but its a little messy. Have you tried silicone lubs? Once again, thanks for your reviews DMO, your Kahler series was priceless to me, keep up the good work.

    @dmometalguitar I saw one pop up on an auction site, but it was a Japanese knock off. It still sold for $900+. Without playing it first> ? Not my $900+ for sure. I have had a few pre Class Axe BC Rich guitars. I found a pair of first year Gunslingers at auction, but they went separately. They were custom order painted metal flake rose pink, and high gloss bubblegum pink. The neck is incredible! It is insanely well executed and plays great. The Warlock was a lot like the NAMM Les Paul I own.

  • @Satchmoeddie
    @Satchmoeddie 13 років тому

    Might as well just say RIP BC Rich and to the greatness it stood for. Now they sell 99% garbage, and their custom shop stuff I won't comment on. It seems expensive for what it is, or should I say what it is not.. It is not the awesomeness that Bernie Rico produced with is staff of wonderful artisans. Didn't Dean Zilinsky do the electronics on these, or at least the design with the preamp. Actually mine had DiMarzio passive pick ups with a preamp that was active, and boosted the signal. .

    @dmometalguitar How much would you pay for a 1970s Mockingbird, pre Kahler with the BC Rich hard tail piece 3 piece neck through body maple neck mahogany wings, Di Marzios, in G-VG condition with a couple small gouges and a few scratches, but good frets, and great action set up by myself either to a straight tuning or power 3rds and 5ths or for extra Buzz Feiten system and a Feiten shelf nut. I have Kahler's old LP Std NAMM guitar from 1978 and 1979 with an X-Mas card from "The Kahlers" (NFS)

    it might be wise not to turn up the booster volume if you don't want feedback.... I put the booster vol halfway which is about the sweet spot for this circuit.Sounds great like any BC from that era.Just thinking how much better it sounds without the trem which i'm not a fan of. These earlier BC's are a totally diff ballgame than the crap they're producing now...
