I think it was during desert storm but I was about to board my plane when I saw a service man with his large duffel bag at the counter begging to get on the plane but it was full. I wasn't in a big rush to get home so I went up to the counter and I asked did I hear right that you have to get on this flight? He said yes. He only has about 3 days of leave before he has to go over seas. If he doesn't make this flight he'll miss his connection in Chicago and will lose time with his family. The ticket lady allowed me to give him my seat and put me on the next flight no charge. He thanked me again and again. I told him it was the least I could do for his service. Never did get his name nor him mine. If my brother, father, sister, etc., were in the same boat I would hope someone would help them out like I did. Ty Charlene for you helping out this family.
That is incredibly kind of you! Most people just turn a blind eye and pretend they didnt hear/see. People are in a rush even when they have nowhere to be. That was awesome of u!
I am not an American, but i am thankful for all the service your country had done to the whole world... I pray for those Americans who wants to destroy their own country to wake UP..they are living in the land of the free and the home of the brave....
Charlene went above and beyond for the Sgt and his family. Like others have said it’s just a really feel good story that we need in this crazy time and world.
I love this story I remember when my first son was born and my second son was born on the same day I graduated from NCO academy the Sargent major handed me my diploma and said congratulations now get to the hospital LoL August 6th, 1982 that was a proud day for me. God 🙏 bless this family and all serving and those like I who did serve.
OMG!!!! I am absolutely bawling right now. What a beautiful person inside and out to be so selfless to get a military daddy home to be with his wife and new baby. I am an Army mom and my son and daughter in law just had their first child, my first grandchild. I would have moved heaven and earth for my son to be there for the birth of his daughter, but, unfortunately, he couldn't make it home to them. He won't get to see her until she's 3 months old. All of both of their families are in California and they are stationed in North Carolina. Fortunately I was able to go out for the birth and her first month, but I wish my son could have been there. Bless this serviceman and for this wonderful angel for getting him home. ❤❤❤
This was a beautiful story. Thank you Charlene for doing what was right for the Braves serviceman. And thank you to this wonderful army veteran for sacrificing so much for this country your dedication to country and duty is highly appreciate it and I also want to say thank you to your family For sacrificing everything that they do not having you home when you’re overseas. I wish blessings upon everyone involved in the story it is truly amazing I hope when I have my own children that they grow up to be just like all of you
So many every-day heroes among us. 99% never get the attention they deserve, not do they want it. Thank you to everyone who has ever done a kind deed for someone.
The military NEEDS to treat their dads better but so happy in humanity that he got a ride home. ❤️ His baby is still so little and I’m just sad for him and his wife that he can’t be home with them. Like shouldn’t he be transferred closer to home? No other job are families not prioritized as badly as the military. Our military is notorious for shuffling people around with no to little notice.
I was getting on a plane on my two week leave. I had a seat in the back of the plane but honestly I could have been in the cargo of the plane would have been fine with me. A guy in first class came and told me to take his seat not asked! I was like I can’t do this you paid for that but he insisted.
Thank you sgt craven for your service im glad u made it home for the birth of ur adorable son i was adopted from russia and love and support our military no matter what i would do the same for any service men or women
First of all, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your service, Sir and congratulations to you and your wife on your adorable bundle of joy. Secondly...I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, Kelly! 😘
Kelly I just love y’all so much. You are one of the sweetest (unless you are playing a game lol) people around. I hope your show last a very long time. You make this difficult quarantine a bit easier knowing I have you videos to look forward to.
A sweet thank you for such a gesture would be to name him Charlie for Charlene. He could have been Cooper Charles or Charles Cooper. What a sweet gesture that would have been! Thank you for your service Sgt. Craven. May God keep you safe until you’re back home in the good ol’ US of A.
H🌻W are there 👎🏼s??? Karens/Trolls watch something else!!! Congratulations on your precious little one! And from one veteran, Thank you for your service!!! 🇺🇸
I was deployed to the Persian Gulf when my wife and I had our 2nd child, our son was four months old before I made it home! Happy Charlene help this guy home!
How wonderful for this to happen my son was stationed over seas when his first child was to be born he did not get to come home to be with his wife for this special occasion but yet the army allowed another soldier to come home for the birth of their second child this is an event that can not be redone and I don’t ask him but I bet he feels he missed something that was beautiful
How did I not know you had your own You Tube Channel... I am dead right now... I got something to binge watch!!!! WooHoo... By the way, you are an amazing human being Kelly and you touch so many people's lives. I absolutely love you!
I drove 4 1/2 hours (usually a 6 hour drive) late at night (100 mph through Shreveport, Louisiana) to get to the hospital for the birth of my second son. I missed the birth of my first son. When I walked into the waiting room at the hospital, my sister-in-law instantly looked at her watch and did the math and shook her head.
Not enough story details. How did she know his situation? Was she on his flight? Did she just grab a one way rental car? Why did the flight get canceled?
She probably overheard him at the desk making if there was another flight or asking when the next flight would be. She said she had to be in Charleston the next day (possibly for work) so she went to the rental company stands that are inside the airport (most rentals are one way? which is why you can be in Vegas and get a car with a Texas license plate)
He was sitting at the airport looking so bump with his uniform. This nice lady saw a soldier looking so sad so she approached him then asked him then it let to her driving him. Thats the story...i think if remember the full episode of this
i missed my first son being born, i did not see him till he was over 5 years old. i have not seen either son since august 6 1999.i paid child support and paid for ex wife their mother college education from a BA to Doctors Degree, i survived head trauma cancer diabetes black outs blood clots while active duty USN i served 20 years active duty for twenty years i have not seen them even asking to fly to washington state to see me. i wass told by their mother NO they can not fly by themselves at 7 and 8 . a lie. usn failed me to see them. family has failed me so i could not see them taking thousands of dollars from me so i could not go see them
Was it just me that was expecting him to walk out and not be in Afghanistan I’ve watched too many videos where that happens I just expect it every time lol
With my second son who is great and fine but I had a second C-section with him and when I was in the recovery room they came in to check on me and they said you’re bleeding a lot and I said what do you do if you can’t get that to stop and they said we would have to open me back up. Luckily they gave me a pill to help stop the bleeding and that worked otherwise it would have been a nightmare I’m sure
My son also ended up in the nick you for a couple weeks. Because he had a valve that is supposed to shut off when you’re born and his didn’t it kept wanting to redirect the blood flow to the heart from the placenta and he didn’t shut off when it was supposed to so he’s got a heart murmur even though it’s a very mild and it’s not anything to be concerned about but at the time very scary
I also didn’t find that out until the morning that I was supposed to leave and go home with him. So I left the hospital that day without my child and that was very difficult
He's not a Sir, he is enlisted and an NCO so you just call him SGT, only officers are beeing called Sir or by their rank i.e Colonel if you don't wanna call them sir.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

My excuse once was “it turns out you get to places quicker if you drive faster than the speed limit” my uncle who is a cop, wasn’t amused 😂
How nice of them to send him home for his first my son was deployed and they wouldn’t let him leave for his first born but others did he was with 😡
