This brought me right back to the '50s. Not the music - I had to keep adjusting the Vertical Hold on my television. Thanks for this video - there's not enough out there on the genius of Richard Manuel.
The Band played with Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in front of 72,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. Of course, they played the Woodstock Festival on Max Yasgur's farm which was estimated to have 400,000 fans. The Band played a festival at Watkins Glen Raceway in New York state with The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead that had an estimated 600,000 attendees! That was by far their largest show.
This video is overlayed with the track from Rock of Ages, I'm pretty sure. Sounds verbatim the same. I do not think this is the musical performance from Wembley. See 33:50 here for the real thing: ua-cam.com/video/Z7CniLlueBI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ollyclam
You can clearly see in the description that is from a different live ( from academy of music 1971 NY). Just a good way to appreciate a great audio with a great video
That was Levon's story about The Last Waltz, Robbie rarely sang lead, he didn't have to, he had 3 great singers in his band, and he would be the first one to tell you that, but he did sing harmony. So petty to zero in on his lack of singing voice, when he was a great song writer and guitar player.
Great shots of Richard.
Thank You! The Band is the greatest!
A timeless Clássic. The vocal arrangement of This guys is super, and Manuel is fantastic
Rest in peace Robbie. Thanks for the great music

Excellent
Richard sounds great, but boy do I love Rick, he just bounces all of the place.
Richaaaaaard!
Whom'st'td've'll be listening in 2023?!
Was this live their biggest concert in terms of audience?
I don't know but for sure one of the biggest...
